Really shit for him, could easily have leaped ahead of McTominay and been 3rd choice after Casemiro and Amrabat.

We're in that special Caf twilight zone here where 80% of people are joking, 10% are missing the joke and telling the jokers to calm down, and a particularly pitiable 10% are missing the joke and agreeing.

What he'll miss:
  • The rest of pre-season
  • That awkward first few games when you either smash everyone 4-0 and then suffer a horrible fan backlash when you lose the next couple and the fanbase realise this season isn't going to be a glorious stroll to victory after all; OR you lose them all 4-0 and the fans never want to clap eyes on any of the players involved ever again
  • International break
Won't someone please think of the children etc etc

A lot of you guys under estimate momentum, thats all some of us are saying.

The timing feels cruel but he's done so much good work for his career over the course of this pre-season, on and off the pitch. He's had a chance to demonstrate how very comfortable he looks at this level, including against some good opponents. There will be first team games waiting for him when he returns. If he'd picked up this injury in the first training session this season, there would be much bigger question marks over how much impact this could have on his opportunities.
It still remains to be seen whether he can play at the same level as before his injury, though.

Wouldn't be surprised if his first game back will be around our first Carabao cup match. Depending on our opponent it could be a good game to ease him in

He will be back soon enough. He also know he got a real chance now and he will hit that chance hard.

He may still do so? Why are we acting like his season is over?

He's going to be 30 in 12 years, couple that with his consistent injury problems whenever he plays for the first team and I bet he will be playing for Dagenham and Redbridge within two years

Am I doing it right?

Sucks. Now we'll be stuck watching the terminator for the foreseeable future, Arph!

2 months out?! Is he going down the "talented but injury-prone" path or is this just ridiculously bad luck? He missed a lot of last season due to injury as well right?

Hopefully not, by the way it was a contact injury. Do we know how long he'll be out for?

I'd say this was obviously bad luck, if the Madrid player hadn't been so theatrical going down then he'd be fine.

This is where i go wrong i think, I am not clued up on how Caf works half the time, I literally think some people are just bloody miserable on here but maybe the jokes on me !! :)

To be fair, a lot of people on here are bloody miserable so it's easy to miss when it's not genuine.

2 months was the time given a while ago which is nothing really

Possebon being out for 5 or 6 weeks once apparently ruined his career and turned him from a Brazil star into lower division fodder, so you never know.

Yeah let's talk unrealistic worst case scenarios.

Better to be an optimist and be wrong then be a pessimist and be right

Damn. Went from the next Modric to the next Nedved and now he’s the next Possebon due within the space of a week, all because a guy was rolling around :(

I wasn't really being serious. He's going to be fine, 2 months is nothing and he'll return to 100%.

Possebon was obviously never going to make it here, I just find it interesting that there's still that perspective of him being an amazing prospect whose career was ruined by that 4-week break.

We'd have more balance in midfield with this kid instead of playing two numbers 10's.
I would like to see Casemiro Mainoo and Bruno. How long is he out for?

He's exactly the profile of player we needed. He's calm and composed and rarely gives the ball away.
The report said the first part of the season so I don't think we have a timeline.

Came to say this.

He’d have gotten minutes early this year. Could see Mount getting shifted to the right with Antony being meh.

He’s the exact player we need.

Thread is a shambles. We would have got outplayed with him yesterday.
ETH got his setup totally wrong irrespective of personnel

Exactly this. Would have been carnage if he'd played and we'd have not seen again for another 6 months

So one game in and we rely on a kid already?
He is most probably too young and inexperienced at this moment in time but his profile is pretty much exactly what we need.
He would of course also struggle against the physicality that Wolves displayed but it is hard to imagine we would be worse off playing him next to Casemiro instead of having Mount run around like a headless chicken next to Bruno.
