KNVB Cup Final | Ajax v PSV | PSV win

Not watching the game but ten Hag has 3 key players out and from the sound of it, they are still as good?

A manager that relies on his system rather than personnel.
The fact that they barely dropped a level after losing De Ligt, de Jong, dolberg, then Ziyech, Van de Beek, Dest, then Neres... They're a revolving door of starters always leaving and he keeps them playing the same way to a similar level but with just adapting the system to new players.

They didnt really lose Neres against their will, he was out of the team. Antony took his spot and Tadic is the starter on the left. Neres leaving didnt change much. Same for Dest.

Intense and feisty. This the kind of action we should have had between City and Liverpool both yesterday and last week.

You'd have to wonder how many of this side Ajax are willing to lose. Gravenberch and Mazaouri already going to leave, and we're rumoured to be interested in Timber and Antony. That seems too many starters to leave along with a manager.

Ajax force such a pace. Can imagine it's difficult to have concerted periods of pressure against them in league games - how many teams have managed to outplay them?

Don't think we'd entertain Antony. Timber on the other hand..

We always make the point of the PL being a huge step up from the Dutch league, but looking at this Ajax squad - Mazraoui, Timber, Martinez, Gravenberch and Antony would easily walk into our team.
Player profiles + a system > actual ability. Most of the time.

I can see them refusing to negotiate for one or both of them.

Did you not watch those games? There was obvious intensity, just not a lot of dirty fouling.

Hence the lack of feistiness, which is the second part of my statement. It goes straight to debate about what a rivalry should look like on the pitch. I just cannot appreciate a rivalry without those feisty moments building up the folklore.
