KNVB Cup Final | Ajax v PSV | PSV win

It's okay. He'll fit right in the Theatre of Dreams. We'll make his dream of winning the Cup true.

Think people are forgetting these are two closely matched sides that are rivals for the league as well. They haven't lost to some no hopers.

No composure in the 2nd half, this Ajax team seems to be at the end of the cycle once again with so many players leaving.

This could be interesting, how they'll react in the league now.

Ajax 72 points
PSV 68 points

Ajax has
NEC (currently 10th) away
Zwolle (16th) home
AZ (5th) away
Heerenveen (11th) home
Vitesse (6th) away

For PSV
Cambuur (12th) away
Willem II (17th) home
Feyenoord (3rd) away
NEC (10th) home
Zwolle (16th) away

The gameweek with Ajax going to Alkmaar and PSV facing Feyenoord has potential to be decicive. This happens on the 8th of May.

Psv always lose to us in de Kuip. so Ajax has the title in the bag.

And yes I realize PSV beat us 10-0 in the somewhat recent past, but even that season we beat them 3-1 at home.

It's OK, they used up their entire quota in that game.

Let's hope we didn't sign anything and Poch is still interested

To go back in time a bit:
Why is the cup final in Rotterdam? Is it always there, does it change annualy?
Cup finals are in Rotterdam, the Johan Cruyff Shield is in Amsterdam. Those are the two biggest stadiums in the Netherlands and I think it's been like that for a while now.

Also, I enjoyed seeing these two posts side by side from the first quarter of the game:
Proper final, not going to end 11vs11 this way
This is a fairly terrible match so far
:D

His post match stuff was comically bad. I wonder if his utter lack of oratory skills will translate to English. He's such a rubbish speaker that doing it in a less familiar language may actually help him.

ETH losses a cup final and the redcafe goes into meltdown. Laughable some really strange folk on here.

The fact that ETH is on the verge of a league title and has THIS Ajax team playing anything close to the way they are is a minor miracle in itself.

His front three:

Tadic - Haller - Antony

I mean come on…

I mean he has a bigger budget than the rest of the league put together but yeah complete miracle:rolleyes:

You could say the same if not similar about United and look at us.

You certainly could not say that about united but whatever. The amount of goalpost shifting on here regarding Ten Hag never ceases to amaze me.

After all the abuse i've read on here regarding Poch i know that had he lost a domestic cup final today all you would read from supporters of Ten Hag is Poch is a bottler and born loser over and over.

Yet Ten Hag loses to a team that he has much bigger budget than and far better players but hey its miracle he even got to the final with little old Ajax.

People can't have it both ways. His team lost a cup final they were heavy favourites to win and add to his after match interview I'm not filled with confidence in him just yet

Evidence would suggest to the contrary

Ajax's net spend = +24m

PSV's net spend = +34m

What are people talking about when they mention Ajax has a much bigger budget than PSV?

I could do a comparison with PSG, Lille and Nice but that would be pointless.

Your argument falls on its face considering ETH has won the league x2 times in a row and potentially a third after a 4 year baron spell and won the cup x2 in the same years they won the league , last time they won the KNVB was in 2010. That’s two doubles in a row after significant baron spells for the richest club in Holland.

Loses one final with the weakest Ajax squad he’s had on its third rebuild is pretty ok by my reckoning .

Poch at PSG, well…

Poch has bottled finals/leagues consistently up until this league campaign. where has arguably the best squad in the world at his disposal, and even at that he bottled it last year.

up until this Ten Hag had won 2 league and cup doubles and is on course to win another league.

Teams lose in finals. Klopp lost plenty, as long as you win some as well it's all good.

I hope there's more than just let's just stick another player upfront

Nope. This is genuinely his go-to.

You can be struggling to create chances and instead of changing the midfield or whatever he'll very often just opt for throwing in more strikers. very annoying habit

so the most expensive front three in Eredivisie history?

or is this sarcasm?

Frankly that's your problem if you're choosing to ignore his entire career and instead rate him based on one match. I hope you stay away from here after United suffer their first defeat next season, if that's the sort of reactionary comment we can expect.

I'm glad we're hiring ETH, but this front 3 is quite good for the Eriedivisie, particularly the wingers.

How could poor Ten Hag ever expect to compete against the famous Gapko, Zahavi, Veerman trident, assembled by lavishly spending €6m, when he can only work with Tadic - Haller - Anthony, it's a miracle the poor man even made it this far.

Hopefully management team is on their knees in Paris with ring ready in the pocket, just waiting for yes from Poch, English media dream combination

Celtic vs Barca all over again

I feel like you lot might be reading a bit much into one game here...

People love being toxic. Wonder how many great players and managers they would have given up on after a couple of bad results.

The guy went overboard with the Ten hag comment as if he has nothing to work with in the eredivisie, but come on man.

Poch is a loser because he makes comments like this.

"Again we're going to have the debate whether a trophy will take the club to the next level. I don't agree with it. It only builds your ego. The most important thing for Tottenham right now is to always be in the top four."
