He did genuinely seem exhausted in that interview, would be surprised if he takes another high profile job.
If we're just talking about Premier League legacy, he's 5th all-time and I don't think there's a good argument to put him either higher or lower than that. Not done enough to be considered better than SAF, Pep, Mourinho or Wenger, but he's spent 9 years in the Prem, Liverpool played mostly great, entertaining football, he's had three 90+ points finishes, signed and promoted all-timer PL players in their respective positions (Salah, VVD, Alisson, Trent, you can probably include Mané and Robertson as well).
I'm too young to have seen Dalglish's managerial peak, but none of the other 1-time PL winning managers, or the teams they won it with came close to the level Klopp and his Liverpool side reached. At the peak of their powers they were genuinely one of the greatest club sides ever. If City weren't around (backed by a nation-state, led by a GOAT level manager, and the cheating on top of it), Klopp's trophy cabinet would look very different.
Doubt we see a team as good as Peps City in the Premier league in our lifetime to be fair.
This isn't true. Always nice to big up the underdog I suppose, but that's all it is.Better than Pep.
I'm not underplaying Klopps achievements. I'm just stating a fact. During Utd's poor spell in the last 30 years, we have still managed to finish above the "best team ever" for half of the time Klopp has been there. He was a great manager for Liverpool, but should have won more titles and European Cups. They should have beaten Real Madrid in the final on both occasions.
Purely subjective. Pros and cons to both, to be honest. They are both at the perfect clubs for their personalities and ethos. This isn't true. Always nice to big up the underdog I suppose, but that's all it is.
Agreed. That one match against City in the first losing title chase was something to behold. Glad they lost that match, but the level of both teams that day was insane. We may have finished 2nd behind City in the table a couple of times, but we've not been close to that level of football in a long long time. Hopefully that's changing soon.
There were not better teams in front of him, it was a City Team charged with 115 counts. Understand that. Like Armstrong was doping and coming number one, probably (because the case is ongoing) City will also be found culpable. So he would have won more but there was a better team in front of him, he had a nearly identical period as united had if you take away the numerous titles united won.
Dominance is winning not nearly winning. He's a top manager but let's behave a bit and not talk about him in the same light as Sir Alex or Liverpool greats of shankly and paisley.
Also point totals don't mean anything, the teams sir Alex was up against are different teams to what klopp is up against. Different era, different time and different players.
He’d have another 2 premier league titles yes. Not very differentIf we're just talking about Premier League legacy, he's 5th all-time and I don't think there's a good argument to put him either higher or lower than that. feck they’ll get Alonso
They definitely were underdogs against the 2018 Madrid, I think they should have been winning the 2022 final but no real shame to lose to Madrid in Europe either. It's Real Madrid. In the CL.
Team X "should have beaten Real in the CL" is one of the last things you can say.

Can't disagree with any of that.If we're just talking about Premier League legacy, he's 5th all-time and I don't think there's a good argument to put him either higher or lower than that. To get to a team to punch above their weight then definitely its Klopp, if you have unlimited resources then its Pep. In an ideal world where you could have any player you want then Pep is the one to get the most out of them, it gets time to get his system going but once it does if as good as any team you've seen.Klopp is the best manager in the world. Pep is the one with the most resources,
City will still win leagues when Pep has gone, regardless of manager, like they did before he joined. Liverpool could be in big trouble and need to get their replacement right.
Woe is me.feck they’ll get Alonso
But not very different. I’m sick of this shit talk that klopp would have won so much more if it wasn’t for city when the reality is they came behind Peps city twice. He also finished behind ranieri, mourinho, Conte and ole.You don't know how it would've played out without City. Probably not the same way. But 3 is way more than 1, anyways.
More chance of Shankley joining us.

Your problem is you're already having a narrative of comparing Klopp to Ferguson. Nobody has done that. It's putting things into perspective.
I compared the Most iconic United domination period with Liverpool Iconic period.
2007-2011 United ( 5 year period)
2018-2022 Liverpool ( 4 year period)
1. Sir Alex - 1 CL trophy.
Klopp - 1 CL trophy.
2. Sir Alex - 2 Lost CL finals
Klopp - 2 lost CL finals
3. Sir Alex - 4 league titles
Klopp - 1 league title.
Now the 2 titles Liverpool lost on final day against City is what turns the tide.
If City are banished for doping then Klopp will rightly so, sit at the highest table of Premier League managers who have had a period of domination as Sir Alex, Pep have had.
If you think lowly of Klopp regime, we can bet here now, how long it will take United to achieve 92+ points in 3 seasons and play in 3 CL finals concurrently.
Sir Alex in his time with us played only 4 CL finals.
Pep with City has had only 2 CL finals with all the doping.
Worth it for the dipper meltdown alone.Yeah, would have been hilarious if he did though.
Not trying to be that guy but take Salah out that team and where are Liverpool? It's a shame that we won't get to see Klopp without Salah in his side. I think as a talisman Salah is massively underrated and Klopp takes a lot of his credit. Klopp is a top manager but I think nearly winning things isn't enough to be one of the best ever.So Liverpool glory stage is over with 1 Premier League, 1 League cup, 1 FA cup and 1 Champions League.
The way the radio were going about him today you’d have thought he dominated the English game for generations.
they’ve finished up us the same about of time we’ve finished above them since he’s been there.
the hype up on his actual delivery is massive. Won a league that should have been called off and had the rules changed half way through…
not even fit to be spoken about in the best manager category. He’s slightly out achieved Ranieri at Leicester
Bonkers it isI could select an abitrary period of time during which Solskjaer was a better manager than Busby. Doesn't make it worth the steam off anyones piss.
What matters is Sir Alex - 2 CL Titles and 13 PL Titles.
The only reason you're having to cherry pick periods of time is because Klopp doesn't have the minerals to go through a rebuild and have another crack.
But not very different. I’m sick of this shit talk that klopp would have won so much more if it wasn’t for city when the reality is they came behind Peps city twice. He also finished behind ranieri, mourinho, Conte and ole.
kevin Keegan would be a hero if it wasn’t for SAF, but he’s not.mm
Saying we don’t know how it would play out without city is pointless, that’s just making stuff up

I’m not clinging to anything. I’m saying that the talk that he would have somehow won everything there is to win or ‘so much more’ with out peps city in the the league bollocksYou are only clinging onto results and statistics, meanwhile it's obvious how good of a manager he's been.
For the most part, you are right. I was just making s comment to a post of all time great in Premier League. Trophies are what counts if you want to talk about all time great in Premier League. For me that is. Nobody can deny the work he done in Liverpool last couple of years. At same time 4 years ago they were not even close what they are now and Klopp had couple of trophy-less seasons before they found their rythm.

Klopp has been at Liverpool for 8 seasons during which time LVG, Mouriniho, Ole and Ten Hag have finished above him in the league. When a rival leaves it normally feels like losing a friend, even if you hate them. But this isn't the same because it's not been much of a rivalry for most of his time here. It feels like the guy who's been bullying you leaving which is more of a relief than anything. We haven't been going toe to toe with Klopp for the most part, we've been fighting for relevance whilst he and Pep pulled away.
Wait, TAA a PL all timer right back? Come on now...If we're just talking about Premier League legacy, he's 5th all-time and I don't think there's a good argument to put him either higher or lower than that.
