Klopp Confirmed Liverpool Manager

I have lost all feeling in my nether region. Please tell me this is normal.

Klopp is a top manager, but comparing this Liverpool team to what he had to work with at Dortmund is insane. He'll do well there but I'd be surprised if he is able to work miracles with them.
He bought and/or recruited most of those players himself though. I'd say the quality of the players at Dortmund when he arrived there was worse than what we have at Liverpool atm. They were a mess back then iirc.

Some of the stuff in this thread is hilarious. If I compare the current Liverpool with the ours when he took over 2008, the former look like world beaters. The difference is actually huge. Not like many on here had any interest in us before winning the title 2011 or even our CL campaign 2012/2013 to actually know this.

With the possible exception of Reus who was already fantastic in Gladbach, each and every world class or at least top class player was brought to this level under Klopp. He created this team from scratch. His biggest strength will probably always be his talent for player development and creating roles which maximise the impact of overall only decent players.

The central question with Klopp at Pool would be how much time he is given to actually craft a team to his liking. With us it took him two seasons, the best hope of rival fans would be that the officials have less patience.

First we get smashed by Arsenal, then Rodgers gets the sack, and now this? What a shit day of football. I wish they'd beaten Everton.

Klopp isn't all that, he's like Brenton in a way, he rode his luck with a couple of class players at Dortmund, they left and he was fecked.
Absolutely nothing to worry about, I'd be more worried about Carlo

Shame, as it means I can't like Klopp anymore, and it lessens any possibility Klopp will ever be United's manager in the future. I wanted him over anyone when Fergie stepped down.

A fan of Hard Rock in this country of poets? He isn't lasting.

These jammy cnuts end up with Klopp when you look back at our options when Fergie retired...

How did recruitment work under Klopp? Given the confusion there was over who exactly signed some of Liverpool's buys it'd be interesting to see what the structure around Klopp is like.

Don't get me wrong, I respect Klopp. I just think the competitiveness of the EPL makes for a whole different kettle of fish to the Bundesliga. I don't think he will take Liverpool above the spending power of United, City, and Chelsea. Also, although it might be sacrilege, I'd secretly like a proper club like Pool to succeed more than the oil clubs.

I might be very wrong but I do think the same. The conditions were perfect for him at Dortmund much like they were for Rodgers at Liverpool for a while. It went sour for both when they couldn't maintain those conditions.

He's particularly popular because his style of football really captured the imagination of neutral fans and there's a romance around that.

Will hurt to see Klopp as Liverpool manager. He can definitely take them back to the top. I'd have Klopp over Van Gaal in a heartbeat but at least Moyes is not here anymore

Things I'm hoping Klopp does/doesn't do as soon as he comes in:

1. Never plays Lovren. Like ever.
2. Never plays Lucas and Milner together - what's the effing point?
3. No stupid 3 at the back, Clyne back into his natural position where he's MOST effective
4. Benteke, Henderson and Sturridge coming back to fitness

Might see some common sense football at last. Got to be worth a few points at least.

That's crazy. He built that Dortmund 2 time title winning and CL final team from scratch. Rodgers built .. err ... Nothing.

Don't let his shambolic last season skew things here.

Klopp built that team and brought them success. The comparisons with Rodgers when he got lucky with Suarez are idiotic.

OMG - I just had the news of rodgers being sacked 15 minutes ago in the metro and come home to this.

Klopp identified the player profiles he needed, DoF Zorc oversaw scouting and searched for candidates, CEO Watzke checked if the candidated were doable financially. In the end the final decision about the players was made by all of them as team, each member having a right to veto. Decisions had to be unanimous.

He was there for 7 years though, surely he had a massive role in making those conditions to thrive in? The likes of Kagawa, Reus, Lewandowski, Hummels, Gundogan were his signings and played big roles in his league title wins. He wasn't given any of them like Suarez at Liverpool.

You're only as good as your last season, so there is some hope. A glimmer of hope. A smidgen of hope that he'll be just as terrible as Rodgers. :nervous:

Lost of posts with no white text here.

Ancelotti is looking a better bet at present. The decision, it seems, was made after the Norwich game. Ancelotti was in NY that weekend.

The plan is to have the new manager in place for Liverpool’s next game away to Tottenham - James Pearce

Lovren might actually show his good side with proper defensive coaching.

Oh I was just laughing because Klopp is highly rated and liked, rightly so and we now need to hope he fails.
