Kim Min-jae | signed for Bayern

How are you struggling with this so much? I’ve not once mentioned City “activating” the release clause before 1st July. Neither has anyone mentioned KMJ’s clause being activated before then. You seem to be struggling with the difference between “agreeing a deal” and “activating a clause”.

I know because you fail to realise that's what they did (which is there in black and white in the report from Sky), because you have made up a restriction that did not exist.

I've already said the following things:

  • United cannot activate Kim Min-Jaes clause before July
  • United could agree a fee with Napoli if they want to make the deal official sooner than July
  • United have already reportedly agreed a contract with Kim Min-Jea (the only thing they can do at this point)
To clarify further City did activate the release clause in June by paying the release fee to Dortmund as reported here: https://www.skysports.com/amp/footb...ning-of-borussia-dortmund-striker-in-51m-deal
United cannot take this final step with Kim Min-Jae until July
Feel free to continue arguing your point, but I'm done

Never expected our first signing to be another central defender.
Think Mount will get agreed this month and then Kim at the beginning of July. Always start from the back though… make us solid to score against and then we need a world class Striker to finish off the chances.

This is massive if true! Arguably the best performing CB in Europe, and at 26, could be a big part of our team for the next 8 years.

Refreshing to see us get transfers done at good value. If (big if) we can get Mount over the line for 55m odd, we're in good shape with 3 months left in the window

Looks a great defender, good to see him coming, although centre back is not the place I would have thought we needed players.

Its definitely a concern with Varane's fitness being an issue. Its just been downplayed because of the other glaring issues we have in the squad.

Signing for Bayern over us is just silly.

Why? I think you are not giving Bayern the respect they deserve. Guaranteed titles and normally deep runs in the CL.

whilst we have reasons to be pretty optimistic about the upcoming season you could also argue we are still a mess squad wise and with the uncertainty with the Glazers hanging around.

The Bundesliga does nothing for me. The Premier League is where it's at. Bayern are capable of a decent run in Europe, but so are we. Outside of City, it's all much of a much-ness.

Have to say, this deal has been way over considered "as good as done" and feels far too simple to me, wouldnt be at all surprised to see if fall through.

This is one of the best defenders in Europe the last year, at a good age, Serie A defender of the year, very highly rated, great commercial value in the far east.....yet nobody seems to think other huge clubs will be seriously moving for him, when he is under £50m which in the current market is decent value....ad nothing can be completed for a few weeks, someone could easily come in over the next fortnight

We have other priorities, he is a very good CB for a good price, BS source linking us to him. I dont see this happening at all.

Well, other priorities maybe....but lets not not forget JOnes and Tuanzabe have gone, Bailly should be, Maguire hopefully will be. When we have a first chocie centre back the wrong side of 30 and picking up a lot of injuries....and even rumours of Lindelof wanting to be a starter....it is something needs looking at, should be looking atcentre backs for sure I feel and I do feel there is a lot of truth in this, its certainly a deal that makes a lot of sense....and it makes a lot of sense for a lot of big clubs in Europe, so the pay clause and get him sentiment it seems to be on here is wide of the mark to me.

I think he is an excellent signing this window, a window we need seven signings....but I actually think there are lots of quality young centre backs around at the moment at a similar price or a lot cheaper, so think there are loads of options.....I more hope the Disasi links are utter BS, for me he isnt that great and is massively over rated the times seen him.....very much a "Badiashille is an beast" of a season or so back....he isnt

Feels like this transfer window is a pivotal one, albeit one that’s a house of cards.

If the manager and club can tell Kim, Mount, Kane and a CDM that all of the others are signing… they may all join.

Not being able to do so… may see all of them go elsewhere.

Don't dare to change attention to players like Robin Koch. KMJ for 40m is like a free transfer. And he prefers the EPL over other leagues. Feck priorities, it's a no brainer.
