Reminds me of Redondo...however it's difficult to judge from a couple of youtube videos.

If the rumour is true and his cost will be around 16-18 millions, I'll definitely consider him as a decent deal.

He's evolving into complete box to box midfielder and with solid assist rate, he's already established in his national team.

Does anyone sometimes feel like a player can't ever make it at the big level, not because of their ability on the pitch, but just down to their name? This is that kind of guy.

Yep. It's odd but true. I changed my name because it was rubbish. Result? Instant improvement in my fortunes.

Players like Danny Higginbottom never stood a chance.

Reminds you of Redondo? Sign this player immediately! If this guy is even half as good as Redondo i'll jizz in my pants.

He's good enough to be a starter for Holland.

He was found out against tougher oposition though. Heitinga is also a starter for Holland so starting for Holland doesn't make you good enough for us. And he's also not exactly carrying PSV in the league right now. He's just going down with the rest of the team. I would expect any United quality player, and especially when they are labelled as the dutch Keane, to make a difference in a title bid with a club like PSV in the dutch league.

Just saying, I have yet to see anything from him to suggest he's good enough for United.

He is only 21. Surely he will be signed on the player that he will evolve into over 4 - 5 years.

Correct me if I am wrong he is only just turned 22 right? Keano was 22 when he came to United so give the lad a chance.

Maulensteen quoted in Dutch Media as saying that we've no interest in this player and also he's not the new Roy Keane.

Interesting from RI's twitter account(who are generally more reliable than your usual ITK's)

You may have dismissed the tale about the PSV lad, Strootman, attached to us by a lesser-known Sunday Mirror hack last week. But word from Holland is that it's more than well-founded - if a bit suspicious. (Mind you, since when was a United transfer taint-free? We're still marvelling at how the De Gea agent rigmarole passed muster.) "The deal is so far advanced that it only hinges on Fergie getting one of his favoured agents on board to do the deal," says our
man in the clogs speaking into a phone made of Gouda.

"Apparently the player's agent has been trying to get him to Arsenal because he will do the deal himself and get paid the full amount. If United get an agent on board then he will have to split the commission - and he isn't happy that Gill indicated that's how any move to OT must be conducted. But that's how it has to be: Fergie approves the agent or it's no dice. I'll leave you to surmise why that should be." So, surmise away, readers!

We have to tickle Mendes bollocks again to sign Strootman. That does sound a little far fetched to me. Why can't the agent get him to Arsenal?

Im not arsed whose bollocks we have to tickle as long as we buy a decent midfielder! FFS one of the Glazers could deep throat Mendes for a month for all i care, as long as we get the player we want!

I don't know mate, I'm as clueless as you're.

Ok. We have certain agents onside. They sort us out with player's and keep existing ones happy. To keep them onside we get them involved in incoming transfers. Everyone's a winner, bar the players agent.

Silly season has kicked off. Until the player has signed then take all rumours with a pinch of salt as 99% won't come to fruition

He is tall, physical and a good passer. I reckon we need that more than a smaller attacking midfielder

explain the likes of Raiola then?

Raola, former agent of technical director at juve pavel nedved. Juve have raiola onside so he sorts them out with player's they want on his books. I suspect we've decided that if you can't beat them, join them. Particularly when we'd quite like on or two of mendes' clients this summer.

I recon we need both but actually need a nimble attacking midfielder more than we need a Strootman type(due to already having Carrick who can already perform a similar role when fit).

I'd love to see acquire both types however as they are needed.

Strootman and Carrick are nothing like each other as players though!

They can both play the deep lying playmaker role is what I was suggesting.

But yes they are different in terms of the way they both go about that role.

However we do not really have a young creative ACM who is consistant and can run with the ball at pace and drive the play forward ala Silva and that is what we need more than a deeplying playmaker type unless we plan to use Strootman differently than PSV currently do.

In fairness he is capable of playing as an attacking CM and has done on occasions so who knows.

I don't think I've ever seen him play but I've heard so much about him this last 6 months or so. I'll be really keen to watch him at the Euros.
