Kevin De Bruyne

This is playing out exactly like last year. He carries them on his shoulders for 10 games, then gets injured and they crumble.

Injured because of his insane work rate.
Don't think his knock look too bad, and he looked fine after the match.

Shows what a crazy time 2015 was when £55m for KDB was deemed big money! Fast forward two years and Sigurdsson moves to Everton for similar money. Madness.

They have an unreal collection of midfielders but KDB is a cut above them all. Pep will make him even greater, as he's doing with his club

I'm not saying now. But when players go this hard, they're bound to get a few niggles here and there.

Has this been confirmed though?

He's probably the best in the league now.D. Silva is still a very good player but pales in comparison.

That's harsh on Silva, they're completely different players. de Bruyne will never be capable of what Silva does, and vice versa. Silva's peak at City is also higher than the level de Bruyne is currently performing at but that could change if he carries on progressing at the rate he is.

His ability to strike a ball with both feet is superb.

He's also the best crosser of the ball in the Premier League imo.

Different players and complement each other perfectly. Silva dicatates the play and De Bruyne breeds productivity.

That's a good case of Silva knowing what a tool Lahoz is and trying to protect KDB from wasting his energy or getting sent off

He was brilliant last night for the most part and that strike that hit the underside of the bar was so sweetly struck.

Looking a shoein for POTY the way he's being talked about at the moment

I hate it how much I enjoy watching him play.

His passing ability is unreal, the weighting on each and every pass/assist he's made recently is simply perfect. Bang on perfect.

Bloody hope he's plucked by Barca/Madrid one day soon.

What's interesting is that he's 26 now. He wasn't like Martial, Dembele, Mbappe, Pulisic etc who are already shining at age 18/19/20. Perhaps it's a midfielder thing?

Pretty sure he was a huge star in Belgium when he was quite young.

Best player in the league to be honest and he will win the POTY deservedly so, he is an absolute machine.

Probably my favourite non-United player in the Premier League for the last 3 years. Absolutely top, top class player. Reminds me in many ways of Lampard in his prime. Makes tonnes of assists but can also score from anywhere. I'd say De Bruyne will end up being better than Lampard acutally. Heard Pep basically sanctioned this buy even when Pellegrini was still manager. Apparently, he agreed in principle with City to join in 2015 after his Bayern contract expired and that was when he gave the green light to the De Bruyne purchase. He was thinking ahead and knew what he was getting.

I strongly disagree. Frank Lampard was one of the best midfielders of his generation, he won PL titles and the CL and statwise he was putting up great numbers.

Horrible spoilt brat . Remember that video where he wouldn't sign a kids autograph becuase he was tired.

Judging people very quickly isn't a great thing to do either. He seems alright to me. Personally, if I had a camera on me anytime I left the house, there would for sure be at least one embarrassing videos of me online every week.

De Bruyne seems like he's on fire at the moment, if he keeps this up he'll be the driving force behind some trophies won for City this season.

He was very good in our domestic league but I don't remember him being phenomenal. People talked about his incredible striking, crossing and passing technique but I don't think he was considered the best player/talent in the league and I doubt anyone predicted he'd become this good. He just never stopped improving since then.

If I was famous I'd be the biggest cnut in the world

Oh yeah his improvement trajectory has been absolutely crazy. I always got the impression that his numbers in Belgium were very impressive but maybe not.

Best Belgian footballer ever?
Hazard, Scifo?
Van Himst and Ceuelemans are probably still ahead. They both delivered at international tournaments and got in the top 5 of the ballon d'or and thereabouts for a few seasons. But if De Bruyne keeps this going and does something with Belgium he could get there yet.
