Kevin De Bruyne

He literally ran the show today, and was great defensively. No idea where you heard that.

Yeah, there was a few misplaced passes but you're always going to get the with the type of passes he's attempting.

I've been really impressed with his defensive contributions this session one area where he's improved massively but still plenty of room for improvement as he sometimes ball watches and the opposing midfielder must drifts last him

I've seen Hazard carry Chelsea to a Premier League title.

I've yet to see KDB carry Man City to a Title.
He didn't 'carry' either titles. Costa was just as important in both, for instance.

De Bruyne can be a bit suspect with his close control and his passing percentage will never be the highest. De Bruyne takes chances and has no problem going for the big play so to speak. Even when he's playing poorly he's still good for creating at least two gilt edge chances per game.

I was obviously talking about people saying he's better than Hazard.

When he carries his team to a title. Let me know. Until then Hazard > KDB
Nothing to do with the rest of the squad then?
Oh and I've never seen KDB down tools at City like your man did for Chelsea a couple of years ago. That said Haxard is superb when on his game.

Never understood stuff like this, it's like saying you'd take Messi at United. It'll never happen because of the circumstances.

It's only a rhetorical way of expressing praise of the player, with the knowledge it's inconceivable it'll actually happen. When you want something, it means you value it highly. While implying you have disappointment over what you do have in comparison (Mkhi).

But to satisfy your confusion. KDB is a fantastic player and I enjoy watching him play.

Be a cooler name too, especially if he was a defender.

Pep should be looking after his minutes imo. He's one of those players when he feels a bit of fatigue his game goes completely pear shaped as he's not a safe player at all. Especially with Gundogan in the side, he really should be resting him more.

You alright mate?

Didn't KDB down tools at Chelsea when he couldn't get a game?

That's news to me. As far as I know, he spent the vast majority of his Chelsea career out on loan, and only ever made 3 appearances for them - one of them was a man of the match display against Hull on the opening day of the 2013-14 season. He was eventually sold to Wolfsburg in the January 2014 transfer window.

On a separate note, this may come as a surprise to some but I don't think Mourinho deserves too much criticism for letting him go. He was signed by Chelsea long before he returned as manager, farmed out on loan to Werder Bremen for a year before he even played a game for Chelsea, and Mourinho was the only manager who gave him any game time there plus he was sold on for a decent profit.

I think KDB is at his best when the tempo is very fast. His decision making is very quick and he can see several steps ahead. When the tempo is a bit slow he tends to become more ordinary and uninspiring.

Great player but I tend to think that Hazard is probably a bit better for now.

Incomparable players, one beats opponents with his control, pace and strength, the other affects the game with his vision, passing and intelligence.

Yet both players are more than capable of doing all the things listed also at times.

By a mile the best 2 in the league for me.

Fantastic player. He still has to improve his strategic passing and know when not to play a through ball. He is a big reason City were susceptible to counter attacks. Once he improves that he can become one of the best central midfielders.

I feel that both him and Toni Kroos are different halves of the same player and combined together would make the perfect central midfield. Kroos with his strategic passing and game managanent with De Bruyne's dynamism and final balls.

Watching them both makes me remember how truly unique Xavi Hernandez was and I don't think will see a central midfielder of that ilk in my lifetime.

DADDY?!?

That was a good goal, especially in an away game against the club that sold you.

This is playing out exactly like last year. He carries them on his shoulders for 10 games, then gets injured and they crumble.

Injured because of his insane work rate.

If I could pick any player from the league for our team it would be him.

When?
The accusation by Jose that he doesn't work hard enough is looking rather silly now.

Has this been confirmed though?

He's probably the best in the league now.D. Silva is still a very good player but pales in comparison.
