That is a serious amount of money for him, but he could turn out to be a superstar

Just another jewel to add to their already incredible attack.

They really are so far ahead of us its painful. Their attack makes a mockery of ours :(

That's some crazy attack that City have now. Light years ahead of us and as good as anyone out there.

Let's see how he fits in first. I think he's a fantastic player but I have my doubts. He's brilliant in the middle but definitely a level below out wide. I'm not sure I'd sacrifice Silva and move him on the wing to accommodate KDB and I don't think Pellegrini will, if he keeps playing like the best player in the league, as he currently is. That price tag will be heavy for him to carry, as well, especially if he doesn't start well enough.

Having said all that, you get these type of risks with every transfer. He's a great player and that's a strong move from City.

FFP isn't if concern to them at all. Any fine or infringement can be paid for with sums their owner has in his couch cushions. If they ever broke the rules again (which they won't now that they've been relaxed) it's just a slap on the wrist, pay the small fine, and that's that.

A Chelsea fan lambasting City? Really?

They are going to have some attack over there. Not convinced they are going to conquer Europe but they seem nailed on to win the league with these last two transfers.

Not lambasting them at all. I'm actually more frustrated with my own club than I am with City. Can't blame them for taking advantage of the situation. I'm just wondering why my club are trying desperately to adhere to rules that clearly have no bite.

Fair enough.

No way under FFP they are legit. The reason they slipped back into order was the reduction in spending.

FFP is dead.

Great player. We'll see how he finds it when he isn't the main man.

Don't know why people keep questioning how he'll be when he isn't the "main man."

He'll be surrounded by world class players. Don't see why he'd suddenly be any worse playing with a much higher standard of player around him.

Yaya is 33 next year and getting another goal scoring midfielder is a vital to their future. But 65m are you joking.

I would take him for £55m or whatever they are paying for him.

Great player and now there attack takes a great big shit on ours

Chelsea sell a player for £18mil and then the next summer he is sold for £54mil.

So much for their great tactic of making profit out of players that just sent on loan every year.

I really don't understand all the talk about money.

If a transfer makes a team stronger then happy days as far as I'm concerned.

And I believe that signing KDB makes us stronger and so it's all cool. :D

Money admittedly does not matter when you are swimming in it, no.

Most clubs have to consider more carefully.

Gross.

He is that much worth though because we sold him and hence he could became player of the year in Germany. It's not like we could have sold him for that amount of money if he had stayed with us.

You don't think United, Chelsea or Arsenal can spend this sort of money ? Of course they can.

The tricky part is identifying the player that strengthens the squad and then getting them to move.

The business of football is getting bigger all the time and transfers like this are really not so surprising.

Might as well just give the title to City already.

Its incredible how far away they've pulled from us in recent years.

Not even going to lie, it hurts. The noisy neighbours are now the dominant force in English football.

Pretty much. If the club are spending it then they can afford it, that's all there is to it. If the player is a success then the transfer fee becomes insignificant really.

Slight difference between United and to an extent Arsenal spending that sort of money than there is City spending it but that debates being going on a few years now and won't end anytime soon.

You're right he certainly will improve your team and that's the number 1 factor in a transfer.

They can. But I am not sure any would pay out nearly 150m for three players who are not proven top level players. I am not saying you have spent badly atm and you have certainly strengthened where you needed to, but the prices are escalating due to money being no object at all which is not great for the game. FFP was misguided but the intention was to stop it.

I'm under no illusions about this though. United are playing the same game and if we could we would spend more on Bale tomorrow.

We'll we will see who is right or wrong about paying nearly £150m for unproven players.

Trophies are the only measure !

De Bruyne is not proven at the top level? He was fantastic last season in the Bundesliga and has only turned 24. He's meant to be Belgiums best player for the national team (over Hazard)

Sterling is the best english talent around too

All three players you have bought have had one very good season.
