Kevin De Bruyne

Silva primarily plays on the left and de Bruyne would come over the right or through the center if Agüero leads their attack. He would be an immense upgrade over Navas or Nasri in any case.

What about Sterling, where would he play. One of DeBruyne or Silva will likely play behind Aguero

Why does everyone keep instisting he can only play as a #10, hes plays on the right for Belgium.

I dont insist that he can only play as #10. Not at all. I know that he can play out wide. Still its fairly obvious that he is best as central play maker. The same goes for Silva. He played on the right wing for spain and gave some key assists. Still he is best when he plays in the centre.

I don´t buy a player for that much money to play him out of position. Thats terrible management. Especially if you need new starter in 5-6 positions over the next 2 years.

Sterling on the left, De Bruyne in the middle, Silva on the right. They'd be able to form an effective and fluid partnership at any rate, interchanging positions with Sterling the one likely to make the penetrating runs in behind with his pace.

Daily Mirror again claiming 'sources' at City are confident they'll land De Bruyne with a fee close to £40m.

God that is depressing. £40m is a great price too. City just need to sort out the defensive side and if you do you will whip Chelsea and Arsenal.

Why the hell aren't united trying to sign this guy for £40m? he had like 30 assists or something and was the best player in the bundesliga apparently

10 goals and 20 assists in 34 Bundesliga-games. Almost a goal/assist every game.

If City get De Bruyne they have an absolutely formidable attack which blows Chlesea, Arsenal and United away imo.

------------Aguero------------
Silva-----De Bruyne----Sterling

That takes a great big shit over United's attack

I strongly doubt Wolfsburg are willing to let Kevin de Bruyne leave for that kind of money. Wolfsburg's manager is a very experienced man who knows the market well and has the player tied up in a contract until 2019. I expect KdB to cost £45-50m and not less than £40m. The Belgian international might transfer to City after all, but it will cost them.

They have the corpse of Yaya Toure and Fernandinho supporting that. Strangely enough the current City squad reminds of Fergie's United squads where he'd buy every forward and winger available while playing 40 year old Giggs and Park Ji Sung in midfield.

Agreed, if we get him his fee will probably be identical to what we paid for Sterling, if not slightly more and breaking £50m.

Exactly that. And none of the 4 offensives is known for their defensive work either...

Apparently this is close if you believe online murmurs. Really hope that's true.

With Sterling and Aguero they'll have great pace and De Bruyne/Silva will always find a way to unlock deep defences and De Bruyne is not even slow either. That could be a devastating front 4.

It's probably just English media making stuff up as usual.

This is a local newspaper from yesterday quoting their DoF:
Kevin has not come to me [asking for a transfer], and I don't expect he will.
And what if a player wants to leave?
We would take it seriously, out of respect for the player. But we would probably say: we take note [of your wish], but we have decided that you will have to stay.

Sterling plays right sided does he not

Sterling/De Bruyne is a massive upgrade from Nasri/Navas. Those 2 and Silva behind Aguero is ridiculous.

On paper perhaps, but they would still have to prove it. Sometimes players don't work well together, and in the case of the other two, we already know they can play well enough to be an important part in a league winning side.

Nasri is awful these days and Navas isn't much better.

Two assists, a goal, and man of the match today - right where he left off last year.

It's happening, €67m deal to City is very close according to several Belgian newspapers today.

fecksake. Our attack needs to step up. On paper city are going to be too far ahead.

I agree that £40m is far too cheap, considering Sterling went for £49m and has never had a season like KDB I believe Wolfsburg will hold out for more money. He has all the right attributes to be a very good player but Mourinho didn't see the fight in him to be able to apply it to the EPL. Maybe I'm clutching at straws but just because he had a fantastic season in Germany doesn't mean instant success in the EPL (Kagawa). Hes been here once and didn't make it and it could be the same when at City.

If we get Pedro consider our front line of

------------Rooney------------
Depay-------Mata--------Pedro

Looks just as devastating as Citys so I'm not too worried, we also have Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger in Midfield to snuff out and midfield threat. We need a backup for Rooney, who have City got if Aguero gets injured?

They'll have the best attack in the league if they get this guy. Hopefully the average midfield and the shit defence costs them enough points.

They'll be great to watch though.

I think people are over estimsting how good De Bruyne is. Hes better in a counter attacking team than in a possession based team IMO. He likes carrying the ball in midfield but that's when the team has a lot if space to play. He won't find that space in the premier league. I think he' all end up being an underwhelming signing for city. The way city play IMO they would have been better off signing Pedro.

It really doesn't to me. There's a huge gap in quality between Aguero, Sterling, Silva, De Bruyne and Rooney, Depay, Mata, Pedro.
Sterling hasn't shown anything to suggest he will be a world beater. Hes English and overhyped, KDB has had one good season in Germany. Theres a reason why Mourinho let him go. Pedro is a better player than both of these, Silva is probably better than Mata but if Mata is played behind Rooney in his best position then he isn't far from Silva. Aguero is a lot better than Rooney but to say theres a huge gap is just plain rude.

Pedro is a better player than both of these
The Pedro hype on the Caf since the rumours started is quite funny. He gets better and better every passing day. I wonder if he could become a future Ballon d'Or winner, if this drags out for 2 more weeks.
