If Real won't pay €80m for Kepa, they won't pay what we'd want for DDG.
I'm surprised that he signed a contract until 2025. 7 and a half years?
My guess is that he is repaying the loyalty the club shows towards Basque players.
Surely a keeper shouldn’t be that high on Real’s list of priorities at the minute?
I don´t DDG will be hard to replace.Oh well, another summer with DDG saga.
However I trust Jose and we will get a better replacement if Dave leaves.
That's wishful thinking. You will realize his importance once he leavesI don´t DDG will be hard to replace.
That´s what I said.. We won´t find a quality replacement anytime soon..That's wishful thinking. You will realize his importance once he leaves
Oh my bad, must have misinterpretedThat´s what I said.. We won´t find a quality replacement anytime soon..
Get de gea on a nice big fat new contract quick. I doubt he's particularly keen on going down the real route after they screwed him over so badly last time anyway.
Nah, they just wouldn't pay 80m for Kepa because they can get one of the best goalkeepers in the world right now for 30-40m more (or, in the case of Courtois, around the same price). If Real won't pay €80m for Kepa, they won't pay what we'd want for DDG.
Just not sure they will pay that sort of money for a GK. Although DDG is the best, it is strikers and midfieders who are merchandising gold.Nah, they just wouldn't pay 80m for Kepa because they can get one of the best goalkeepers in the world right now for 30-40m more (or, in the case of Courtois, around the same price).
Sorry what I meant was what @DomesticTadpole said, I can't see Real spending big money on a keeper when they're going to need to replace a few ageing players in the next year or two.Nah, they just wouldn't pay 80m for Kepa because they can get one of the best goalkeepers in the world right now for 30-40m more (or, in the case of Courtois, around the same price).
Mh, not so sure. This might be the one summer where Floren will be allowed to go after De Gea in earnestJust not sure they will pay that sort of money for a GK. Although DDG is the best, it is strikers and midfieders who are merchandising gold.
So as it stands, Courtois contract at Chelsea is till 2019 & De Gea's at United is till 2020 (including the 1 year option).
Both clubs should be desperate to tie them down until 2025 like Kepa. I'd give De Gea a 30 million sign on bonus just for it!
@DomesticTadpole must be crushed since she is an Athletic fan first and foremost.
I see no fix?Fixed
The money is no good while they cannot replace the goalkeeper. Good luck to him with that shambles of a defence in front of him. I hate Chelsea.80m€ is too much for Kepa.Big deal for Athletic although the money is not exactly their priority.
If Chelsea knew that Courtois didn't want to renew why didn't they fix the GK position before?

I guess that Courtois knew that It was this year or never (to return to Madrid). They might've assumed Courtois would actually honour his contract. Perhaps having Courtois for another year is worth more to the club than whatever fee is being offered for him.
Herrerín is a good option.what more basques(not necessarily gk) can you find in the market? The money is no good while they cannot replace the goalkeeper. Good luck to him with that shambles of a defence in front of him. I hate Chelsea.
They now have Herrerin as first choice I presume, I am sure they have loaned out Unai Simon for the season, so god knows who the backup will be. It has severely weakened them.
He's a good keeper, but not that good yet. I think he might struggle initially but he'll come good. Don't see him becoming best in the wold good thoughIs he 80 million Euro good?

Are you happy with Kepa?
