Kasper Schmeichel

Didn't Morgan make the team of the season? Fuchs and Huth were also standout good at times. Even if you want to put him 5th fair enough, I wouldn't. I would definitely at the very least have Morgan ahead of him.

While I watched most of Leicester's matches towards the end of the title winning season, I didn't see enough of them before that to say definitively that Schmeichel was better than say Huth, Morgan or Fuchs. Perhaps it was closer than it appeared in the matches I watched.

I suppose it's maybe personal opinion whether he would make the top 5. Maybe some would him there and others not. The overall point though is that he wasn't amazing or anything. He's an ok keeper but nothing more than that.

Kasper was 4th in our title win behind Kante, Vardy and Mahrez in THAT order and is a shoe in to win player of the season for us this season

I noticed Sky Sports news campaigning for Kasper to join you lot

Very good keeper, not on the same level as De Gea of course but he'll still do the job. He won't cost us a lot, too and that's important as we need to enforce our attack and that'll need a heavy load of money.

I'm for this deal if De Gea leaves.

what do you consider not a lot? I guarantee we wouldn't sell for less than £20m

not for a keeper it isn't, Buffon is still the record transfer and he moved nearly 20 years ago

If De Gea moves this summer it'll never be for less than 60m so yes 20m will look very cheap after this.

no way in hell Real Madrid pay £60m for a keeper and if they did we'd double our price for Kasper in an instant knowing you now need a keeper, as will anyone else you go after, DDG would set a new record transfer but you're not getting more than £45m IMO

Alright, mate. We'll see in summer.

I don't think he's as poor as some in here claim, what we need if De Gea leaves is someone who can come in, hit the ground running and not make mistakes and generally reliable behindof a Mourinho drilled defence, which.. to be honest, you could see him doing.
There are better keepers out there but i'd be more concerned at who else we bring in this summer in other positions as bigger priorities for us.

Fuchs was also better I think.

If they really want De Gea and that's around the price that we've stuck on him then they will. De Gea is arguably the best goalkeeper in the world they will have to pay top dollar for him.

I watched every game mate,Fuchs was good but not as good as Kasper people underestimate the protection and help he got from Albrighton, Fuchs would be 5, Albrighton 6 then Huth and Morgan

they will but only premier league sides pay stupid money for players

Plenty on here watch every one of our matches and opinions will wildly on vary on players. No offence here, but just because you support Leicester, it doesn't make your opinion anymore valid.

it does if I saw every game of that season and you didn't, that much is pretty obvious

RM paid €80 million for James who's warming the bench for years now.
he was bought off the back of being the best player in a world cup and they always spunk shit loads on attacking players, they don't spend all that much of defensive players

Not really because it's still only an opinion. The top 3 no one can argue with but after that it's a matter of contention.

I've watched every United game this season but I know for a fact my opinions on players will wildly vary compared to other posters who have watched every single game. I respect oppo fans and all but I still only take their opinion as opinion and not fact.

And De Gea is the second best GK in the world, too so ?

How many world class defenders or Gks did they bought recently to judge that ? They have been dependent on Pepe and Ramos for years so any defender coming will be a back-up option so they won't pay much for it.

the point you said was his opinion is as valid as mine even if he hasn't saw every game ,that is incorrect as he hasn't as much evidence to base it on, the same would be true if we were rating United players when I haven't seen every game.

No where did I say he wasn't entitled to his opinion either.

the fact they haven't bought them shows they won't spend big of defensive players as they have been in need of them for years, the current regime at Madrid simply do not spend big money on defensive players

It will probably involve a swap deal. They are trying to push Rodriguez onto us according to the press. We should demand the money or Kroos.

Why will they buy a world class defender if they have Ramos and Pepe ?

Just because someone has seen every single game, it doesn't mean what they say is correct. As I said, look at the opinions on here and how much they differ. I would hold your opinions on United players pretty much as much I would one of our supporters to be fair. They're only opinions after all.

I never said you said his opinion wasn't valid either. I respect you would put Kasper 4th, personally I wouldn't have him in the top 5. That's just my opinion though and it's obviously contentious and not factually correct. I'm just saying that while I respect oppo fans on here, I don't take what they say as absolute fact about their teams / players.

Do not want him. Go for Oblak please, we need world class players at their respective positions and not decent ones. Schmeichel would be ok for the 2nd GK spot.

We also want keepers who can make even a slight attempt to try and save a penalty

I bet if daddy comes out of retirement he would still be a better keeper then Kasper. I thought we learnt our lesson from Jordi Cruyff

Easier to teach a goalkeeper to save a penalty than it is to teach one to massively improve in every other area.

He's good but NOT good enough to fill De Gea gloves.

PS: Would really like to see Joel Pereira turn out to be good.

His shot stopping skills are excellent, but his main trait is his attitude. And with the statements Mourinho have made lately about wanting the players to bleed for the cause, he'd be a perfect candidate for a goalkeeper. He's loud, passionate, determined and has a huge character within the dressing room.

If it's a choice of Casper or joe hart, I'd sooner have Casper, but hopefully IF DDG goes we have better options.

The Downside of going for Griezmann is that it would be near impossible to grab Oblak too. I like Schmeichel but is he fit to wear his fathers gloves?
