Karim Benzema | Benzema: "To the clowns who want to make up things, Madrid is my home! #HalaMadrid"

Not sure about this Benzema situation. I'm of the opinion that if Arsenal put in a big bid, Madrid would sell him. I get this feeling that Madrid might be having some financial problems....

If he was for sale surely we'd have been first in line considering the leverage we have with De Gea? We're led to believe that Woodward faxed them about ten different times asking for a player in exchange, well I find it hard to believe Benzema wasn't one of those players (considering we've just let RvP and Falcao go).

If they allegedly rejected a £100million bid for Bale from us then there's no chance they're having financial trouble.

Highly doubt they have any financial troubles lol, it's Madrid.

There is no way of that happening. Otherwise it's easy to solve it by selling either Ramos or Bale to us.

Benzema is not going anywhere.

Don't know if that wasn't all paper talk. Plus they might not want to sell us anyone after the De Gea situation.... they are a funny bunch.

Still, Benzema is supposed to be a 'favourite' of Perez, yet they might consider selling him? I can't shake the suspicion there's something going on with their finances. Got to be the first transfer window for a long time that Real is not splashing out on someone. Find that strange.

I suppose so - but they also have a huge debt - more than us I believe...

I think that's more down to them not trusting the Fat Spanish Waiter with a warchest, so they're seeing how he copes in his first season.

It'd also be a bit rich of them not to agree to sell us to because of our hard stance with De Gea, especially after we've gifted the cnuts our best players over the last decade or so while the only thing they've done for us is rip us off with Di Maria. But again they are the most detestable club in Europe so I wouldn't put it past them.

Yeah I hadn't thought they might not want to give the waiter a warchest:D
As for the rest of your post - Perez don't give a feck - he just wants money from everyone else but refused to return any favours. Absolute shitbag he is.

Not sure about that, Perez is the one who buys at that club, not the manager.

Surely they won't sell Benzema unless they had a 'galatico' replacement??

And why on earth will he move to Arsenal a team that has won 2 FA cups in the last 10 years...
Funnily I think he would be more attracted to Arsenal and the London lifestyle..

London, money, excellent club, bones of a very good team.

C'mon now.....

This has been the line for over a decade now... And it seems he is happy in Real and they do not want to sell him.

And the London attraction is vastly overrated i feel. And if we mention cities that attract players - Paris are Madrid are way ahead of London for sure.

I've never been but I've heard Madrid isn't that great - not like Barcelona or Paris for example.

I don't know if there's any substance to the rumours. But yeah Paris for a Fenchman(even if Parisians are tools) would suit better perhaps but no word of PSG in for him.
Madrid is a cool city but Atleti ain't buying so leaves England and London leads that race unless we're going to throw money at him.

London lifestyle?
you mean congestion, overpricing, rushed pace of life?
I live 20miles from London and would hate to be part of the "London lifestyle"

and yes before you ask, obviously yes I would be going to the same swish venues as Benzema

Bet you would:lol:

Why are people keep saying Rafa has a say in the signings?

It's Perez who decides which players come and go. Not the managers.

Hilarious. Madrid is a tier 2 city at best.

Being rich in London, a true global mega city, is glorious.

If United were in London we would rival Real for players.

It's Arsenal, not Stoke! Of course players would be interested going there.
Nothing would surprise me with RM, and it would be extremely frustrating if he indeed is for sale and we are not interested.

Earning what these players earn it wouldn't matter where they went, they would still be living in luxury. It's overstated in my opinion. It's obicously a factor, but it's not exactly like Madrid is a slum compared to London.

The bank that bankrolled them is being investigated for money laundering

We would certainly be far more attractive for non British players. The fact is, that a lot of people prefer to live in big cosmopolitan cities like London. Young, successful people love to live in places like London. Even moreso, lots of partners of successful people often like to live there as well.

The key difference is the link I posted actually asked 200000 people from across the world where they would most like to live. The polls you link are think tank style rating that use their own selected criteria and not actual opinions of real people who actually make decisions on where they want to live.

I don't think footballers will ever take this considerations. Paris isn't that great of a city to live in in reality but it never stops the attraction from foreigners.

I think it's more this, i don't see them giving him any resources because he is merely there as a place holder till a more credible manager is available.

The link you posted is still a very odd survey and I doubt it reflects the reality well.

The survey found 44% of Brits want to move abroad for work. The French and the Dutch were most willing to up sticks among Europeans, with more than 90% desiring. a job abroad
I don't know who they asked or how many from each country, but I seriously doubt that 90% of the French are desiring a job abroad.
