I read somewhere that we would attempt a De Gea and Benzema deal. Probably bs. But you never know.
Might as well. We seem to have tried the "We'll give you De Gea for ______" for nearly everyone else in their squad.

Would be amazed if we aren't interested in him, seem to be obsessed with either Kane or bale.

IF Arsenal pull this off it would really change the dynamic of the title race, they'd join Chelsea and City with two bonafide game changers.
Why aren't we in for him?
Why would City sell Aguero with heavy rumors about Benzema going to Arsenal as they would surely be thinking something similar? Are they getting Zlatan and thereby aging their squad even more?
Strange summer for them so far. Their only signings so far have been a backup GK and a backup RB. And they have spent the whole summer having a public feud with their captain. I doubt they will sell their only striker at this point. Even if they plan on using Ronaldo more centrally.
A few people saying this will happen for Arsenal. If they do then they become genuine challengers I think. Can't really understand why Real would sell him though. Unless FSW wants to play Ronaldo up-front or something.

Well that's what I was implying. Agüero won't leave, ergo Arsenal won't get Benzema but if they did they would be joined title favorites with Chelsea for me.
Rumours are that Benitez wants both Ronaldo and Bale in the middle. They're both played there in pre season.
He played allot of games on the wing and would probably be joint 3rd choice ST, although it depends if anyones form drops. I really like Welbeck and his workrate can be invaluable. His end product is an obvious weakness but I'd like to see him progress. In a way he's almost too much of a teamplayer with the amount of defending he does. At Arsenal we tend to get shedloads of injuries so you'd expect him to get a fair chunk of game time.
Jese has been playing as a striker too. I still think Madrid would be mental to sell him and don't think they will. Would put Benitez behind the eight ball with the fans too I would've thought.

the only way this transfer is going to happen is if Benzema pushes for a move. Which he won't, as he seems pretty happy at Madrid. He isn't even asking for a new contract

Aguero is the obvious choice, but surely if they were going for him they would have started the courtship as soon as the season ended? They would need a galactico to replace Benzema and those don't happen overnight.
Unless Perez is planning on bringing Morata back, I can't see this happening.
They presumably would want Aguero but City would no way in hell allow that to happen. I'm still concerned at the prospect of Benzema landing there. IF he goes to Arsenal, we would essentially concede the title race to Chelsea and Arsenal.

I don't think it's impossible for him to be sold. There are a lot of rumours of Madrid wanting Reus/Hazard. I could also see Ronaldo being played in the middle as the striker (which he does a lot within his free role anyway). That being said, it would take a huge offer to tempt them I think.
There seems to be something in this, but whether or not Arsenal will pay 70m euros for him is another thing. They do need a striker like him as Giroud gets injured too often and Welbeck cant get 20 goals a season. I would love him here at OT especially after the showing Rooney had yesterday, we need a striker badly and he would fit lovely in our team.

You're telling me that their squad of last season just needs a new keeper - they got that one right - and only one more player ? That's nonsense, they were four top additions short in the second half of last season, they've added one are still three short - in my opinion.

Some matches last season the keeper cost them points, Swansea game iirc, the keeper should have saved it and they would have had an extra 3 points. I didn't watch every game though there could be more examples. But if they get Benzema then they have got a striker capable of 20 goals a season, with the midfield they have behind him then yes they definitely are title contenders.
I'm not even going to watch the game now that I already know what will happen.

We have two big issues: Rooney as 9, Mata as 10. It seems Rooney is undroppable so others will be sacrificed and LVG won't play Mata in his best position.

He still did his best to fluff a great opportunity, also Benzema is much better at link up play and off the ball movement which would create space, and thus more chances.
