On paper a nice run of fixtures but we have struggled against most of those teams recently. For instance we've won once against Pulis teams in the last five - Saturday is a huge game for us.
A trip to Palace rarely goes well for us either. None of the away games on that list are easy actually. Our record at Middlesbrough is relatively poor I think?
And 17 (to 11) is such a huge difference? 17% itself is for sure not enough to say long ball team. As I said, it wasnt a clever comment to make in the first place
I think the point is, it's a pointless point of reference to analyse the match through the number of long balls played. Possession was so lob-sided that it's a bit redundant to start giving undue attention to long balls.

They are great comments, but mostly because he doesn't want to get into this kind of narrative - the media nonetheless spun a headline out of the phrasing of their own questions. pathetic.
To be fair though, he does discuss the game, has a couple of cheeky comments about being a footballing side compared to a physical side and then when asked about Mourinho's comments says "I thought the game was over, I don't want to talk about the game". He was happy enough discussing it just before hand.
Such a shame after a bright start last season. I think I'd prefer him as another left back option rather than another CB one. Maybe we'll see him against Spurs midweek.

I am not sure that was a dig really. He's commented on our lack of height as a weakness before. Don't think it is coincidental that of the new signings, Karius, Matip, Klavan and Grujic are all 6ft2+.

.This was huge for me before last Monday but its not so huge now. I was fully expecting Utd to at least be level on points with us by now. And with us dropping points at WBA even a draw for Utd against Chelsea would put them ahead. (Why am I so obsessed? Because I think us and Utd are fighting for one of the two crucial CL spots regardless how early in the season it is).
Now that we have a two point cushion I'll be disappointed but not suicidal if we drop 2 points against WBA. The games after that I would hope we have a semi-decent run.

13/14 traumatised me so much that I never seem to be optimistic about any Liverpool game any more, always expecting the worst.

To be fair, I think we also played too many long balls.
This is the thing is dislike about Klopp, he emphasis that his team play football the 'right way' and criticises teams who play a more conservative/defensive approach.
This coming from the same man who used to put Steven Caulker up front when he was behind in games and pump long balls up to him.

I think he played Caulker up front as emergency striker coming on late each time, when I think the options were limited due to injuries.
The dippers are looking seriously impressive under Klopp.
According to Glen Hoddle we need to show that we can play this kind of football against the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea....not like we've beat them both away from home already. The standard of punditry in general is dog shit.

Very good offensively, but still suspect in defence, and defence wins you leagues. If they can sort that out, then who knows. But that year they imploded they were excellent in attack and terrible in defence. It's a problem if you have to score three goals every game to win, because it won't always happen. Same can be said of City.
Hard to judge this early, but I think they'll be up there (I do think they'll fall short, though).
