Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

Somethings off, they weren't the favorites before the start of the match by any stretch of imagination but to collapse the way they did and at their own turf is just extremely ominous, I couldn't imagine seeing it happening even when they more terrible than piss and shit back in the good days and it's not like this Madrid side as good as they are are the best team around anymore.

I think he needs to gutt the squad inside and out to even think of seeing the light of sun again and I don't think he has it in him anymore, he seems so exhausted and weary these days, maybe they'll be both better off parting ways.

I have a strong feeling we will come again. The boys are competitive. We will have an outstanding group next season. Where's it next season? Istanbul? Book the hotel.
Good lord that aged like rotten milk.

Even at our post-SAF worst, I don't think we were this miserable. This is such a steep and abrupt decline that it's hard to see how Klopp can turn it around.

Definitely, as they still have the same manager. It’s like Dr Fergie turned into Mr Moyes.

Utterly unhinged interview, him leaving by "mutual consent" In the summer is definitely on the cards

He is not speaking like a man in good health

He’s lost. Maybe he does need a change in scenery just to recharge and start afresh.
Ten Hag is a great example for him. Midfield crisis he took a midfielder on loan form Bayern who adds energy and passing range to the centre of the park. He took a striker on loan from Burnley, plays him as a 10 to use his pressing qualities to the fullest.
Where are those bursts of inspiration from Klopp? Fecking Gakpos your answer?

To be fair he said similar thing after 2018 CL Final and they went on to win it in 2019, probably believed they're capable of doing it again but seems like this is different team.

Has there ever been a manager who refused to sell players because he "likes them" like wheetabix teeth does? How does he still throw James Milner on?

I really think that Atlético job being open is really important. He can’t go to giants like Real or Bayern because the players won’t play that style or be inspired by his “passion”. He needs underdogs that can rally behind that idea and run themselves ragged for him.

The options for both him and Pep are so limited. They both need specific circumstances, while still needing the resources to compete at the very top.

Série A and Bundesliga just don’t have that. They can’t go straight to another PL team. So I really do feel like it is PSG for Pep and Atlético for Klopp.

And if that is the case, the window of opportunity is now.

Nunez looks like he is starting to find his feet.
Time will tell. He was never going to go the rest of the season and not score goals, but can he do it consistently and also tonight he showed again that he doesn't show much intelligence and is far to greedy.

He may well prove a success but it seems from some quarters where they guarantee he will be massive player for years to come. I'm still on the fence on that

have to think the end is coming sooner than later. This has run its course ... I'd imagine the "mutually decided to part ways" is coming at some point before the end of the season.

I know this week sound belittling of what they achieved under Klopp but I really do see their current state as simply their luck running out.

Virtually every single transfer worked out perfectly for them, with nearly all of the incomings proving to be absolute bargains. Add to them the sale of Coutinho for that incredible fee, only for him to go off a cliff, like I say, virtually everything transfer wise was perfect. That's really not normal, as you generally see at other clubs. What's more normal is you spend a fortune and 50% of them don't work out, which is essentially what they're experiencing now.

Taking the cheaper option of letting Mane go instead of giving him terms on a similar level to Salah wasn't probably the right call in terms of trying to continue on or close to their previous level. Maybe they just expected things to work out as perfectly as they'd done before.

If Klopp leaves then they get the uncertainty of a new manager with different ideas on players, i.e. can end up costing a fortune. If he stays but needs to replace the players that won't/can't perform for him anymore, then it's likely going to cost a fortune too. Either that or try pulling off a series of masterstrokes in the market again.

Needs to do the most difficult task in management which is to rebuild a team. Will be interesting to see if he sticks around or leaves.

Let’s hope when we beat them at Anfield, he gets the sack. Would be nice to repay the favour.

I want to know what happened with their transfer guru leaving because it seems to have completely derailed their only hope of competing at the highest level.

And it feels like Klopp knows that a) he doesn't have the funds to rebuild and b) he doesn't have a transfer guru to work wonders with the money he does have so he's stuck and he's lost.

Their cycle has come to an end and they need to steady the ship otherwise they'll really fall back. We were very, very fortunate that we became so big that we could still keep going throwing money at things after SAF retired and in spite of the Glazers, Liverpool don't have that luxury.

Hope he gets sack, but I don't see them finding a better manager. He's struggling with players' decline, and new players not at the same quality. It may take a long while for their stars to align, but he's still the best they could hope for for foreseeable future. Everyone is a downgrade (Poch, Tuchel) and they missed out a upcoming potential in ETH this time around.

The question is whether Klopp decides to walk.

He knows only 1 way of playing football and cannot adapt from his core tenants to fit his current players. Granted, some of his players have been totally misfiring for the most part like Salah and Nunez, but the midfield is a shadow of themselves during their best period and injuries have finally, finally caught up with them after a few years on the trot without multiple and significant time away for players due to injury or just normal regression in form.

Overall, he and the squad were not refreshed well enough at RB, nor midfield.

Classic Klopp. The way he describes counter-attacking football is like it is anti-football or something. He always try to lure opponents to play “good” football. It worked before. Not anymore. Like Ancelotti said, his teams are very predictable.

He looks unwell. Probably needs a good break away from football.

The rebuilding job already is too big for him I think, he only has what 2 years on his contract?

If they were going to rebuild they shouldve started with replacing Ox, Keita, Wjnaldum, instead they signed an equally old Thiago.

Now they have Fabinho and Henderson also to replace also..

Firmino, Salah, Mane..

There's just too many players now, and signing meh talents like Darwin and Gapko isn't helping them. Real has the blue print - you need to be signing young players well in advance of when you need them.

Fergie had the blueprint. Conveyer belt of players -- young prospects/academy; 2nd set of players coming into their peak, and set of experience/old heads.
