Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

Hazard was a couple of years younger when signed than Salah will be in summer tbf, and showed no signs of slowing down, he just literally physically collapsed the moment he landed in Spain, difficult to predict that would happen.

Now, as for our right flank, its as dead as can be, so even declined Salah would improve it, no doubt, but no way we will have him on those wages, and a big transfer fee.

I was a tad surprised you didn't sign Malo Gusto (though I've not seen a ton, just seemed like the highest rated young RB around), the right flank is the obvious place to address with at least one signing this summer, but probably 2 if the RW can also be a backup to Benzema, which is why I could see Salah happening, his numbers are still good. Wages are high, but the (somewhat reliable) stuff I found online suggests he makes only a little more than Asensio + Diaz combined, and he'd be a solid upgrade filling both guy's squad roles.

Embarassed, defeated, and exposed on the world stage. A harrowing night.

probably needs to go. it’s the problem with being a high energy, bouncy cnut. it works for a bit but everyone’s had a boss like that and eventually you stop engaging.

He should just walk outta stadium before final whistle and driving into sunset

This should break him. The amount of Istanbul hotel bookings he’s gonna be personally responsible for refunding, I mean.

I have a strong feeling we will come again. The boys are competitive. We will have an outstanding group next season. Where's it next season? Istanbul? Book the hotel.

5-2 would be bad enough.
But 15mins playing like their peak days and romping to a 2-0 lead, THEN losing by that margin!

Just too good.

More reason to watch last years final, Jurgen.

It is. Isn't it?

The 5th goal and the second leg being away just puts it that touch beyond even an all time display doesn't it.

When Barcelona were 3-0 up against them a few years ago, and that clown missed a sitter on 90mins, you did wonder if it's kick them in the arse, and it did...a big Anfield night and 4-0 win.
But at Real Madrid is an utterly different task.

I wonder if the era of managers building more than one great team with the same club is over. This would be a massive challenge to take up for Klopp. Over the next years he would either have to leave, or replace the likes of Henderson, Milner, Salah, Van Dijk and Fabinho to build a new competitive side.

If they miss on top 4 I think they'll part ways. Obviously Liverpool aint going to sack him but boy this has been a truly downfall season for Liverpool.

2 up after 14 minutes and continued to play open allowing Madrid to get back into it, god awful management but beautiful to watch it all unfold

No away goals rule improves their chances to some extent (of course they are small either way).

His face looks tired in every press conference.

Must be pretty depressing managing a decaying squad and not getting backed to make it better, and the two players you do sign are a bit crap (Nunez and Gapko).

Wouldn't be surprised to see him call it a day.

Imagine needing 3 goals away at Madrid just to level it.
Madrid will come out hard for an early goal which will pretty much do it.

Putting rivalry to one side, Klopp has done a great job at Liverpool but this is clearly the end of the road. Very few managers have rebuilt great sides on a commercial budget - our two legends of course, Bill Shankly I suppose but no others come readily to mind.

So Liverpool were perfect at the start according to Klopp but Madrid’s second goal is “slapstick” and should never happen.

Henderson said something similar.

Did they not see their own second goal?

Even at our post-SAF worst, I don't think we were this miserable. This is such a steep and abrupt decline that it's hard to see how Klopp can turn it around.
