Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

So only into his 3rd season can it be called his side? What a joke.

I'll wait to judge all managers until it's their third season with the club then.

3rd season, what are you talking about? He only joined in October 2015!

This is his first summer window - which part of that do you not understand? (little assuming he has apparently been at LFC for 2 seasons now....)

This his first real opportunity to get rid of players he doesn't want and bring a few in too.

@johnny boy

Let's be realistic here, no manager gets 2.5 seasons grace in the modern game. Two windows is plenty to throw the 'not his team' excuse out of the window.

He had only been at the club a relatively short amount of time when the January window came along - we can't realistically include that.
It's not even easy buying or selling - this summer is the first real proper window.

I agree manager's don't get the time, I guess all we can do is wait and see how much time he gets (but given he has already signed an extension - the current plan is a long term appointment), if contracts actually mean anything these days.

That's the spirit. You should have sacked Fergie after his first two shit seasons. Actually, you really should have..

October ffs! That was 8 games into the season, he had about 80% of that season to work with the team, get players in January and then the summer.

We all know why you're saying give him the next summer window too, that's because you can foresee the usual average Liverpool season and God forbid anyone blame Messiah Klopp for that.

I actually think Liverpool are a better team than Arsenal, but I could also see Arsenal making the top 4 at Liverpool's expense, and it's all due to mentality. Liverpool can beat Arsenal away and Barcelona at Wembley and get then get shafted by Burnley and Mainz, all because the players can't be "up for it." Arsenal will be up for it. They will beat the dross and pipe Liverpool in the process.

Jeez, it's not that easy bringing in or selling players in January especially when he has only been at the club for 3 months (not 3 years like you suggested.....).

He needs 2 summer windows to sort the crap out that was left behind.

Your comment about the Summer - what do you think he has been doing? Bearing in mind so far 11 players have been sold and countless released also.

Check your facts in future - his 3rd season?

He joined in October. So yeah, this is his 2nd season and you're claiming that only after a next summer transfer window it can be called his team.
I guess we'll hear that excuse over and over again.

I am saying he has a big job on and a lot of players to move on - that takes time, he has already cleared loads out this window. I am not claiming a specific period when it can be called his team.
I am though saying January has to be discounted for the reasons I suggest. He is only now putting his stamp on the squad, you can only realistically invest in new players & sell others in the summer window.

He may need another to get the squad together he wants.

Of course if we have a poor league campaign with no Europe questions will be asked.

Just give it time. Some more average Estonian Vikings, run of the mill midfielders like Wijnaldum combined with clownish defending and all the disciples of Klopp will lose it.

Fecking budget Vikings I tell you..

Their only really top drawer player is Coutinho, Sturridge has lost his pace and bravery. They do have lots of hustler, yard dog types though, as all Liverpool sides do.

Ahh, if I had a quid for every time a Liverpool fan whipped this one out to defend a manager doing a shite job.

They've all been Fergies-in-waiting, just haven't been given enough time.

Bringing up something from 30 years ago, they just can't leave the 80's behind them!

Yes, he'll be into his third season.

Unless for some weird reason managing got 80% of a season doesn't count. Had he won a trophy last season, would that not have counted as a Klopp trophy as you know, he didn't manage the whole season.

Crap players are always signed by the committee and/or forced on the manager by the owners. That's one of the basic rules that all scousers follow.

If they do badly, then it's always the previous managers team. If they do well, all you'd hear is how the current manager (nay coach) is a genius.

until they are sacked, and the cycle repeats.

Is there an uglier squad in the PL? I'm struggling to work out who has the biggest forehead from Mane and Clyne and thats not even mentioning Firmino

No Liverpool fan thinks Klopp is doing a 'shite job.' There isn't a manager in the world I would rather have in charge of my club.

My grandfather has supported the scouse for decades and yes, he thinks he's doing a shit job, also not happy with the youngsters shipped out for the dross you've bought. Ibe being the first mentioned.
Opinions I guess.

Ibe was pretty poor for us every time he played after Christmas last year. I'm not sure who the other youngsters are we should have kept.

Can I ask why his signings are being questioned already? There are some on here that still think Depay deserves a chance at United despite how poor he's been since signing and that was twelve months ago. Firmino didn't look like a decent player at all until January, and Ozil took a while to look like a world class player at Arsenal.

I don't think Klopp's been perfect but at least give it a couple of months before completely writing off the players he's signed. Mane's looked good early on but could easily have a dip in form like he did at Southampton last season. It works both ways so lets wait and see.

I think we're suffering a similar problem to United in that our captain is being played regardless of form or how it benefits the team. Henderson's never been a great player but he's been especially poor since Klopp became manager and yet he still seems to start when he's fit regardless of form. I don't understand why we went into the game against Burnley with only Henderson as a recognised midfielder when it was always going to leave us open to counter attacks. I don't know about anyone else but I've always felt that even an average defence can look decent if it's adequately protected by the midfield. If we'd focused on signing a defensive midfielder in the summer we'd not have this issue but now we're going to have to fall back to Lucas who has never been good enough for a side aiming for Champions League football.

Klopp's only been in charge for under a year but the shape of our midfield is a concern for me at the moment. I'm hoping he can sort it out because if he doesn't we'll end up conceding 50 goals again and getting nowhere.

Can't comment on what youngsters sorry, I didn't take much notice and I also don't really follow liverppols youngsters myself.
That was just one of a number of things anyway, it was also klopp antics that got on his tits, running players into the ground, playing Henderson (as you mentioned). basically a good old moan.
I was merely pointing out that not every Liverpool fan thinks the sun shines out of klopp sass and does not think 'he is not doing a shite job'.

If I had a quid for every time I've heard this one too.

Is that your response to everything?

Kraftworker: So how come when I let go of my quid it always falls to the earth?
Other: Because of the gravitational force. To be exact, it is best described not as a force but as a consequence of the bend in spacetime caused by the uneven distribution of mass and energy.
Kraftworker: Right! If only I had a quid for every time someone had spun me that bollox.

The best bit about Liverpool fans is that at any point in the year they will claim that man for man, they have either the best, or one of the best squads in the league.

The only time this changes is when a new manager takes over and then the squad becomes complete shit, apart from of course the 4 or 5 absolutely world class players they have that make up the core of the team (honest la, that Martin Skrtl could play for any team in the universe la).

By the end of this season, regardless of league position, cups won and new additions, Liverpool FC will have one of the top squads in the Europe, even if the finish 17th.

Sterling is a youngster. Also just sold Brad Smith who doesn't look any worse than Moreno.

If we count last season as a 'full season' then - next season he will be into his third season - just to clarify on that, don't want you making any more mistakes do we....

This is currently his first proper transfer summer window - not second, third or any other number you choose to add on.

Where do you lot invent all this from? Think you will find most of us accept our squad is not good enough - why do you think we have been moaning on for ages about signing a new left back & central midfielder?

You don't sell 11 players in the transfer window if you have a perfect squad.

I think Klopp is better placed to judge than us - Ibe was terrible last season, didn't kick on from when Sterling was sold. We couldn't believe Bournemouth paid over £20m for both him and Smith combined.
Also we have clauses in both contracts and buy back options as a bit of protection. Neither would have got any game time this season.

What's the general reaction towards the news of Sakho loan? Just last season, he was being labelled as your best CB by resident scouse on here with some even calling him world class.

Mixed. Some can't believe we would contemplate loaning him when we don't quite have a settled pairing yet with Matip just coming back from injury.
Some also think he is our best centre half, I thought Lovren was better last season and Klopp seems to rate Matip very highly.
Me I think a lot of our fans overrate him, he is prone to mistakes and passing can be sloppy. It could Klopp is still a little miffed about the his behaviour on the US tour, and with Gomez to come back feels we have enough cover.

Gomez I feel could be a real star.

So he needs 4 transfer windows and 2 full seasons (last season he managed for 80% of the season, so you don't have to be pedantic) before you can call it his side? I am just curious.

Think the same. He's way too error prone and inconsistent as a defender. Can be brilliant sometimes(like he was against us).

To be fair, Klavan, Matic, Lovren and Gomez looks a pretty average CB options. Think you will sign a center back.

I think he needs 2 summer windows. I posted a list of the players sold/released yesterday and it's a lot. I don't see how he could do too much last January when he had only been at the club for a short time.
Also as I have said January is notoriously difficult either selling or buying players.

I am not saying he won't be judged at all at the end of this season - of course he will, but he is clearly moving out a lot of players and getting that settled squad he is happy with takes time. Maybe next summer he might be in a position for less changes.

Don't really get the last page or so here. I love banter with the bin dippers as much as anyone but as far as I can see, LFC fans are being mocked for believing in their manager and wanting to give him time to properly get his own players in. Klopp, who is widely regarding as one of the best managers in the world and 2yrs ago most on here would have cum in their pants if he rocked up at Old Trafford!

I dislike the "next year will be our year" mentality of SOME Liverpool fans but their loyalty to their managers should be applauded in a time where if a manager has a run of bad results, most other supporters are keen to make a quick change.

Still think you're all dicks though :devil::devil:

Yes Sakho can be brilliant but can be clumsy too.
Lovren looked a different player last season.
Matip I honestly haven't seen enough of him and he only played his first game last night.
Klavan looked okay against Arsenal - less so at Burnley. Too early to say.
Gomez for a young kid looked very promising when he did play for us - whether he will fully recover from a terrible injury who knows.

Not sure we will sign anyone else now in this window.

Exactly - there have been some crazy comments on here!

Whats interesting to me is the fact that brendans Liverpool players nowadays are crap and must be shipped out allthough they came closest winning the league for ages. On the other hand klopps warriors cant do anything wrong while making 8th spot. I ask myself when the tide will turn as klopp himself said in his first presser that he will win the Pl in the next years

We came close to winning the league because we had Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling fit and playing at the top of their game Coutinho having a great season and Gerrard sitting in just behind.
We shipped loads of goals but scored so many. But we were winning every week and on a roll with proper momentum. Suarez was a massive part of that though.

Klopp will be judged like any manager, last season we got to 2 finals but yes league form was average. Now we have the likes of United and City spending mega millions, it will take time for us to compete.

You're the one making mistakes, that's what I've been saying since the start, he gets no leeway from me because he managed 80% of the season.

Coutinho, Sturridge, Firmino, Clyne, Can, Origi, Sakho...... all the best players in their squad according to Liverpool fans, are all Rodgers signings and players.

Mane is the new Klopp signing who is the only one that can join that list.

Klopp knew that Utd City and other clubs are some steps ahead financially and nevertheless made the bold prediction that he will win the League in the foreseeable future. At some point that prediction could be his downfall. I thought so right when he said it

10mins of YouTube vid tells you that Klavan is what he is, good honest experienced old pro who positions well & intercepts are good as a result. He's not a first choice Prem CB for a top club. So it's a surprise to me if Klopp lets Sakho go out on loan (more discipline messages?) or a bluff & it won't happen. Suppose that means Matip will go in there at some stage, it looks atm.

and ftr, the Liverpool fans on here seem like an amiable enough bunch to me. Not RAWK loons by any means are they?
