Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

Conte seems like a really likeable guy. Passionate on the sidelines too but not as wild as Klopp.
I'm convinced he's an alien. Watch his eyes closely, they're absolutely dead. When he gets excited & gesticulates wildly his mouth wide and screaming, watch his eyelids/eyebrows they don't move and his eyes just seem flat & lifeless. It's really weird. He's an escapee from the X-files, I'm sure.

Conte is a cool mother fecker.

Klopp is a try hard cnut, wearing fecking Beatles t shirts to pressers. "Oh look at me, I get scouse, la"

Nowt more than a banjo string that lad.

At least Pardew knows he's a cnut and doesn't even try to hide it

So Liverpool beat Arsenal and it's because of Arsenal's centre backs being shit. I admit they are / were. Most times we beat a big team its down to them not performing or blah blah.

I do see what your all saying but please when Liverpool beat a big team it sometimes has something to do with Liverpool being good and not letting them play.

Same as most teams. It's called football lads .

Not taking away anything from the performance, Liverpool were very good in attack. Just stating you can't base anything on a game against those CBs. Arsenal are a very attacking team and were always going to concede a few with that weak defence.

Nothing at all?

Well I suppose you could say Liverpool are very good at scoring 4 goals against 2 inexperienced center backs who have never played together. Also they still don't know how to shut down a game and came close to blowing a 4-1 lead.

But it is only one game. ;)

It is too early and not many conclusions to be drawn yet, and you are right closing the game down being a problem.
However, much has been said on here about the players Arsenal had missing, and rightly so, but not much has been said about the players we had missing too.

Whatever happens watching Liverpool this season certainly isn't going to be boring. :)

Genuinely, do people not get that it's the team he manages that gets on people's nerves?
Benitez
Dalglish
Rodgers
Klopp

All largely disliked by United fans. Four very different characters with distinct approaches but with one significant thing in common. It's fine, I get it. It's sane to did like a rival manager. But the lengths some go to to rationalise why these men aren't their cup of tea is amusing. Creating narratives about what's wrong with them - as if who they manage isn't the issue.

We've arrived at Klopp and the angle being taken is his gregarious and demonstrative nature which is regarded as disingenuous despite it being a pretty consistent behaviour trait his whole career. With a Rodgers it was his two-armed celebrations and verbosity in press conferences. There's always a good reason to dismantle these guys' characters...

But the truth is that the only genuine thing that gets people on here is who he manages. Unless, of course, these same people were offering the same commentary during his time in Germany.

Nope, it's who he manages. End of. Accept it. Hate but at least be honest why.

Do you think it indicates an attacking threat? Or will Liverpool's attacking players only thrive against inexperience?

Post of the year.

I am now interested to see how the derby would play out.
Tactically, this will be fascinating.
Is it two derby league wins in about 15 years for Everton. I'd say Liverpool have improved more than Everton over the summer. One-off games can go either way but Everton look the epitome of mid-table ambition in terms of acquisition.

I think the criticism of Klopp is a little over the top. He is a weird guy and certainly no saint (public humiliation of Benteke for example) but generally he is an interesting character and his team's play good football to watch.

Let's look at the other managers though

Benitez is a sour character and propagates an awful style of football.

Dagleish will be forever stained by his bizarre defence of Suarez, how do you justify that exactly?

Rogers is just a car crash of a human being. Completely self absorbed to the point where he thinks his farts are symphonies, evidenced by his David Brent-esque management style. He is unintentional comedic gold and deserves all the piss taking that he gets.

The point is that Alan Pardew or Phil Brown don't have to manage Liverpool for everyone to realise that they are absolute bellends.

Close but nah. The main reason people dislike them is because they're cnuts. Most football managers are cnuts; its not exclusive to being manager of Liverpool. Being Liverpool manager gives Klopp's cuntishness greater relevance to Man Utd fans, although even then plenty (including me) found him an irritant at Dortmund. But it's not some massive inconsistency to dislike all of those people.

People will do mental gymnastics to justify how their cnut isn't a cnut but the other teams cnut is but the truth of the matter is I struggle to think of a single manager I think is particularly likeable.

You should question how people are able to criticise Klopp whilst defending Mourinho etc but the truth of the matter is you already know the answer. See how quickly Klopp's 'consistent behaviour trait' becomes a stick to beat him with by Liverpool fans if and when results go against him.

Ultimately football managers, regardless of what team they manage, are a bunch of flawed individuals. It's more interesting to see how a fan base deluded them self into thinking otherwise whilst they are there. See the shift in attitudes towards Moyes and Van Gaal and your own fan bases opinion towards Rodgers.

Although saying that I can't particularly think of a reason to dislike Ancelotti and he's managed a who's who of the world's least likeable clubs but I'm sure there's people out there who do and who can point to a similar charge sheet against him.

You are always going to get differing views on rival forums about your manager.

Ferguson was obviously a great manager - but was also a grumpy bully of a personality. If Benitez is "sour" - jeez knows what Mourinho is then.
Someone disliked intensely by most football fans I would imagine.

Rafa will always be well thought of by Liverpool fans, whether it be Istanbul or the £96,000 donation & the tears that flowed at Hillsborough memorial services.

To be honest I don't really want United fans to like our manager that much, I don't get the dislike for Klopp without valid reasons, just being Liverpool manager I don't think is enough, but that is just me.
But I guess if we do well the dislike will just be exaggerated further.

Ranieri comes across as a really likeable guy - on here he would go from that to hated if he ever became Liverpool manager.

I liked Ancelotti despite him managing Chelsea and I like Guardiola despite him managing City. I didn't like Holloway when he was in the PL and I can't stand the likes of Pardew, Warnock and Phil Brown despite them never managing any semblance of a 'rival'. Klopp simply isn't my cup of tea, and that's it really. If he were managing Hull, my opinions on him would still be that he's very dislikeable.

I have always criticised the negative aspects of Ferguson character and there were many. As for Mourinho I like him because he is an unapologetic dickhead. It is guys like Pep that try to hide their massive egos behind a facade that irritate me. I think Klopp has elements of that in his character.

I like Klopp as a person, I find it difficult to find much to dislike. But this thread is destined to be a load of tedious repetition if Liverpool fans are going to get precious anytime he is criticised or someone says they don't like some aspect of him.

Seriously if you're going to get annoyed by United fans not liking your manager to the point it provokes you into writing long realms of text defending him at even minor criticisms, then you should probably reevaluate your time here.

Klopp is on the whole fairly well liked, respected and tolerated. Getting your panties in a twist trying to change the view of a minority you won't win over is pointless.

They were an attacking threat last season. Seemed to depend a lot on Coutinho's form, now they have Mane so I expect an improvement. I stand by my original statement. Can't base anything on one game.

You've said a lot there but not convinced me that tribalism isn't the chief motivation for the dislike.

Rather than being sensitive to him being disliked on here I was more offering an explanation and analysis of why he's disliked, which is at odds with the popular opinion that it's due to his touch line behaviour. Yes that must irritate opposition fans but it's the tribalism that's at the root of it - which is perfectly fine by the way. Just don't present it as a rational character assessment is all.

This. Klopp is an attention whore and a tries way too hard to be hipster and cool.

His eyes freak me out every time. Like a man who has killed too many people to care anymore.

There's positives and negatives from our performance. The only thing in favour for us going for the title is the one game a week scenario.

Can be done though. United V Bournemouth was a borefest. So not too worried about United... Your attack is what was missing from last season. You seem to have it now, but it's still slow football. I don't see you scoring many more goals.

Klopp wasnt sacked. Why are some guys in here so clueless? If someone post such stuff, be sure to know what you are talking about.

He wasn't sacked, he left by mutual consent it was just a huge coincidence that Dortmund were dangling in the bottom half of the Bundesliga despite having a squad the envy of most of Europe.

You've said a lot there but not convinced me that tribalism isn't the chief motivation for the dislike.

You're acting like tribalism is leading people to create perceptions of these people that are not supported by reality. My point is that the reality is that most of these people are unambiguously a bunch of wankers and who consistently do things to prove it.

Whether we get annoyed by it, or defend it, is perhaps based on tribalism, but justifying - or even liking - Klopp's antics is based just as much on your support of Liverpool as anything else. Just as much as the, current, good will Mourinho has with United fans is based largely on tribalism. It doesn't mean that Mourinho has suddenly stopped being a wanker, but you're willing to justify it - just as you are with Klopp - whilst they're your wanker.

My estimation of Klopp has gone from 6/10 to 5/10 because he now manages a rival club. No big deal.

The Klopp attention whore thing is completely false. He was so disgusted that German television was planning to put a camera solely on him during the Dortmund game that he promised never to talk to the station again if they went through with it. He even disapproves of Liverpool fans chanting his name in matches because ' there is a team,' not just him that creates the success on the pitch.

The irony is breathtaking. Mourinho at Chelsea, "I am Champion, but sacked." At Madrid, " I have record number of points. " His record against Arsenal," I never lost." Etc etc.

His resignation became public long after they turned things around.

I don't think anybody calling Klopp a twat or a wanker is presenting it as a rational character assessment.

I would say that equally it's tribalism that compels you post on a Man United website, and compels you to jump to your club/manager/player's defence over even fairly minor criticism.

Two sides of the same coin.

Agree with most of your post but you might want to look at your current and last manager if you think Benitez represents an awful style of football. He could be equally as entertaining (a lot of our 08/09 games were) but just set up defensively on the big occassions or in Europe, which is what made us so succesful in cups and Europe. Mourinho does exactly the same thing in a lot of games and while LvG wasn't exactly awful, he was just so boring you fell asleep after ten minutes.

I liked Ancelotti despite him managing Chelsea and I like Guardiola despite him managing City. I didn't like Holloway when he was in the PL and I can't stand the likes of Pardew, Warnock and Phil Brown despite them never managing any semblance of a 'rival'. You're just repeating yourself over and over again in this thread. You don't like Klopp and it has nothing to do with him managing Liverpool, we know it by now.

Fair points but I am presenting my opinions with rational explanation as I find that a more compelling way to discuss most things in life. In turn, it's why I enjoy posting on here - it gives me the opportunity to have decent debate. But if I see overt tribalism I'll often challenge it.
