Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

What the feck is happening there? Looks like Shaqiri is completely perplexed and doesn't give a feck what Klopp has said.

In any game of football you will get decisions for and against you. VAR is a handy tool and will improve decision-making but is not perfect - it's probably going to be the closest we're going to get in terms of nullifying human error. For once I'd like him to congratulate the better team on winning without piping up with excuses.
I agree completely regarding VAR, in no way was I suggesting it shouldn't be used. But taking minutes to prepare the "evidence" and then not use it is just about as moronic as you can get, the worst of both worlds basically.
Can't see why do people even pay attention to post match interviews to be honest so can't comment on that part. They are so generic and repetitive. I hardly watch or read my own team's interviews, let alone rival's. Unless one of them throws a hissy fit. That is always fun.

Shaqiri looks like he has no idea what the madman is talking about. He was expecting a well done and a pat on the back not an outburst.

I'm not even sure he's criticising Shaqiri at all here.

No he's praising him

And what's this "he picked a poor side"?

The point was that Klopp picked a poor side with Lovren's first game partnering Matip (Spurs 4-1 and Man City 5-0 anyone?) with Moreno yet had to blame the ref. I'm surprised it wasn't the wind this time
Just admit you got the team selection wrong. Don't run on field to berate the best player you had on the field you fool

Prior to Chelsea’s equaliser we’d missed chances to kill the game. We didn’t play badly.

Klopp and Sarri we’re both well within their rights to rotate for this game.

I watched the game. Chelsea outplayed you and should have been coasting after the first half.
Again you're missing the point. They are well within their rights to rotate but Klopp should have picked up a stronger defense (Moreno alone costs you at least 1 goal each match) and not blame the ref. How many times am I going to repeat the last part?

There's a reason this guy loses can't win anything.

Blame yourself for picking a poor team to play at HOME against CHELSEA instead of blaming Shaqiri and the ref.

The guy decides to lose his rag against Shaqiri of all people, the dwarf in the team but is afraid of Matip and Lovren. He is a loser and a coward.

He won't win anything this season again (after spending so much money) and you can quote me on this
 Been some banger posts lately. Anyways hopefully we’re not fragile enough to let this affect us on Saturday.

They were better for about 25 minutes and comfortable after going ahead. The rest was either even or we were on top. Their defence made more mistakes than ours did but they were clinical and we weren’t.

Robertson is a very important player for us and we’ve got four games in 12 days. This was the perfect opportunity to rest him and play the only other LB we have in the squad. That’s the whole point of having a squad.

It’s worse when there’s negativity around United. Everyone’s on edge and more desperate for us to fail than they normally are. The discussion’s are better when we’re both winning.

I heard Shaqiri has been sending love letters to Klopp's daughter.

The right answer is Klopp should have realized since 2016 after he cost you the Europa League Final plus countless other games that he should get a better backup LB. Stupid excuses.

The funny thing about this mickey mouse cup is that it was Klopp's way out of pressure if he didn't succeed in the harder competitions. Imagine Liverpool not winning anything at all this season, that would be some disappointment.

He’s been busy spending money on other more pressing areas of our squad.

Let’s not pretend that he completely ignored the Moreno issue though. After that EL final he moved Milner (yes James Milner) to LB the following season because he couldn’t get anyone he wanted, and knew that Moreno was a disaster he inherited.

Then he bought Robertson in last year to be a permanent replacement for Moreno, who is still a backup in Klopp’s squad because he’s spent the bulk of his money on the spine of our team instead of wasting his time looking for a backup LB, like he’s supposed to know that he’d be playing Moreno against Hazard in the League Cup 3rd round if he didn’t get one.

His FA Cup record is pathetic. We seem to pathetically limp out every season as soon as we possibly can.

I'd like to think Clyne will get the nod at leftback ahead of Moreno.

Klopp's post match reaction shows his frustration. I'm sure he is conscious of the fact that he should win some silverware this season.

It's early days, so take this with a pinch of salt, but it's quite possible Keita and Fabinho won't add a great deal to their team that they already don't have. Klopp hinted that he could beat Chelsea this weekend with Milner-Hendo-Wijnaldum. If this remains so, it's about time their luck with signings performing above and beyond expectations (Firmino, Mane, Salah, Milner, VvD) ran out a bit.

So after yet another early exit, this is what I picked up from the game:

Liverpool: Clyne looked really reliable. First game back and no cobwebs. Needed cover for TAA and thankfully we have it. Matip did quite well defensively despite being lumbered with an out of form and usually dodgy anyway Lovren. More cover. Shak was good yet again, he didn't let the game just pass him by. Studge is STILL not injured!

Chelsea: Good squad depth specially in defence. But so, so dependent on Hazard. Long season for the world cup semi finalist.

Yep I agree - he's had a free ride so far despite not winning anything. Feel Mou vs the media is pretty done now, it's hit rock bottom and Man Utd won't be challenging this season so Klopp might actually come under some pressure for once.

Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser.

These guys don't get to where they are by taking losses gracefully. And, frankly, if he wasn't pissed, I'd be pissed.

I think the narrative will be about the most exciting Title Race in years - Pep vs. Klopp, and they're both great guys.

If we assume Chelsea won't last the pace. Poch might be the next target for a bit of flak, esp if Harry gets injured or misses a penalty or something.
