Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

I mean, if I were a Liverpool fan I'd much rather he's hypocritical rather than sticking by his 'morals' and not taking the transfer window seriously. I don't think there's much wrong with that.

The blokes w*ker so no surprises here, their fans wont care if he's any good though; they're spending like they want to win the league, we aren't.

They better hope he settles in quickly, if not what excuse will they have if they win nothing again

The majority of the Liverpool fan base supports Klopp and can see how he's improving the team. Even if he had a bad season i'd suspect the majority would still support him.

Can you say the same of Mourinho? If he wins nothing i suspect he'll be sacked and you'll be back to square one.

Proper hypocrite but fair play. With a face like that he needs to match his behaviour to make it easy to not regret laughing at him. Sure to waffle some tedious bullshit over the coming season.

The irony...

This all day long. It's been far too long since a Liverpool manager wound Utd fans up to this extent. I couldn't care less about what he's said previously, we're in a different place now to what we were.
All that matters to me is getting the best possible players on the pitch in a Liverpool shirt and winning games.
If Utd fans hate him so much, that's not usually because he's shit so I'm quite happy. Hodgson was a favourite on here before he fecked England up.

Context. In 2016 £89 million was a huge amount to pay for a transfer. Neymar going to PSG inflated transfer fees and suddenly it was costing a lot more to sign players.

£20 million a few years ago is £40 million nowadays.

He didn’t need to comment on it at all but he was asked so he answered.

Pointing out hypocrisy means winding up now? He is hater because he is hypocritical cnut.

Yet no one paid even 50% of what you guys are paying for Alisson for any GK. These excuses are funny though, always excuses for spending big. FFS it's not wrong or crime to spend to improve team, just that he should keep his mouth shut when asked about other teams.

Kind of irrelevant how much this fee or that fee would have been 2 years ago when you are absolutely smashing the world record for a goalkeeper (nearly doubling) having already done so for a cb. It's not like other clubs are doing the same or paying similarly for such players is it?

Fwiw I don't care about fees and it's good business for you but so typical of Liverpool fans to do mental gymnastics to fit their agenda.

He's an idiot. Goes around pretending that he's some football purist and hates the modern game then goes and spends world record fees on players. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Liverpool end up out spending us, City and Chelsea this summer. But remember Klopp is doing it differently. :wenger:

There is no irony unless in your little head you assumed that somehow the waffling bullshit thing is relevant to only this clown.

The irony was the sentence before you accused him of waffling bullshit, you were waffling bullshit.

And in 2017 £75m was a huge amount to pay for a defender. What deal for a defender even comes close to that?

And in 2018 £70m is a huge amount to pay for a keeper.

Jose predicted the market back then and said that average players will make the Pogba fee look like a bargain. Praise for the foresight.

Compared to where we were under LVG days he has certainly improved us. Also for starters he has won trophies in his tenure at United, something which Klopp hasn't managed in 3 years.

You lot don't need to get so defensive with Klopp when he's being called a hypocrite and rightly so. Go pull up the figure in regard to his spending, it's anything but frugal.

Surely loving your own manager who is a hypocritical cnut and hating another manager who I agree is hypocritical (and you think he's a cnut) is hypocritical?

Klopp (Jul 2016) - "Other clubs can go out, spend more money & collect top players. I want to do it differently. I would even do it differently if I could spend that money"

I don't see how that statement can be taken out of context.

He starts off by mocking other clubs for spending large sums of money on players, then goes on say how he plans to do things differently. He then empowers his last statement by suggesting that even if he were granted the funds to go on a spending spree, he would still do it differently.

A year or two down the line, he breaks the record for both a defender and a goalkeeper - within a year of one another - making him a hypocrite of the highest order.

How was i being defensive? I never mentioned spending either and nor did i say Klopp wasn't being hypocritical. I'm simply explaining why Klopp would be given more time at Liverpool than Mourinho would at United. Or do you disagree that your fanbase is split as to whether Mourinho is the right man for the job?

Ah ok, I thought people were referring to his action of spending huge amounts but not what he said. I didn't even realise that he said that, which to be fair does seem very hypocritical.

And maybe, he's realised that the only way to win in this country is by spending more money than he ever expected. I agree that his comments are quite short sighted but I also don't think he would have said it if at the time, he didn't believe it.

Naive

Jees you won't get a bigger fan of Klopp (though I'm not a fan of Liverpool in any way) than me but, in hindsight, he was being really hypocritical in that comment there.

I'm sure if he knew how his future would go at the Liverpool he would not have said that, he was right in saying what he said at that moment given his history with Dortmund (his most expensive signing was Mhiki at 24 MP) and maybe he thought he could manage Liverpool the same way. Liverpool though, had higher expectations than when he was at Dortmund so he could not gradually develop the squad with young players, like he did at Dortmund. Liverpool required UCL football immediately and therefore he had to go out and buy quality players for high prices rather than develop them.

Jose gets lot of shit for his press conference. Not everyone is like Liverpool fans.

If the keeper deals come off he'll have broken the record for a defender and a keeper, but still both fees will be around half what they sold Coutinho for and still considerably less than Utd shelled out on Pogba. This being selective about "most expensive player in a selected position" is mental gymnastics. Until Liverpool spend £90m on a player (forward, midfield, defender, left-footed water-carrier!), they'll still be nowhere near paying the most for a player or even a player in the PL.

Fair enough, mate.

You're probably right in your assessment of the situation, but he's still a hypocrite either way.

I don't suppose Yeargarden 'la was expecting the £ 145 M from the Coutinho sale when he made his outrageously hyprocritical statement about himself being the King of Budgeting & Net Spending. The massive gobshite.

Excuses gonna have to good this year - stuff like concussion they hadn't noticed, strong breezes, pitch being a bit dry & teams fielding 18,000 defenders not gonna cut it now. The massive gobshite.

Their fans love him though that's for sure, possibly connected to him being a massive gobshite, imo.

Ugh if they sign Allison panic here will reach sky high levels. What the hell are we doing!?

There is none. I fecking hate Klopp, I think he is a cnut but at least there is a logic to what he is trying to do

We've been trying to 'fix' the midfield for the 2nd half of the season, and now we've gotten a midfielder known for his dirty work in the midfield as well as quickness of passing.

We've gotten a young fullback (can play in both) to deputise for our older fullbacks who usually miss games during the season.

We have been linked with Mandzukic who can play across the forward line and can actually play as a striker properly instead of some inverted inside reverse forward that Martial and Rashford need to play as to perform at striker. We have been linked with Bonucci and many think that our passing from the back is very poor.

All you are doing is the typical of assuming signings for other teams and assuming we don't make anymore. Your statement is out of place because the window is still open.

Of course I am doing typical assuming just like you are too my friend. Don't think you are doing any much different than me. Time will tell but personnally I have zero faith in Mourinho and I am dreading this upcoming season

That would be due to the expectations at the respective clubs are different. Making 2 finals and losing both of them was fine as long as Liverpool made top 4. We finished runner-up last season but had no trophy to show for and many are running out of patience.

Also, it's nothing new for Liverpool fans to put their manager on a pedestal. Same thing doesn't apply here, standards and expectations are much higher.
