Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

There’s something inherently punchable about his face. He reminds me of one of those cool dads who embarrassed his kids or one of those moochers in a bar who has no mates and ends up trying to join in with everyone else. Cringe. Man in 50s wearing baseball cap backwards. Cringe!

His face looks like someone cut a slit in a tennis ball.

In other words: net spend.

What the hell is a Klopp fan, exactly?

I get net spend from an accounting and finance point of view but what’s it got to do with football matters?

Some clubs lose their best players because they got old, some lose them for profit but everyone loses their best players sooner or later. Clubs then need money to fund new players.

Liverpool fans use the net spend argument as a security blanket of sorts when they fail to win the league title year after year. I believe that in order to become a fully fledged Liverpool fan, arguing net spend to a partially competent degree is a prerequisite. Liverpool fans deny this accusation with a passion. I remain convinced all the same.

Man United fan: The last time Liverpool won the league, Peter Schmeichel signed for United, won it 5 times, retired, had a son, and he won it with Leicester City.

Mandatory Liverpool fan response: Yeah but net spend.

United fan: Okay, you win.

Surely he isn't stupid enough to keep neglecting the GK position? Can't continue hiding behind the concussion excuse every time his rubbish keepers make mistakes.

So ready to pay 70 million for a keeper but moaned about Pogba fee. Hypocritical cnut

We paid €105m for Pogba, kind of a big difference in fees there. Not to mention the agent fees associated with such a move. It really isn’t anything like the same to be fair.

Juventus paid the agent fee, from the total fee. He doesn't have to pay exact money to be a hypocritical cnut.

Also paid 75 million pounds for VVD, Pogba was 89 million pounds.

Also every transfer involves agent fee, wages, not just for ManUtd. Liverpool paid more in agent fee than any club last year.

So they will sign Alisson and Fekir and to be fair, they will have a squad capable of competing. They actually mean business and are paying what it takes, unlike Utd who don't even know what we want.

Let me remind you that
- market is not the same and that Pogba fee would be 130+ today
- to further prove the market change, you've just bought some guy from a pub-level league for 50m based on a few CL performances.

Pogba was bought for Bale-level fee, the closest modern signing of a close level is Coutinho sale, at around 140m incl bonuses. We never spent more than half of that.

In short he is also another cheque book manager. Nothing surprising but the way he was against other teams spending big makes him.look like the biggest hypocrite

We signed Pogba in 2016, You signed VVD in 2017 Jan, big difference.

This is ever changing market, so he should have kept his mouth shut instead of acting like some idealist.

Pub league? Same team that players like Douglas Costa, Willian, Fernandinho, Mkhitaryan played. Sounds like a ignorant post, which isn't surprising for a guy who is desperate now.

Re bold part, Liverpool fans and this calculations. Essien calculator would hang his head in shame.

Throwing the final roll of the dice.

3 years and no return on their heavy spending. He has to get this right so is pushing the club to the limits. German Harry Redknapp.

Didn't this guy moan at the prices other clubs paid for players?
Then he buys a defender and a gk for £70 million each?
Don't think the word hypocrite is strong enough.

"Actually, I want to do it differently. I would even do it differently if I could spend that money. The day that this is football, I’m not in a job any more."

What market change? PSG and Barca went mad for one summer, you lot have started to spend a fortune..
The rest? Where are these big transfers? If anything the market has settled back down.
Pogbas fee of 89m in 2016 has not grown to 140m in two years on fecking inflation!

Hypocrisy or not, he’s going to have a massively improved squad this upcoming season. If they gel/pick up where they left off, they’re going to be a real contender this season. They’re having the best window in the league by far if Fekir and Alisson join. Annoying as feck, but fair to them. They have a clear direction/vision for the future and style of play. We can’t claim to have any of these right now.

The first 11 could be approaching 400m on transfers if they sign both Alisson and Fekir.
Which is horrendous quite frankly

Nonsense. No return, really? We're finally a great team again. Getting back into regular CL play and challenging for cup trophies is still more than acceptable enough for most Liverpool fans, and rightly so. We're also doing more than fine economically, having finally started making profits again.

City and Utd are in a league of their own when it comes to money spent. We're talking hundreds of millions more than Liverpool in the last 4 years. Not to mention you lot pay a lot more in player wages than we do.

It's what it all comes down to really, I hate the feckers but they've got their shit together recently. They'll be up there next season, no doubt in my mind about that.

Sure, they got a good squad, but they weren't that good defensively, and neither Fabinho or Keita are proven in the PL.
Karius also looked like a good GK when they signed him, see how that turned out.
On paper, it looks good, though.

Agreed, they are ahead of us in terms of play style, and now for the first time personnel (alisson and Fekir pending). We are looking at 3rd at best and may be lucky to achieve top 4.

Man, I'm Ukrainian, and it hurts alot to see our football degrading, but atm it is a pub-level league. Players in midtable teams get half-year salary "delays", sometimes trying law suits to get their money. Clubs from lower tier refuse to promote to premier league because they lack money for entrance fee, so FA has to offer places to whoever is able to pay. I could write a lot, but just trust me - Fred had no competitive domestic football outside of a few matches with Dynamo per year. And you've paid 50m for him. Doesn't mean he's a poor player, he can come good, but it's not a given.

Market has changed globally. Check Morata, Lemar fees, and what is asked for Savic or Belotti.

Yeah it's a shame, there's still time left in the window so I'm crossing my fingers that we'll be looking much healthier personnel-wise come the start of the season.

FSG have backed Klopp well though. Coutinho money reinvested as well. Class owners.

If Klopp doesn't win a trophy again (hopefully!), he will have run out of excuses. This is a top class transfer window for them.

So Klopp should have known better before opening his mouth. Why moan when you end up paying 140 million for 1 GK and 1CB.

Hope this means Karius and Mignolet getting binned off. Ward as #2

They better hope he settles in quickly, if not what excuse will they have if they win nothing again

What are the cnuts Chelsea up to? Wrap up Alisson already ffs.

If the lastest rumour about Curtois to Real is true, i'm sure Chelsea will bid for Alisson pretty soon.... atleast i hope so.

See things like this you always have to ask: excuse for who? Their fans are delighted with him and with whatever happens even if they win nothing. Klopp took over a Rodgers side that was basically mid table after they didnt have Sterling and Suarez anymore. 3 years later and they have top players all over the pitch and were just in the Champions League final and have qualified for the CL pretty comfortably 2 years in a row, along with playing some of the most exciting football in Europe. Its not always trophies or nothing. Just like how Spurs fans will never complain about Pochettino. Different expectations and goals. They hope to win a trophy, but first they have to establish themselves with the bigger teams which takes time.

Anyway, having a better team normally means a better shot at winning things in the future and a smaller chance of flopping and falling out of the top 4. Teams that do that suffer massive set backs generally.

They've done some great business.

We may find ourselves third to them.
I'm wary about Chelsea too if they keep Hazard. No Champions League distractions, a manager that plays exciting football, looking like they're signing Golovin in addition to Jorginho (midfield 3 of them with Kante is class) and then lots of talk for Higuain up top... They do have a habit of winning the title every other year with the year in between being a mess. They'll bounce back for sure next year, especially with the quality they have on paper.

We need to start making moves otherwise we're in danger of being left behind the top 3, at least on paper.

Proper hypocrite but fair play. With a face like that he needs to match his behaviour to make it easy to not regret laughing at him. Sure to waffle some tedious bullshit over the coming season.
