Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

Burns his players out. By the end of the season, they just can’t do it anymore.
Pointless nearly getting there all the time but not being able to get over the finish line.

His squad his ridiculously small, having to play TAA in midfield away to Chelsea is embarrassing.

That's why Liverpool will never be close to the title soon, they need 10 or so players to improve the first team and squad.

You would think that his high intensity strategy is not sustainable over the course of a whole season.

His top six record has been crap this year.

A few of your fans on here absolutely roasted me for suggesting it'd be hard to repeat last season's record against the top six this season. Apparently those points were essentially in the bag and all that had to be done was beating the lesser sides.

Never that simple.

He didn't have to. He chose to.

Depends on the league.

English football puts a lot of focus on physicality and work rate. That means Klopp's teams will have to work harder to get to the same level.

La Liga and Seria A are slower and more tactical, the German league is a weak league (arguably weaker than Seria A).

I don't see Liverpool winning the league under Klopp, there are too many teams that can outspend them. In the German league all it took was Bayern underperforming and the league became a free for all at the top. In the PL, if one team underperforms there are 2 more teams with loads of money ready to pounce.

Yeah, agreed.

Klopp after the Chelsea defeat:
"They had quality and a defensive plan, they played with eight men around the ball, and two very good attacking players. The longer the game goes on, it gets more difficult, we didn't have space to cross."

Ending stats:

Goal attempts: Chelsea 12, Liverpool 10.
Corners: Chelsea 3, Liverpool 1

Yep, that was a defensive performance Jurgen. We'll also ignore your long ball tactics towards the end of the game.

It's those two very good attacking players. Maybe he should try playing with two very good defending players and see how that turns out.

I mean, cutting through the bullshit, he’s basically saying that Conte tactically outsmarted him today.

Hopefully Brighton don't just cave in because they are already safe. A good defensive display and Liverpool could be in the Europa League next season to tell us how that's better than the Champions League anyway.

True. To be fair any half-decent coach will outsmart him as long as they don't play into their hands - as the likes of Pep and the Roma manager stupidly found out.

Especially after how they played against us on Friday.

Two losses, 2-5 goal difference since Buvac left. Seemingly no plan B, the second half was almost only hoofball, which the German cheerleader supposedly hates... Liverpool in the Europa League next season with Klopp losing another final would actually mean it's been a good season overall!

Yes please, a Liverpool loss in the final, plus a drop to Europa and a United FA Cup win and Sir Alex getting back to normal will be an excellent end to the season. If the first three options don't come to the right conclusion i know all of the football world and especially United will be hoping and extremely happy with just the last one coming true.

But, but, but....according to some football know-it-all-never-been-to-a-live game-never-played-football experts in here, he is a genius!!

Won't this be the second season in a row in which they stay comfortable in top 4 the whole season then crumble by the end and ending up scrapping it by one match ?

At least we’ve had more pressing matters to deal with this time around. No Europe last season so looked a whole lot worse.

I'm not getting too excited. Brighton are on holidays now. They'll get pumped 4-0 next weekend.

I was celebrating your loss to Brighton and people thought I was wumming. I didn't care about you losing as it didn't matter to you. But it did to them and ultimately us.

You'd have to think Brighton will be all over the idea of doing the double over United and Liverpool.

Yep, it was the result which gusranteed Champions League football for you next season, no question. If Brighton still needed something at Anfield, I still wouldn't fancy them to get a result there but they have nothing to play for next weekend and I think you'll steamroller them ahead of Kiev.

Brighton also have City midweek, while we have a week off. No excuses for us if we can't secure the win.

Yep if we feck this up considering how far ahead we were then we don’t deserve to qualify - via top 4 anyway.

Bitterly disappointing. But our players have experience of late surges from last season. Hopefully we can see the job through again. More appropriately hopefully Wagner and Rafa can see the job done for Klopp.

His teams cannot win the PL, his team is perfectly suited for a knockout competitions over two legs , especially against teams that play defensively naive aka roma Porto. Were they paired against someone like Juve or even spurs they would have been knocked out.

As a manager he must evolve his tactics as it may not be suitable to win major trophies consistently.

Its never straightforward with us is it - always have to suffer at some stage. In a way its not that surprising that we have dropped off in the league, with a spate of injuries at just the wrong time and lots of tough mid-week CL games. I'm still confident we can beat Brighton and not have to rely on beating Madrid to qualify.

Yes I think you will beat Brighton handy and then two weeks rest before the final which your players look like they need. It is a long time to be sitting and dwelling on a single game though.
