Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

Eh

Every other press conference he has a dig at us. This threads full of such examples. He’s obsessed.
No he doesn’t. It happens every now and then at best, and most of the time it’s because he’s asked a question relating to United.

He went through a period last season where he kept bringing up the goal you scored at Old Trafford which was daft, but I guess it irritated him.

You mean he was the one asked about Man City’s last game so he answered and was generally very complimentary to United. Only mildly negative thing he said was him saying he would have been unhappy if he wasn’t given the penalty that City weren’t given (which 90% of people are saying was a penalty). You guys just seem to love getting your panties in a twist over nothing, why not watch the press conference instead of just getting upset over one line quoted on here. As I said, generally he was pretty complimentary to United and even called you a world class side if I remember rightly.
Don't you realize you're on United forum? Asking people to watch Klopp press conference, which usually long... :wenger:

Point was already made. He could have sidestepped the questions. As if we care about him being complimentary about us (as you pointed out, nobody cares). Klopp not talking about is more appreciated than both compliment & dig. Reason? He's L'pool manager

Yeah I realise that but like I never understand why people go mental over something that haven't even watched, just read online completely out of context.

But like I said, he was asked about the his opponents previous game, I think it's pretty reasonable to talk about that if you're asked in a press conference about it. Well if you don't care about him being complimentary why do you seem to care so much about his opinion when he says something not complimentary? Honestly, I like to hear what other managers think about my football club. If Mourinho wanted to compliment Liverpool in his next press conference I would be fine with that and if he added something related to the game before that was a poor decision then fair enough. Just honestly don't see why you guys seem to think it's such a bad thing. The thing that baffles me even more is you guys saying he's "obsessed" with your club or whatever, yet you have a forum with 457 pages of comments about him. I think it's a pretty normal thing to discuss other clubs and other clubs managers.

Klopp should just do a Rafa and write a pre-emptive speech for his next presser to get it all out. Liverpool managers love talking about us.

Klopp was asked about City's previous game. He talked about City not killing the game off (dig at former player), and then a decision that went United's way (dig at arch rival).

He's a lot better at press conferences than Guardiola, much more endearing to Liverpool fans. Guardiola called Man City the english Sevilla last season, if he hadn't won the league this season he would be in massive trouble.

You seem to miss the point on purpose? He is rival manager, not a commentator. He has right to not to talk everything he think out publicly.

Are you living in heaven? I meant almost nobody would appreciate rival to get into their shoe. What you describe is surreal from what I see in real life. Compliment: I don't care. Having a dig: you poke the bear. The key here it's put out in public as from a manager. There is some standard, expectation than forum. Forum you have moderation to step in if thing escalating. Managers? He can't be banned from his own press conference, can he?

He was asked if the last two results for City gave teams hope they could be beatable next season. He wasn't asked to analyze the previous match, he chose to take the question there so he could talk about United. Same with the question about the Young decision, he was actually asked about the referee for the CL games, decided to pivot to the United game instead.

It's funny how Liverpool fans in this thread keep insisting that we're the ones obsessed, when all we're doing is laughing at your manager for repeatedly making silly digs at United for no real reason. And then you have to come on to a United forum to tell us that. Who's obsessed? ;)

Absurd for a Liverpool manager to comment on a United game not involving Liverpool. He actually appears a little too affected/interested in our club to the point where it comes across as really small time.

He knows Liverpool fans will like the comment and it was pretty innocent all in all. Whether you think he should refrain from answering such questions is up to yourself of course but the holier than thou attitude from some "how dare a manager comment on a team other than his own" is pretty laughable imo.
Nothing laughable about it at all. You'd think his club was big enough to pretty much be the whole of his focus. While commenting on United doesn't mean he's unfocused at his job, he comes across as really petty regarding United. Taking little potshots whenever he can. It's like he's managing some tiny neighbour of ours and gives off the impression that United are on his agenda more often than they should (given Liverpool are also a big club).

I always liked him as a manager but you do have to wonder about some of his comments.

And he did go down abit in my estimation after that celebratory draw at home(to West Brom if I am remembering correctly)to whoever it was.

Klopp was asked if the previous 2 results show that City are not invincible. He simply explained why they're not, even said United are one of the best teams in the world and City could of scored 5 or 6 goals against them in the first half shows their strength. He's obviously going to big up City rather than criticise and provide them with more motivation for tomorrow.

I don't understand why if a manager mentions another team it means he's obsessed, there's multiple thread on this forum about other teams and managers that doesn't mean United fans are obsessed.

I didn't hear nor have I seen this quote about United being world class or one of the best? Where has that come from? He definitely doesn't say it as part of the answer you're referencing. It's fair enough that this press conference in isolation doesn't prove he's obsessed, however taken in context of his previous utterances it's right in the trendline.

Again, I don't know why Liverpool fans are so upset about us commenting on it. If someone talks about your team, I'd imagine you're entitled to discuss their comments on that team's forum. Which is what we're doing.

I havnt seen the context of the presser but yeah of course he can speak about the derby in relation to his opponents last few games. While there are some on here who will jump on anything he says because of who he is, the Ashley Young quote has nothing to do with your game

Not so absurd when the game in question was one which involved his team's next opponents?

Eh? He could have easily spoken about City without making any references to United outside of acknowledging them as City's last opponents, and he didn't even have to do that.

What's worse than Klopp's statements is that you have genuine Liverpool supporters coming onto a Manchester United forum trying to defend his obsessive comments in what is essentially a piss take thread. Dear God.

Liverpool supporters coming onto a Manchester United forum to tell Manchester United fans they're obsessed with the Liverpool manager after the Liverpool manager brought up Manchester United in a press conference for a game in which Liverpool are not playing Manchester United.

Top drawer stuff.

Fair play to @Klopper76 , he's the only Liverpool fan that's quite likable here. The others are extra annoying tbh, no offense.

Every week ffs. It's a prerequisite to be a scouse manager eh

None taken, although as a Liverpool fan, aren't I supposed to be offended by everything?

I don't notice you commenting much tbh. Meant the others in this thread who are well known.

Let's be honest, it's very annoying to come to a rival clubs fan to tell these rival fans to talk well about the manager of my club. I can't imagine myself doing it.

I miss Rafateria. Winding up the resident dippers just isn't as fun without his guaranteed explosive reaction

Any chance he could be reinstated?

This. Utterly hilarious. I do not find Jose's pressers enjoyable, but they are much better than Klopp's for sure. Here's hoping neither Pool or City reach CL finals and we finish 2nd in the prem.

Haha!
Oppo fans can be good fun to have on here. But a lot seem to want to incessantly put out fires with anything related to their team and it’s gets boring if they keep going at it.
Balance.

He gave his opinion on a tackle.. So what? I struggle to see, how it was disrespectful to you. It's not like Mourinho or Ferguson was shy of giving their opinion regarding other clubs matters.

Just weird though, isn't it? He's had form for randomly bringing up United or things that happened ages ago *cough* offside goal *cough* and just making up weird excuses like it being windy or Plymouth having people in it. You're about to play the biggest game of your season so far, and in his pre-match press conference he decides to comment on a tackle made during a match in an entirely different competition, by a player from a team that you aren't playing, and won't be playing again until next season.

There's no mind games to play, and it's a really weird thing to bring up. He even said United were lucky to win on the weekend and that City could have won 5 or 6-0, which if anything, will just serve to fire them up.
