Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

He believes his own hype imo and thats never a good thing in football. You can just see by his lack of activity in the market that he believes he can turn water into wine, instead of going out there and getting some great grapes.

I thought he was pretty likeable when he was at Dortmund. But he's become very unlikable since he's been at Liverpool. Behaves like a lunatic.

Wasn't Dortmund utter shite the last two seasons of Klopps time there?

Other than three great seasons, what has the guy actually achieved?

He won a few trophies during Bayern's bad years..... I think I'm right.
A lot of pundits in Germany predicted the crash of Dortmund due to the nature of klopps demands.
Suppose you accept the risk if it wins you 2 titles but the league is so fierce in the prem I can't see it working.
Too many teams play direct so the press they use doesn't really work the same

3 consecutive draws.

We have our problems.

And people are forgetting that we have Spurs, City and Arsenal all away in our last 10 games of the season.

These games never worry me.

It is the shithouse teams like Hull, Sunderland etc that sit back with 11 men behind the ball that we struggle against.

The likes of City etc open up so we can move the ball quicker around them.

We drop points against the shittiest of teams.

That's technically our problem too, isn't it? We've been doing well against the top 6, but Swansea, Burnley, and Hull come to mind...

2017 for Liverpool is turning out like 2016 did for centrist, fair minded political causes.

The only solace right now is that there are 4 other sides capable of dodgy results.

Our form against the top teams hasn't been good either.

Only one win against Spurs.

Walloped by Chelsea, beaten by City at Home, draw against Arsenal, double draws against Pool.

The Arsenal and Spurs games are also back to back.

It is a little bit strange to see modern football fans mocking Klopp, always with the same argumentation, overrated and all that. The same has been said from Guardiola this season, Wenger, well even I say that he is not top level anymore, and lets remember at the beggining of the season what was said about Conte.

Now speaking more seriously, for me Liverpool expectations were relatively high to the quality of their squad, for me they have maybe the 5th best squad from the league, United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal have better squads, and if Klopp is a failure, what about Mourinho and Guardiola with the players they have?

Shouldn't they be doing more with the amount of money spent?

Even if Mourinho or Guardiola don't win today I will not say they are overrated based on that, each one of them has their concepts of football, and today we live in a fast food world, where analysis are only based when you win, it does not matter the resources or quality of football.

Lets see if they will invest in the summer, they sure need more players, but I guess he likes more to develop good players into a good team, based on his ideas and concepts of football, nothing wrong with that, the same goes for Guardiola, if he wants to play his type of football why should he be criticized if they will spend money to bring his type of players?

This is true but we really should have beaten Liverpool at home, and we absolutely battered Arsenal at OT. Their equaliser was their first shot if I remember correctly in something like the 89th minute.
Yeah the performance at Stamford Bridge was dire, but then look at Arsenal there yesterday. They got soundly beaten too.
City's first half performance at OT was one of the best displays I've ever seen from a team coming to our ground.

I honestly think we'll take 4-6 points from those 3 away games mentioned, which isn't the end of the world.

I remember the days when Liverpool were winning and this thread was active every single day with people fawning all over Klopp.

I've always felt everything he done at Liverpool was overrated and blown out of proportion and nothing has changed that view.

It's interesting that the fair and better LFC posters on here are taking the flak for the ridiculous claims of the WUMs.

Unsurprisingly they've been pretty quiet too, not as active as they usually are- not as much to say as they usually do. Hmm...

Holy crap. Are they actually going to miss out on top 4?

I agree. I think some of our dippers deserve a lot of credit. It can't be easy being on a bitter rivals forum and trying to keep some balance while you have people who hate your team constantly trying to wind you up and rip it out of your team. They've got natural bias to their side too so are naturally going to be upbeat when they are winning or over rate their own players sometimes just like we do.

Personally I'd rather have them as they are than have our own version of Johnno White.

This. To be fair not one of them claimed they'll win the title or that Mane will make them a force again or something. Not that I've seen it.

He's done wonders with the absolute rubbish that he's got at his disposal. The fact that they are even in the top four conversation is an achievement.

The only thing that rings true in this recent gloating is the continuous denunciation of his persona." His 'lovable' personality was a reputation established long before he became pool manager and by our own fans fawning over his supposed charm. Such a character", and "so charismatic", was a really hard reading for a while.

Sorry but that's just rubbish. You don't have to be an apologist (a claim I could make of a couple of our other Pool posters but surprised at you TBH) just because you are on a United forum. Firmino, Lallana, Milner, Clyne, Henderson and Matip would all have claims for slots in some of the Top 6 teams, just because they collectively were utter shite yesterday doesn't nullify the reason we have being playing well for so long.

Our downturn in form has coincided with the loss of Coutinho & Matip, then Henderson and now Mane at AFCON. This has meant a much poorer central defence leaking goals, a midfield that lacked cohesion and a disjointed attack that lacks the direction and pace that Lallana sitting in midfield and Mane on the wing, has given them. Bringing Can into the team has hindered not helped.

I was very wrong on the depth of our squad and being able to cope with loss due to injuries .. but then I didn't foresee the loss of so many key players.

Rafa I'm not bringing this post up now to antagonise as we're both in the same boat with holes in. But I wanted to wait until all the players were back and you could see the evidence for yourself. I'm no apologist, that bit you're right about. I've proudly been a pain in Utd fans backsides for a decade and a half and I'm not softening now.

The players we have are not as great as our fans make them out to be. Klopp makes them into 9 out of ten shags but in the morning when the make up is off you're left with a 5 or 6 out of ten minger spooning you. That is the magic of Klopp's potion.

FWIW Klopp will replenish that potion and ensure we finish top 4 but we should never forget that moment we woke up sober. We need some serious first teamers in the summer so the likes of Lovren, Firmino, Lallana, Clyne, Weeji and Milner are bench players for cups and Europe only. Obviously sacking the likes of Studge, Klavan, Lucas, Can, Ings.

That's a huge swing of players and the bare minimum to achieve that we'll need to dangle the CL carrot (as mentioned above we should achieve that with the remaining magic dust in Klopp's satchel this season).

I find Klopp extremely detestable, even more than Rodgers which says a lot. I never bought into his hype even when he was at Dortmund and I'd never want him to be the manager of United. Let's not forget in his last two seasons at Dortmund, the players got burnt out and in his last season in Dortmund, they ended up finishing 7th and got embarrassed by Juventus at home in the Champions League. So what did he do? He resigned. What a coward. His style of play is also extremely crash and burn and when his team is down, he doesn't seem to have a plan B. Someone pointed out earlier that he probably masked his deficiency in tactics with his loud and over-dramatic personality, I'm actually convinced this is true.

@Dumbstar How can you have been a pain in Utd fans backsides for a decade and a half when Liverpool have not won anything?

Klopp's problem is not players or lack of. He does not vary his tactics. Even Rodgers at least tried to change that even if he failed.

If Liverpool get caught in the Europa Cup slot this season, he will really be put to the test next season. I doubt he will pass it.

You just know he has been one of those annoying Liverpool supporters down at the pub, pissed off their rocker and drunkenly mumbling "five tiiimeess, laaa!" repeatedly.

he is an alright lad.

but a number of these scousers are simply delusional.

Yeah he is. Tbf we mostly have good Liverpool supporters here, with some added spice of delusion from @Rafateria and bitterness from that guy @njred who magically appears when they have a rich vein of form.

Nah, you guys have made @Rafateria into your "deluded liverpool fan" because he's very defensive of his opinions and has a more optimistic view of things. And because you guys desperately want a RAWK-ish poster you can rip into, and he's the closest thing you've got, even though he's pretty level-headed and realistic in his opinions. He's a good poster

He got ripped into by a fellow scouser. He's not level-headed, realistic or good.

They've won 1 out of 10 ever since this quote & are now out the Top 4.

I fecking love the ignore function, not read any of his posts for about 18 months but it would appear nothing has changed.
I done that with GlastonSpur within 2 weeks of getting promoted. Compared to him Rafateria isn't too bad tbf.

in all fairness to Klopp i looked at liverpools squad in the summer and i thought now way their getting top 4, think its impressive he even had people talking about them as possible title contenders for a while

Glaston is ok and seems an intelligent lad.

Rafateria is your archetypical/cliched Liverpool fan. Like, it's textbook. It's all I will say on then matter because I don't want to break Caf rules by being personal. He is probably a nice guy but I have only seen him try to be condescending with everyone.
