Can you imagine the whining from him if they do & he has to play more than one game a week.
This is why they and Spurs haven't really progressed despite having youthful squads and main rivals going through transitions, qualifying for the CL through finishing 4th is ingrained in them like its a mission statement. Achieve that they start acting like 13 time PL champions and then you see them resting players in a CL game so as to have a fresh squad in their chase for another 4th place finish. Pathetic mentality.
Apparently they'll go out and buy four or five world class players to increase their squad. The title and the CL are basically already in the bag for next season

What's happened to Can? Haven't watched him a whole lot this season but he seemed to be well regarded, not just by Liverpool fans but in Germany as well. Reminded me of Khedira in more aspects than one.
But he did put a foot on the ball for both chances and it wasn't in.

You couldn't have complained if you were already 5-0 down on aggregate before Sturridge even had a sniff. You were battered over two legs and Southampton just looked a much more cohesive and threatening side. Redmond alone should've had a hat-trick in the first leg. In the second leg, Tadic and Davis both missed chances in the 6 yard box before Liverpool had even made it near Southampton's box.
There was nothing lucky about their victory. You were lucky it wasn't more embarrassing. There's only one person here seeing what they want to see. Clueless.

You spent the entire summer telling everyone that Liverpool's squad was great and you had two good players for every position to cover absentees. And anyone who didn't agree didn't understand football or whatever precious nonsense you come out with when someone disagrees with you.

It's a very weird mentality and I think it probably explains why Liverpool have won so little in the last ten years.

It is indeed weird: I find it hard to understand why a team that has not won a trophy for ages would prioritise top four over progressing in a trophy. It isn't as if they have a good chance of winning the champions league when they qualify.
Disappointed to be out of the FA cup but I wasn't hugely surprised we lost with the team we put out.
I'm still fairly optimistic about our league prospects; with six games until April - an upturn in form should be around the corner.
We really should have done so much better against them.
We should have but there were mitigating factors I think.
This season they've beaten Arsenal and Chelsea away, beaten City at home and haven't lost to us or Spurs. They raise their game against their rivals, I don't know why. It must be a mentality thing. I fully expect them to get something from the game on Tuesday against Chelsea.
To face all those teams and be unbeaten and yet lose to Swansea and Bournemouth and Burnley and Wolves and Southampton etc is ridiculous. We still should have beat them though yeah, our performance was sloppy.
That and Klopp really knows how to play against Mourinho
You could say the same about your two games vs Stoke, alongside Burnley and West Ham at Old Trafford. In the end it comes down to being good enough or not and too often, United haven't been good enough to turn dominance into wins.
Nah the Liverpool game we just didn't play well. We had a few chances to score but we weren't dominant.

It will be. A game in the PL on a Saturday and then away to the likes of Real or Barca on the Tuesday.

But, form does go out of the window for United Liverpool games - there have been many seasons where United have been by far the dominant team that season but in those individual games, Liverpool has won, and vice versa. It is just one of those fixtures.
There's some mental block about our team. Not sure they're too pumped up or too nervous for big game but they just didn't handle it well, including City game.

What are you on about? The same could be said about our draw at your place. You were in great form and we were struggling. You managed 2 shots on goal in 90 minutes up against the likes of Ashley Young and Marouanne Fellaini.

I'd argue Chelsea have been injury free for the most part.
Plopp will continue to struggle at Liverpool whilst FSG are in charge as they won't sign the calibre of player and be able to meet his wage demands the likes of us, City, Chelsea and even Arsenal can.
