Could challenge for a top half finish if they play well

Green
Fabio Nelson Ferdinand Traore
Derry Diakite
Park --- Taraabt --- Hoilett
Zamora

Still need another centre half.

They have Onuoha, too. But yeah, they probably need another centre back. Relying on Nelsen all season would be madness.

Hoillet was a good signing, though. They have a-lot of flair and pace in attack. I wonder did Luuk De Jong signing for Gladbach, the other day - have any impact on him choosing QPR, instead - or, did it simply come down to money.

Would they not start their most prolific forward in Cisse over those two piles of shit?

Cue people saying Liverpool should've went in for him once he has a good run of form before he eventually establishes himself as a midtable player.

I think he's better than that or at least has the tools to be. He's quite gifted.

Have a feeling that Derry won't feature too much, with Park dropping into a more central role and Johnson or Cisse playing a wide-attacking role. Would be ironic for Johnson if he ends up out there - as, this is why he had a bust up with Jol.

Alternatively, they could play the majestic duo of Bothroyd and DJ Campbell.

Can't see Barton playing any role, to be honest.

Do they not have Taiwo from AC?

Very good signing for QPR. They've been using their money quite well and I'd be expect them to be a solid mid-table team next year at the very least.

That Liverpool seemingly weren't even interested is astonishing to me. I'm sure they could offer at least competitive wages to QPR (being very conservative) and a starting role for one of the country's biggest clubs. Very strange.

When has Liverpool's transfer activity been anything but strange?

Not a bad side. I reckon Barton will play though, instead of Derry most likely.

Wright-Phillips has turned into a complete waste of money.

Diakite is a wierd player, he kept flipping from being absolute dreadful, as in cocking up the simplest 5 yard pass, and being pretty bloody good.

It was wierd. He'll always be decent though simply due to his physicality.

Hughes likes 4-4-2 though doesnt he? can see Taraabt getting dropped for Zamora.

Why couldn't Zamora and Cisse play up top together? With a possible midfield of; Hoillet, Taarabt, Diakate and Park?

I know it's a cliche but Taarabt couldn't play in a midfield two really.

QPR wont get anywhere at all with Traore at left back regardless of the other 10 players on the pitch. Thats why they stopped using him there last season and his games came left of midfield

Put Fabio over there and things look good for them

He is absolutely brutal defensively. If you just put a cone in that position, it would cut out more than he would do in a game. And that's no exaggeration.

Agreed. I mean we all remember the 8-2... I'm not saying he's just a bad player because he's fast, can offer some width and will throw a few balls into the box, but you'd have to use him how QPR ended up using him last season as a wide player with Taiwo coming on loan to take his place at left back. Thats despite Taiwo not doing that well himself and only being a temporary measure.

At right back QPR have Luke Young who has shown himself to be a premier league level fullback. Nothing amazing there but not a complete liability like Traore

Not a bad team. What about Faurlin though? He looked great before his injury, I reckon he'd get in before Derry.

Faurlin is quality for them. Their best distributer with the highest pass output, but also he also does most of their defensive work in front of the backline. With his ease on the ball it can go a little bit unnoticed that hes also putting in 4.5 tackles a game, their highest amount of tackles as well as interceptions.

A better central defender and a couple of central midfielders would do them good for next season.

Is it me or does he have really tiny feet? Also his boots make it look like he plays in socks.

QPR was the wrong move for him in hindsight, he has to do what he did for Blackburn all over again for the better clubs to notice him again. I don't think he is good enough for a top 4 side but he could still be a decent squad player for a European team. He has looked decent today, if he stops taking wild shots all the tim he could actually be a bit like Taraabt was in the Championship for QPR.
