Junior Hoilett

Would love it if we signed him.

I know the last Canadian at United didn't work out so well but I got a good feeling about this one.

Hmmmm. I like him but dunno how he fits in. Also don't think he's ready.

Hoillet's not (just) a winger really. I see him as a flexible attacking midfielder.

That's what they said about Young.

Decent prospect but I don't see the point in this signing to be honest.

He's signed for Borussia Monchengladback for £900k, apparently.

Surprised a bigger team didn't go for him.

This true?? £900k? To Monchengladback? I'm astounded at that. Seemed to have serious potential to me. Thought there was plenty of interest in the Prem.

Actually thought we were going to be in for him. Really surprised he's left the Prem, Spurs or Liverpool could have done with him.

Yeah maybe, but I haven't even heard of any contract offers for him etc.

I suppose it might have come a bit late for Rodgers to have a go for him but you'd think that if they were selling Kuyt that they could replace him with Hoilet and arguably improve the team and decrease the wage bill.

The ignorance bubble on Twitter over this move is absurd.

51k attendances, CL football, multiple German Champions and former European Cup finalists. Yet people are saying he lacks ambition for going there over some mid-table Premier League team.

Idiots.

There is your answer.

Yep, you find it everywhere though, i find redcafe as one of the few places where sense prevails about 90% of the time. Actually a wise career choice (or so it seems) by a player for once, CL football (if they get through the qualifiers) and there should be a spot for him in the first xi because they just sold Reus didn't they?

Mönchengladbach are in Champions League next season albeit in qualifiers which means they will likely have to beat a strong side to go through. They sold Reus but bought Xhaka and are looking at various other players so they might not be such a bad choice.

Not sure he's going to get games ahead of Arango or Hermann and Xhaka's looked a very decent player, won't be a great move if he can't get in the team.

Good signing at that price. I'd have been happy with him at United considering the fee that would have been involved, he looks a tidy player and I reckon he'd have added something to our team.

Perhaps they see him as a direct replacement for Reus. A place alongside/behind Hanke/De Camargo is certainly there for the taking.

 catch a grip.

Why's that? I'm hardly giving it the "oh no's, gutted we didn't sign him". He's a good player, I've rated him for a while and he'd have been a good option at United. He'd have been an improvement on Park for a start.

Problem?

That's a good move for him. From Blackburn to Borussia Monchenglack. He must be lazing back in a hot bath somewhere laughing his ass off right now.

So what happened the Gladbach deal? Was it just a case of twitter jumping the gun?

QPR seems to be the most widely touted destination now.

Sky Sports understands that Junior Hoilett has agreed to join Queens Park Rangers after opting against penning a new deal at Blackburn Rovers.

Rovers spent much of last season attempting to tie the highly-rated forward down on fresh terms.

Relegation out of the Premier League was always likely to undermine those efforts, and Hoilett has opted to move on.

The 22-year-old was reported to be on his way to Germany at one stage, with Borussia Monchengladbach believed to be leading the chase for his signature.

Hoilett has, however, taken the decision to remain in English football.

He is believed to have agreed terms with QPR and is all set to become the latest new recruit at Loftus Road.

Mark Hughes has been busy in the transfer market this summer, with the likes of Park Ji-sung, Robert Green, Andrew Johnson and Fabio already added to his ranks.

So much for his move to Monchengladback.

Cue people saying Liverpool should've went in for him once he has a good run of form before he eventually establishes himself as a midtable player.

I reckon he could do a job for the likes of Everton & Villa, 6-10th placed teams really (Well Villa should be). No doubt QPR probably offered him a hefty wage to sign on.

Thank god he didnt go to Liverpool.

Will be keeping a close eye on QPR even though they gave up against City. Park, Fabio and a Canadian will keep me interested.

I'm fairly sure we would have enquired or something similar, but like you say, QPR seem to be handing out good wages.

Could challenge for a top half finish if they play well

Decent team, they still have to shaft Barton.

Think they're more likely to get relegated playing with 3 defenders

Decent move for him. Sparky's a good Premier League manager IMO. They'll be well safe from relegation this season.
