Julian Draxler | Linked to Arsenal

We should buy him just for the hell of it and to stop anyone else from getting him.

Of course thats an entirely valid reason why we should buy him

Can see him ending up at Arsenal but can see him costing a fortune. Even then its not really their priority signing either.

Probably Arsenal seeing as they could always use more depth. Madrid already have Vazquez and Jese as competent backups

Another semi-fast-ish midget who could play on the wing or ten? No thanks

The Arsenal link is a lazy one imo. Simply because he's always been linked with Arsenal. Can't see Wenger paying the required fee to bring him as he's not essential for them.

Midget?

You must be quite a big guy, referring to people of almost 190cm of height as midgets! But, you're the expert, so midget he is, I suppose.

I've seen a lot of people wanting Draxler here. Where would we even play him? He mostly plays on the left side for Dortmund and I'm guessing people here would like him to play on the right for us but he never plays on the right so I can't see the point in this signing. Not even for Arsenal who also needs someone on the right.

Sanchez was in better form on the right last season, so Draxler - Ozil - Sanchez might work. I could never see Wenger overpaying for Draxler though.

Wenger may try and buy him for £5M.
If he can't get that sort of deal, he'll probably opt for a cheaper player.
I do feel sorry for AFC fans. They are given hope with messages like, "we shall sign Higuain". Or we shall sign, "Lacazette".

Still. AFC look like they are "in" for Mahrez. Let's see where that goes.

I like him but not much of a defensive contribution and can't see Mourinho going for him at all especially as we have Martial and the Rash. And Memphis, and Lingard. And Young.

We probably could do with selling more players tbh.

Agreed. Maybe Rooney can be sold after he's had his testimonial.

I don't think Wolfsburg can afford to sell him as well this summer. This might turn nasty, if it hasn't already with this interview.

Would much rather see Arsenal get him than Mahrez.

Would be a typical Wenger signing of the last few years. Another winger/attacking midfielder. Not a stupid signing, as I think he's a quality player, and it's always good to have depth in the attacking positions. But he should really just focus on signing an out and out striker, a central defender or even a holding midfielder, which are positions where they are really lacking quality.

Draxler could fall under the supplementary category Jose mentioned. Would be a good signing as we do lack attacking depth. :) Quite a good upgrade going from Young as a rotation option to Draxler.

We have a starting trio of Martial, Rooney/Mata and Mkhitaryan behind Zlatan as of now, Draxler would simply not come to be a bench warmer. Young, Januzaj, Lingard, Memphis are perfect for that role.

An Arsenal player if i ever saw one. Bet Wenger is wetting himself reading the interview.

Would approve signing him as Rooney's replacement in the starting eleven. Could maybe allow Mkhity to play through the middle, or Martial to play up top with Ibrah behind him.

Sorry Wolfsburg must sell him after this interview if they are getting at least €40m and to say it in german "Draxler hat doch überhaupt keinen Bock auf Wolfsburg".

Wolfsburg are a freak show in the last months and must make a new start in many areas (I would have sacked Hecking too).

I don't like this kind of attitude. He signed the contract without a release clause, now he can't stop moaning and telling people about a hypthetical transfer agreement to a so-called big club. Should have stayed put at Schalke, panicked and got it wrong, but no pity, he had it coming.

Once he was called the next big thing in Germany, but his development didn't turn out as planned, still looks physical quite weak. I for one would let Wenger have him, about 50 mil. would do it.

Seems perfectly Jose to me

I think Arsenal will buy a winger and a CB. I can see Mahrez and Draxler being their man targets to play with Alexis Sanchez and Ozil.

If the play:
Draxler - Ozil - Sanchez

Or:
Sanchez - Ozil - Mahrez

They will be dangerous, mainly with Xhaka and Ramsey behind them.

Would love to see him in our kit. He always makes something happen, and if rumors are to be believed about Mata and Januzaj, having J-Drax (tm) would make me very happy.

Still remember some of his passes and touches last season against us.

If they agreed with him that he could leave if a big club wanted him, why wouldn't he be annoyed? Yes he signed a contract with them but that may have been on the agreement. Anyway I am sure if they get a decent fee they will sell.

Truth is none of us could know what may or may not have been agreed upon between player & club

I like the player and believe he needs to go someplace where he will be pushed to accept more responsibility & develop consistently, a club with perhaps more ambition

Prefer him at Juve over Arsenal but only because I think he'd develop better in Turin

What did he actually say? Did he mention Arsenal? Bet the jammy basterds get him for some tiny fee like £30-35m or something.

I hate it when players behave like this to try and force a move. I can understand it must be frustrating for them if they really want a move and their club doesn't want to let them go, but they have a contract for megabucks they were originally happy to sign and they can't just up and leave whenever suits them. To do media interviews/go on strike etc is really unprofessional. It would make me hope my club didn't buy them.
