Juan Mata

When did Jose say this?

I like Mata but I hope he is used for Europa League and Cup games.

I read on Twitter a while back that he agreed with Jose he won't be a first 11 starter and is happy to fight for his place.

Why the hell was he played on the right today though? Thought we had seen the last of that crap.

When Jesse got hurt, mata doesn't need to warm up, mky does. It's a manager that knows those little details.

And the staff wants him to stay, no way three coaches come out immediately to explain the decision to sub him if they didn't want him here. They know their history with Juan.

Crappy way to treat Mata. The reasoning behind the sub made no sense either. This is what you get with Mourinho though. He's a naturally divisive character.
That's still a problem for you? It was clear and everyone seems fine.

Not getting at Mourinho but subbing a sub send its own message, despite the logical explanation.

I was annoyed when the sub happened but Mou went on to explain why he did so and it seem Mata seems fine with it(at least what we're led to believe). As long as it's all good with everyone then there is no fuss.

The media are some bunch of imbeciles.

The fact that Mourinho brought Mata on for 30 minutes, ahead of Mkhitaryan (who can play in the same position), actually says more about Mourinho's thoughts on the matter than him subbing Mata off with a minute to go because of his height (which I believe 100%, as I said before - Mourinho will do anything for even the smallest edge and he doesn't care how it looks). And that's if you want to even read into these things, which isn't the best idea seeing as the match was a glorified friendly.

But why have the media not picked up on the fact that Mata played 30 mins more than one of Mourinho's main signings yesterday, is that story not spicy enough?

The explanation is just PR. Mata appearing fine with it is also just PR. There is no fuss, but I believe Mata will leave before 1 Sept.

Subbing a sub is usually a bit humiliating but you don't normally get 6 subs to use and trying to give everyone minutes. If it happened in a game when we have 3 subs then there's something in it.

Another piece of context the media decided to leave out. Vulturous imbeciles.

let's not let facts get in the way of a good story.

I didn't see the other thread when I posted that. Looked at it since though and I've noticed quite a few people, possibly including yourselves, have misunderstood what Mourinho said.

He double substituted Mata just so Mikhi could get some time on the pitch. Was it really necessary to embarrass Mata just to give Mikhi a matter of seconds? Course not. Neither player benefitted from that decision.

The height thing has confused people from the actual explanation.

Still says he is for sale and Mata does not want to leave.
I think yesterday had nothing to do with it, if he really wanted to isolate mata, he would have not made him a part of 18, or maybe made him a part and not subbed him on.

Or maybe you just did not want to hear the explanation and wanted to rant about Mata being embarassed anyway? Jose was very clear with what he meant and why he did it. I am not a Jose fan but you need to give him a chance.

I could see this being true. Mourinho is not the biggest admirer of him although I believe that if given a chance, he'd keep him as a squad option (his chances would be limited though). The issue with this is that Mata would be quite an expensive bench player to have as we'd probably get north of £20m for him in the market and his wages will be expensive and secondly he's too good to be 5th choice attacking midfielder (all of Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Rooney and Lingard will be ahead of him).

Yeah yesterday had nothing to do with any proposed sale.

Whether Mata's going or not, there's absolutely no need for Mourinho to publicly humiliate him. By all accounts Mata is a good bloke and an excellent professional and it seems there was no animosity between them at Chelsea.

Given there's a good chance Mata will still be at OT when the window shuts, Mourinho will need him confident and motivated, so there's no way he's going to go out of his way to upset him in a high-profile game.

Except Schweini, I doubt about other big names moving this summer. If Mourinho says he wants 23+3 players, Selling more big names means replacing those which will be tough or too much reliance on youngsters.

Becoming more and more sure that Everton will pay 35m to sign him.

btw, bald twat is just being usual motherfecker self there. That article he wrote a month back, there is nothing new in there. Neither has he updated it. It is just a click-bait in wake of yesterday's substitution. The cnut is getting too much publicity nowadays just because he likes to reside in Mou's arse.

I doubt Mata will move elsewhere this season. I am sure he will get around 30 games under his belt come June, which will be enough to keep him happy.

He is probably for sale but only if our valuation is met. Otherwise, he will be a significant part of the squad as yesterday showed.

That's the only scenario I see him moving. He's obviously not for sale at any price. I don't think Mourinho is desperate to get rid.

Bald Twat was the first one who revealed we have put in a firm offer for Pogba when Mourinho wasn't even appointed.

Ha what rant? Don't read everything with an angry voice mate.

I'm purely talking about this one incident. Mourinho has all the chances and time in the world as far as I'm concerned.

How can that be justified as true? Just because he said that we made a firm offer on Pogba cannot mean that we did.

That's OK but putting up a tweet one month after it was posted, without any updation, means it is a click-bait and it has been re-posted only because of yesterday's sub. Living in Mou's arse will make him privy to 'inside' info but it doesn't mean a one month old article holds any relevance.

I doubt we'd sell. Jose wants 23, and now has 23 with Pogba. He even singled him out for coming on and playing well yesterday, 'giving him exactly what he wanted', as jose put it.

I disagree. I can see us selling Bastian, Mata and Fellaini and add Matuidi and Fabinho. The problem is that we got too many players who simply dont want to leave

At the moment I wouldn't accept anything short of £40million for him. Crazy prices being paid and we shouldn't be in any hurry to sell him. Don't need the money either.

Absolutely.

Do you think that if Bale becomes available, Jose would say we can't sign him cause we have to many players? If players become available, we'll sign them....if players aren't wanted, they'll leave.

Mata was one of our most productive in pre-season.

With some bigger players in the team it shouldn't be too much of an issue accommodating him.

He's in my eyes better than Rooney, but whether he has the balls to drop him or not...

I just wish some chinese team came in with good money for Rooney.

He's just not athletic enough to be a number 10 for Jose is he? There's no doubt he's got ability on the ball but if we look at Jose's teams of the past and the players he's brought in he likes athleticism as well as ability. I don't think he'll be forced out but I think if a semi decent offer comes in we'd listen.

I do like Mata, as a footballer as well as a personality but if he doesn't fit within Jose's plans I'd understand.

a- I doubt that we can afford another 70m signing this year
b- players have contracts. You cant force them out

I'd rather technical qualities and physical setbacks than Rooney's physical qualities and technical setback.

He's done really well every time he's played, I think he'll be starting ahead of Rooney in a month max if he keeps it up.

If I read anything in to players leaving I would look at the players he left out of the Squad yesterday not a player he played above our new shinny signing.
He took him off to kill time and because he is not as good as defending in the box as anyone else we had on the pitch.

If Jose wanted to force Mata out he would be training with the reserves like Bastian not playing at Wembley.
