easily our best finisher these days, as I said earlier he's really natural finisher and if he was quicker he would be one hell of a striker..
and #juander is great

Some on this forum wanted him sold. There was a poster on here who absolutely hated him.
Yup, I had an argument with one(I won't be calling him out though) with whom I had a page long argument of why he should not be sold, which ended in long posts regarding stats and what not

Can we transfer that person?

I've been very critical of him since we've signed him but he's playing fantastically well at the moment, looks a lot stronger on the ball too and that finish was just class.

Hugs.

If all our players were applying themselves like Mata, we'd be much better off. Deserved better today.

There was a stat when the game was on today - Mata has played in 61 of the last 63 league games for us.

LVG liked him.
yes but Jose is the only one to play him in his natural position ahead of Rooney and trust him consistently, he has generally been on the right with license to drift in.

Delighted he is blossoming, cracking pro

He always played on the right with licence under LVG. The team is just functioning better now.

I only just found out that he's played more for us than he has for Chelsea. That sounds so weird to me.

After all the rumors about his potential departure with the arrival of Mourinho, it's all the more enjoyable to watch him consistently perform well. Him, Herrera and Valencia have really been good this season.

Was superb again and what impressed me was that he actually did extremely well at tracking back and winning the ball back which he is often criticised for.

To think some people wanted him sold. He'll go down as a Legend for us.

He made that finish look like it was so damn easy. I think the mistake Jose made against City was going for pace over somebody like Mata. Mata doesnt have the sprint to go up and down, but you see what a difference he can make. His composure on the ball and to keep us in possession high up the pitch is very under valued.

Such a special player, that goal would have been a deserved winner of any match:(.
Him, Herrera and Pogba have been a joy to watch this season. Such a variety of footballing quality and they mix it up well together, hopefully the rest of team matches their form soon especially the strikers. We're really almost there despite the disappointing results.

He should be captain. There is no other full time starting player in our squad more deserving and capable.

If only we had a player who has a similar skill-set and a surname that begins with the same letter in the squad.

...Memphis, thou who recognises not their surname?

You're going to have to break it down further. I'm realllllllllllly struggling here.

Yeah I definitely think Mourinho has learned his lesson with regards to Mata. He's just a brilliant player. Of course, I understand him being subbed out if we try to see out games, though even then, having him pick out passes might be more useful in terms of seeing out games then throwing on schneiderlin to tackle people. That can go both ways though. It's more just that I can't see Mata being dropped for a big game any time soon, considering how good he's been this season.

His defensive side of the game has improved tremendously with his ability to close space and press intelligently. Could have scored in the first half too if not for Petr Cech.

He'd be my shortest price goal scorer in virtually every game he plays for us. Had a mixed afternoon yesterday but came up trumps just when we needed him to.

He's definitely the shortest

Not least of all for his attitude off the pitch as well

One of the few of our players that wouldn't look out of place in a Barca or Real Shirt once he's played in the right position. Technically brilliant and the best finisher in the club at present.

Player of the season so far, comfortably.

Only good thing to come out of the resign of Moyesy

He's been a quality captain for us when given the armband. The squad seem to really like him too.

I wonder if we could play in a midfield 3 as a #8. I don't think we've tried it out enough. Him and Herrera could be our Xavi/Iniesta.

As do the fans. Redcafe is the only place I've ever really seen fans criticize him, he seems to be very popular with the OT crowd.

I was one who thought he was a bit of a luxury player for us but i'm glad I've been proved wrong. He is playing with so much more confidence and is so much more influential than he was in the last few seasons. But he has also been so consistent which is a huge step up for him because I always felt that he would turn up for a few games and then fade for a month or so.

At the moment, he must be the first name on the team sheet.

Hes doing very well. So much better than under Van Gaal. Plus his first touch is nirvana.

Why change a winning formula?

Because we aren't winning?
You know what I mean . He's playing well where he is, moving him to midfield would create dilemmas with Carrick, Pogba and Herrera who are already a solid midfield.
