Whenever this was brought up you'd be promptly told he was poor in the CL and most his assists were from set pieces.

Why was he booked?
He's our best front 3 player from all of our potential options.

Probably our best outfield player atm. his movement today was superb and that finish was Class.

The finish for the goal was superb and he was easily the biggest attacking threat today, he seems to have found a bit of acceleration from somewhere as well.
People gave him shite for not being a big game player. Compare his performance to Ozil today...
Felt he was dwelling on the ball a bit too much which meant he got caught in possession a few times. Great finish for the goal though, and played well overall.
We keep losing points (and control of games) when he comes off.

Exactly this. Ozil was almost invisible today.
He's probably been one of our best players in big games. Goals against Arsenal and City this season, FA Cup Final equaliser, the 2 goals at Juanfield, more goals and assists v Liverpool and City in 14/15...

Some on this forum wanted him sold. There was a poster on here who absolutely hated him.
Oh there were dozens of them last season. Every time he had a quiet game there were a lot of posters calling him weak, not United quality, get rid etc...
I fully expect these posters to reappear as soon as he doesn't score or assist a few games.

He creates a dash of energy/quality where it's needed, that's for sure.
He'd been pretty good for Van Gaal too and played pretty constantly in his second season. Infact he's been consistently good even if he attracted a bit of undeserved flack for the frailties surrounding him. Excellent goalscorer who might have better stats if he strictly played through the middle.
Roll back to 2013 and tell a Chelsea fan that Mourinho would sell Juan to United and then be United manager himself 18 months later.
When that ball was crossed in I don't think many players in the league could've put it away. He's magic with the ball.
