We all ignoring the fact his manager said he's going nowhere then?
I don't have a study in front of me, but I can't imagine it means anything, no.

Would this be classed as more great Chelsea business?
£26m for Cuadrado and probably around £30m in return for Schurrle and Salah = upgrading their squad and receiving a profit.
At least I think that's how the Caf accountants have been doing the maths recently. The reality is obviously that Schurrle and Salah cost £18m and £11m themselves so that's got to be deducted from the net profit, but that doesn't make Chelsea look like the transfer machines everyone likes to paint them as.
Something dodgy must be going on if Chelsea are getting him for £26 million. It always seems like they get players for a little less than their value nowadays...

I don't think he's as good as a lot of people on here, and would be surprised if he's a better player for them than Willian.
That's his release clause...
It's his release clause, signed a new deal this summer with it.
Under the table top-up payments to avoid FFP.
He's a different type of player, he scored 13 goals in all comps last season. Willian got 4...
Willian works extremely hard, covers for Ivanovic and provides a great outlet on the right for them. Helps balance the front line.
I just don't think he's a major improvement. However when you consider it's likely he's the replacement for Schurrle and Salah, it's a good deal.
MOURINHO COY ON CUADRADO
Jose Mourinho has tried dispel speculation surrounding Chelsea’sreported interest in Fiorentina midfielder Juan Cuadrado.
"He's a Fiorentina player,” he said ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup fourth-round tie with Bradford. “You ask me 20 names, if I don't know them, then trouble. My son knows them! It's my job to know them.
"I think he fits well in the Fiorentina squad, and the Colombia squad, but not in Chelsea's squad."
What's he supposed to say? Clearly any deal to for them to buy Cudrado requires one or two of his current players going out of the club. He can't publicly say he's interested in him and then look foolish for not landing him, making the price go up, or risk Fiorentina getting mad.
Would be even worse if he admits that he wants to get rid of Salah and Schürrle, can't do so, and then have players stuck at Chelea knowing the manager doesn't want them.
He literally said the exact same thing just before Mata, Luiz, De Bruyne, and Lukaku were all sold. Can't really believe a word he says when it comes to transfers.
"I'm very happy with my squad and no one is leaving." Then a few days later they're gone and new players are in. Wish we'd do the same.
I think that quote is a misinterpretation due to his english. He was asked if he felt Cuadrado would fit in Chelsea's team and didn't want to disrespect another clubs player by saying yes. So instead he said "he fits in Fiorentina's and Colombia's squad, not Chelsea's."Since when does he have to say anything? Lots of managers dont talk about players from other clubs.
But its very strange to say that a player fits well in his club and his national team squads but doesnt fit well at your squad, and then sign that player. It remains to be seen if he does sign him, from that comment you'd have to think he probably wont

Alright. How does that make any sense?
He can just refuse to comment and then he doesnt disrespect Fiorentina, and he doesnt disrespect the player like he has done
The only way to interpret what he actually said is that he thinks hes a good player for Fiorentina and Columbia but not for Chelsea and there is no reason why he needs to say that if he doesn't believe it.
To be fair we'd sell Schurrle for £8m and Salah for £3m if we were them.

You're over thinking it. He basically said he's a Fiorentina and Colombian national team player and not a Chelsea player.
Sky sports have just said they'd only sell him for his release clause and don't want Salah in any deal, so it's probably bollocks.Don't know how reliable this Sport Mediaset are in Italy (also reporting De Gea has signed a new contract), but they are reporting that we've made a offer €29m + Januzaj on loan until 2016 for Cuadrado. Anybody else heard anything on this?

We should activate his buy out clause, then get Bale in the Summer. Our team lacks serious pace, and this guy stupidly quick. Sign him up, Louis!
I think Cuadrado for >£30M is very reasonable, not to mention he can play RWB as well.
