Feel he was left hung out to dry a bit there. Shouldn’t be on the pitch in the first place, but certainly not the only player to deserve the early hook.

Agree, it's not rocket science to know you can't play Hojlund and Zirkzee together, it's one or the other with the counter part coming off the bench.

I know this is a very difficult process but it still feels like many defeats with Amorim aren't even down to the system alone but poor player selection.

I get the signing as Ineos probably think they can develop him and sell for profit but he does look very disinterested. Really he should be a backup ST and nothing else, he's too heavy to play any wide or 10 role.

This is United under Ratcliffe. Zirkzee was bad but that was disgusting from the fans.
Only time you could hear them in the match

I hate our fans I honestly think we have the worst fans. There's no support just hate and blame constantly

We should have just kept McTominay instead. Unbelievable that we sold him for a smaller fee than what we paid for Zirkzee.

Feel horrible for the guy. Wasn't a good 30 minutes, but Casemiro was far worse than he was and the midfield duo was absolutely the biggest problem along with general work rate from everyone.

Us being marginally less shit after he went off is the closest thing I can't find to a positive about the game.

It's going to get increasingly nasty.

We're going to be close to a relegation battle. Fans are paying £66 to sit in a dump of a stadium with rats running around and it leaking everytime it rains a bit to watch us get fecking hammered every single game.

Zirkzee won't be the only player booed off this season. Not saying I like it, but i understand it. Feels like a watershed moment.

He was not good but he should not be scapegoated, there were players who equally deserved to have been subbed.
For the fans, he represents everything that has gone wrong at the club over the past seasons, so unless Amorim steps up to defend him, he's going to be bullied until he's out.

The problem is that while he gets all the abuse, other players are safe from criticism, and management can keep pointing fingers instead of actually doing anyhting useful.

Yes, what an absolute disgrace they are. Never mind that they've spent fecking tonnes of money to watch this lot turn in a feckless home performance AGAIN, they should be getting behind the lads like true top reds!
Paying for a ticket doesn't give you the right to abuse players. Your own players no less. Not much support in such supporters

Casemiro & Eriksen were very bad. But this guy’s performance was another level of bad because he couldn’t even make a simple pass. 33% passing accuracy sums it up why he was subbed off because he played like he’s Newcastle United player.

I do feel bad for the guy, but you have to be able to reliably string basic passes together. Pretty much every time he got the ball in that first 30 mins he fecking lost it. I'm glad he got hooked, hope he learns from it and comes back more switched on. Or goes somewhere else that is a bit easier for him in January.

I dont think I've ever seen a United attacking player have a worse game for us and that includes when Di Maria gave up and only paid attention to balls right to his feet and didnt bother chasing balls that were 1 yard in front of him

33.3% pass accuracy. He wasnt looking up and trying to find a pass, he was just playing the ball into areas hoping someone might be - and they werent

Didnt boo him hard enough. Hopefully he's done now. There's no excuse for him channeling his inner Rashford after just months here. Lazy feck.

You mean the same fans who boo'd Nani, gave felliani sarcastic applause but Moyes got a standing fecking ovation. The fans are weird and not helping the situation.

What is there for the home crowd to get fecking happy about?!

Look, it's probably unfair on Zirkzee that he was the one particular player who copped the flak, but as someone else said whoever was brought off for Mainoo at that point would've taken the same flak from the fans and rightly fecking so. The team's performance up until that point was disgraceful.

If this lot can't stand to be humiliated and embarrassed then they sure as shite don't do a very good job of showing it with their performances.

Oh, there has been plenty of support over the past few years, and look where that has got us. It's Stockholm syndrome at this point.

Did he deserve his booing? He was shite, but no worse than normal, and no worse than anybody else.

Not sure if you've seen the first half but he misplaced damn near every pass, lost possession on several occasions and was hovering up front next to Hojlund leaving the two pensioners stranded in the middle against a packed Newcastle midfield.

Never in my life had I wanted a substitution to be made so quickly after starting the game. Zirkzee's performance was diabolical.

Not sure about booing but can understand why some fans did it.

He's not cut out for the premier league. He's too slow, loses possesion very easily and can't deal with the pressing.
He's a very limited footballer and today it showed, during a game where we really needed a win or draw to stop the rot.

It's disgusting how the fans booed him, but that's football. It's an unfortunate part of it. Fans of other clubs hold their players to a higher standard but that doesn't mean we should join the club and boo our players.

Sorry but do people think he was actually putting in anything near the required effort in that 30 minutes? Never mind quality or whatever, but actually giving a shit... Because I don't, at all.

Loan him to another PL club, see if he can cut it and if not cut our losses in the summer.

Or even if he does alright cut our losses in the summer, since he doesn’t really fit our system.

It’s not going to work out if we keep doing what we are doing.

I didn’t say that did I you dickhead. I said don’t single one player out and not boo the rest when they were all shit.
I can agree on that front, the entire side should have been boo'd off at half time. They do a fine job of embarrassing themselves every week anyway, so it's not like the booing would be adding very much to it!

Whomever picked this player out of the heard of possible signings and the person(s) who signed off on it…I want to ring their necks! Zirkzee off you go back to Italy

Oh I agree, they need to hear how shit they are from the fans. Not that I think half of them would even be arsed.

When you play a stinker you should be booed off the field. Its the indifference from fans thats killing us, not letting the players know.

That few seconds of strength and determination after he lost the ball for the tenth time tonight... THAT is what he needs to show all the time.

But if he hasn't yet worked out that you can't lumber around the pitch in the PL, especially when you're having a shocker, then he might as well leave.

Think the fans just took out a lot of, justified, anger on him when he came off. His confidence is probably shot, but he's just not good.

Shit player gets booed. Shock.

Ends up crying. Probably knows they're right.

Whoever sanctioned this transfer needs sacking, but then the majority of the players and staff fall into that category.
