Jose Mourinho | Spurs manager

At every club he's been at since 2002, Mourinho has won trophies. Will he win one at Spurs?

Tottenham have failed to score in three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since November 2013. It’s also just the second time a side managed by Jose Mourinho has failed to score in three league games in a row (Man Utd, October 2016).

This confirms how much mojo Jose has left these days, not much it seems.

That's a pretty bad stat to be fair. It's not a fluke occurrence either, you only need to watch a few Spurs matches to see how toothless they look in attack. This was noticeable before Kane got injured too.

No point asking the Spurs fans they're all still in the honeymoon period with Jose refusing to accept the inevitable

Kinda feel bad for Spurs fans at this point. Many were against appointing Jose and for good reason too. He's a spent force living on past acomplishments.

How did they reach a CL final then? Either Pochettino is a significantly better coach than Mourinho, or the squad isn’t as bad as you say.

Poch had 5 years to work with the team thats why - Jose has had about 2 months. The amount of people wanting Jose to fail and already calling it when he has not even had a full window yet and the squad has been hit hard by injuries to key players is hilarious by the way.

Yeah, that’s the part that’s hilarious.

It's very predictable in as much as it is just stupid. For the record I think Jose will be a success at Spurs but he has had horrid luck with injuries so far and a continuation of our shite form for many players in the squad who need to leave. He needs time to get the squad in the place he wants - new players needed, old players shipped out and more time on the training field. I wasn't expecting a miraculous turnaround with the squad in the state it is. The fact is we are in a better state now than when Poch left and people are quick to forget just how shite we were for the last year of Poch's reign.

And yet Man. Utd have failed to score more goals than Spurs - despite our missing Kane. Go figure.

Sorry, it's just my opinion. I think it was a mistake on Levy's to appoint Jose

I get that and you are entitled to your opinion. It's just getting a bit frustrating to see people on here licking their lips at the thought of Jose failing and not taking the reality of our situation into account at all. He will turn it around and we will become a very good team again but it's going to take time.

Mind that gap big man. ;)
In all seriousness has Kane even been out that long? We missed Martial for weeks.

It’s not licking lips, though. It’s a very evident pattern that has been set in his two previous failings. It’s going to happen here again. It’s already started, in fact.

Kane is much more important to us than Martial is to you - also Kane is basically out for the season.
Well they’re both the strikers, so, no.
How long has he been out for? Him not being able to play in say March isn’t relevant to many each side has scored as of this second.

But you have conceded more goals resulting in a lower goal difference.

Our midfield is the main problem there - Dier has been fecking hopeless so we need a defensive midfielder in the squad (need to buy one) - Vertonghen has gone from being our best defender to sadly looking like his legs have gone which also hasnt helped.

He has been out for a few weeks at this stage - he had scored 11 goals in 20 premiership appearances before he was injured. What I would say is that ok you lost Martial but you had Rashford.

I won't hide the fact that I despise Jose, as do many United fans. He earned that hatred by the manner in which he treated our club when he was in charge. He's the ultimate self-serving narcissist.

So he’s misssed three matches so far? Not that much then considering Martial has only played 16 (17 if he plays vs Liverpool).
We do have Rashford, but you have Son, and haven’t had to go on without your striker for as many matches as us.

United missed Martial too. Seeing what happened at Chelsea and United it wad an absolute bonkers decision to appoint him.

I get it but it's leading to stupid and irrational posts on here for some which is a bore.

What part of he is out for the season did you not hear? Martial will play a lot more than Kane this season if he stays fit.

Yes, but what does him being out for the season have to do with the amount of goals both sides have scored as of right now? Nothing.
Maybe read the posts you’re replying to, as you’re the one being irrational right now pal.

If he can feck Spurs up, I'll love him even more than I already do.

Had similar feelings and thoughts about Georgie Graham back when he went to them, but he went and won them a cup. He redeemed himself somewhat by finishing the season in 10th I think.

Will history repeat???

Nothing like changing the subject - once it becomes exposed that United's goal-scoring tally is no better than that of Spurs.

What are your thoughts on us having had our striker out for longer than Kane?

I would have preferred Pochettino not to have been sacked - unless he made it clear he wanted to leave.

But since Pochettino left the situation at Spurs has stabilised a little bit compared to what it was this season prior to Mourinho's arrival. So hardly "bonkers" so far.

Not really. I could point to Son being absent for 3 games due to a red card.
Rashford and Martial = 38 matches.
Son and Kane = 38 matches.
You could point to it, but you’d be looking a little silly if you did.
Not to mention Son being dirty and getting sent off isn’t the same as getting injured.

So Spurs have had a rougher ride? Got it.

No. Spurs have scored as many goals as United (despite the silly comments earlier in this thread). Now you get it.

Your point would stand had you not already changed subject.

Rather than argue the original point, being Spurs failing to score for 3 matches in succession for the first time since 2013, you bleat on about United having scored less than Spurs this season, as if that somehow justifies such a poor run of form under Jose. It doesn't.

Is the fact that you changed the subject first lost on you?

According to WhoScored
Kane and Son combined premier league minutes: 3260
Rashford and Martial combined premier league minutes: 3160 (potentially rising to 3250 if Martial plays 90 mins vs Liverpool)
Tottenham fans agenda aside they’ve had it easier with their forwards minutes and can’t outscore us.
The Mourinho effect? ;)

Thanks Pal.

Totally washed up. Hopefully he stays long enough to remove any sort of relevance Spurs have as a 'top' club.
