Madrid bought Mourinho what he wanted. He wasn't a failure in spain, winning the league against an allstar Barcelona team and reaching CL semis twice, after Madrid couldn't progress to quarters for a mere ten years.

I would say your standing in this year's PL compared to Inter in 2010's CL is similar in terms of how many teams are ahead on paper.

They're flying right now because Kane and Son is in the form of their lives. Jose at his best behavior when he's winning, but I'd like to see how he handles it when Spurs hit a rough patch.
At this point it's clear that it just us fans who are butthurt over Mourinho. Praising him means admitting that we are an utter shambles of a club that couldn't make it work even with a world class manager, and our entitled fans cannot even get behind such a legendary coach and would rather support nepotism.

With Jose, when things got bad and the players didn't respond the way he wanted, he will throw a tantrum. Things is good when he's winning, but he usually returns to form when let say Son or Kane form dipped or Spurs got bad luck with injuries and officials. Tbh, I don't think Levy expect Spurs to be as good as they are now, so that would buy Jose lots of time when wins started hard to come by.
Well, to be fair, he did exceed all expectations on him so far, when he take over Spur midway through last season, no one seriously think he could take Spur to challenge for league title. Still top manager in the game, his biggest problems has always been from 3rd season onwards, so good luck to Spur, enjoy the result while it last.

There is no denying Tottenham is doing well with their tough run of fixture so far, but it's still early to conclude who is in title race or not. By point gap, even we as is can be considered as title challenger with a game in hand.
I think conclusion of new year fixtures would give better picture to be honest I expect few of the current challengers to fall away during that period and If I am not mistaken Mourinho's teams have always been frontrunner's with healthy leads whenever they have won the title ,they don't tend to chase down the leaders very well.

Depends what you mean by "the real deal", top four contenders? Absolutely.
Will they win the league? They are so far handling their difficult run of fixtures well, 7 points from Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal games, Leicester, Liverpool and Wolves coming up for them, they get a draw with Liverpool and wins vs Leicester and Wolves why cant they win the league? I thought they would slide down the table a bit after this run of fixtures but they are still on top at the halfway point of their difficult run up to xmas.
They have some decent squad depth now, Winks and Alli can barely make the bench that is how stacked Spurs are at the moment. Jose has his team set up exactly how he wants, has his midfield general in Hojbjerg, and the power and athleticism of Sissoko beside him. The creativity and forward drive coming from Ndombele who looks to have shaken off his injury troubles of last season. If they can get Bale up to speed and get a tune out of him why not?
I do not think Man Utd will finish above Spurs.
