He should take Ronaldo back to Portugal and both should retire there. Both are finished at the top level.

Well and truly finished. If he wins the League Cup final for Spurs at least he can leave with a shred of dignity. Big if though.

Spurs season disappeared faster than the Spurs fans enthusiasm!

Reading the spurs fans excitement in this thread brings back so much nostalgia. You have to live it to learn it. Jose is Jose.

Clown of a manager. Been saying it for the last 5 years. Fooled everyone with our piss easy Europa run that he still had the winning mentality or whatever this means.

How many did they get beat by?

Gary Neville had West Brom

Wayne Rooney had Watford

Jose Mourinho has Dinamo Zagreb

The games you knew that they were done at the highest level.

Will another big club bail him out again, or will it have dawned on everyone that he's finished as a manager and has been for years?

Probably a disastrous spell at Portugal or Porto before retirement.

I'd say he's done for good now although I could still see him manage Portugal

Sheffield United

I mean, they're practically relegated already, there wouldn't be much risk for them.

Still failed imo.

He was appointed to get Champions league football first and foremost.

Very tough to do it when he came in midway through last season so he gets a pass given he got them into europa but to not even finish top 6 this season as looks likely is criminal.

Yes they could win league cup but we could've win it last year and got relegated and Dean Smith would likely be out of a job now. And Alex McLeish was seen as a laughing stock as a manager barely two years after winning it in 2011.

No big club defines their season by winning the league cup as Man. City "only" won that last season and they regarded the season as a total failure by their now high standards.

Last time Spurs won it they were bottom of the league 8 months later and in total chaos so it dosen't even mean you can push forward as a club often, more the ending for the group of players and manager.

The progress Spurs made for years under Pochettino ended when they lost to Liverpool in the CL final, they just didn't realise it quickly enough.

Showing up at Arsenal after Arteta would be the ultimate chuckle.
