Their team is great, it's just a matter of whether Mourinho can regenerate them or not. They're still struggling because all their midfielders keep getting injured and Eriksen clearly switched off
They're not that great at the back anymore imo. Lloris declined but still better than Gazzainga. Think Toby and Vertongthen have really declined as a combination this season (look at the way Ings took the mick with his goal the other week) and don't rate Sanchez or Aurier. Need some fresh blood at left back aswell as can't see Sessegnon being trusted there under this manager.
Remember in their CL run they weren't actually that great at the back but found ways to beat Man. City and Ajax despite conceding 7 goals over the two ties.

I'm not so sure. Their two Beligan CBs have declined and they don't have a single competent fullback (other than Rose, who seems to be frozen out of the side) or a central midfielder that can pass between the lines. They have a lot of attacking talent but a poor platform for it.

They're not though. Sissoko isn't a midfielder let alone a good player. Winks is fairly unremarkable. Dier seems to have retired. Being generous to their cb's and saying they're good enough, they're still surrounded by below average players. They have 2 great players in Kane and Son and thats about it.
Sissoko was decisive in their CL run, Winks is ok, and their CBs are not this unplayable trainwreck people make them out to be
Kane, Son, Lucas, Alli and Lamela is a formidable attack. Right now it's a matter of getting everyone fit and healthy, and then getting the team into shape
Its a bit harsh on Sissoko, he's done a job for them tbf to him. But lets face it, he's not very good.
What made them so good 3 years ago was their dynamic fullbacks and midfield, they dominated the middle against almost anyone (even Conte's title winning Chelsea side) and used Walker and Rose to create overloads. Since then Walker (and his back up) have gone while Rose has declined to shit. In midfield Waynama has declined to shit and Dembele is gone. And that's before we mention the CBs and Alli are pale shadows of their 2015-2017 selves.
Out of all their players that are there now and then only Son has improved and Kane has maintained his level, the rest are either caricatures of their best selves (players mentioned above) or downgrade replacements to players who have left (most comically of all Aurier).
Pochettino found ways to keep the team winning even effectively without a midfield last season, this season they have Ndombele and Lo Celso so they should finally have a midfield again, it's just a matter of them being healthy
And yes, the WBs and CBs got worse, but again they're not this complete, unplayable trainwreck that drag the team to mediocrity no matter what
Yes, they're probably just not as good as the 2016-2018 version, but doesn't mean they're not good
Depends how you define good, good enough to keep their place in the big six? Probably, but their run of being guarenteed top four is over.
I dunno man, that's mostly because Leicester are doing amazing. I'd still rate their team as the 3rd or 4th best in the league on potential. Though yeah, it's a close thing with United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Leicester
Still, the fact of the matter is their biggest problem remains injuries and fitness right now. Bit early to write them and Mourinho off
If Aurier had a sharper positional awareness and avoid loosing concentration in key moments, he would be a fantastic RB. Too bad he never raised his level, but I think with a proper manager (aka one that is more a training manager) he could become a better player. Not going to happen with Mourinho, though.

Their defence and that GK have been total shambles. Difficult to get anything decent going when they commit such basic errors.
Jose needs a proper new set of fullbacks and at least one top class CB. Eventually a replacement for Eriksen and add more depth in attack.

Granted the defense is not in a good shape, but it doesn't need such a revamp IMHO. Aurier and another RB will be enough, while on the left Ben Davies is defensively solid if fit.
It's going to be difficult to get better CB's at the market tbh. Toby, Jan and Sanchez are very good options that need to be properly drilled, and I see potential in Foyth, but they should loan him so he can gain experience.
I do think he needs one more winger and a proper backup to Kane. And with Eriksen leaving he urgently needs a creative mf.
Liverpool are going to spank them and he's going to lose his bottle. Its inevitable. He used to unravel in the third season, now a days his leash is getting shorter.

Not really. They've been shambolic in a couple of games(united, norwich and chelsea specifically), rest of the time they've been mostly decent. Main problems are from the midfield up, they're simply too reliant on individuality in their attack
They are massively better then under Pochettino though. They even press more now

The problem for Mou is that his gameplan in big games tends to be the kind of gameplan you'd expect from a small or midtable club. So when it works it's genius, but when it doesn't, it looks bad on him

I've never understood his parking the bus in big games at home. He essentially negates the home advantage with his shit tactics.
He has regressed quite a bit. Only a good manager these days, nowhere near the top level. Spurs can be happy if he wins them a trophy
He’s well past it I reckon. Happens with most managers the game just moves on past them.
Jose should take a championship job and get a team promoted. He might learn to appreciate the game more.
Don't know if he is even in the good section anymore, any manager in tune with the modern game outsmarts him with ease.
I saw the back to back title DVDs last week and thinking back to that it's mental how far he's fallen.
I dislike Mourinho's tactics as much as the next guy, but if we're being honest if it wasn't for supposed top players aiming their shots at the cheese room he would've gotten away with a point, perhaps even three.
We seem to have such higher standards when judging other clubs/managers than we do United...
Probably the worst value-for-money manager around - considering his insane wage and inevitable severance package.

You can't train someone like Aurier or Shaw to concentrate in key moments though . You can improve their positional sense but they will always let you down when it comes to the crunch .
He has had Poch and now Jose and he's still shit . Unless Fergie comes back he's screwed
Only saw the highlights, but it looked relatively balanced in terms of goal scoring chances, with Liverpool having a couple more.
The goal was a lack of concentration on a throw-in situation.
