I don't get his approach in away games against big teams. It doesn't make sense in the league. A draw is almost worthless, he'd be better of going for the win, even though he might lose more often that way. Draw away and win at home only makes sense when you play cup games.

He's the best we could get when we got him, he won two (second-rate) trophies and so deserves this year to prove himself.

In my opinion, he's not doing enough to warrant his downsides. I have absolutely no idea what are our attack is trying to do, and the players clearly do not either. These are not new players, these are not bad players, these are players who are very clearly not getting it.

Plus he's just so miserable and frankly boring at this point that it's just hard to see it going well.

If we end the season 2nd, people can put that up as an achievement. He's only there because we've had a genuinely amazing start to the season (a full 2/3rds of matches against bottom half teams).

Forcing Mkhi is not surprise, there are even worse examples prio him joining us. Formation also pisses the hell out of me.

He looks kind of unrest a bit; compared to how I saw him at chelsea and Madrid.

To me it doesnt even the slightest.

Today we did have a go.

Not impressed with him at all. Miserable fool outdated tactics, and persistence with Miki. The special one is more like the finished one

He's a completely miserable man. He hasn't looked happy since day one. I wonder if this attitude bleeds down through the squad.

Actually from what I've seen the players say he's a completely different person with them than he is with the media.

But yeah, it's depressing that he's so completely devoid of charm in his outings with the media these days.

Barely. Maybe if we compare it with a normal Mourinho. Bit it was still far off from being a confident, dominant offensive display. To me, you guys always seemed somewhat hesitant going forward.

We did go for it...

Yeah but as I said, barely or not, we didn't play our standard defensive game away at top 6 team.

Pogba is out. We are severely handicapped. Chelsea away is a fecking difficult game. We tried, we failed. Move on.

I was happy enough with our approach today, would struggle to find something to criticise tbh.
Maybe Mikhitariyan should have come off earlier but when a semi fit Fellaini is the back up you wouldn't want to bring him on too early i suppose.

Chelsea were better and we gave Fabregas and Hazard too easy a time but they're hard players to stop. Thems the breaks
I'd take todays performance over the liverpool one despite the result.
This is pretty much how I feel. Enjoyed the game.

It's freakishly annoying that pogba has missed all the big games and last season played all the big g games with unbalanced midfeild.

you just have to look at Shaw to show this, The beginning of last season he came back from injury and looked great,he was out of position once in the watford game where he was in no way the worse player on the pitch and got hung out to dry by Mouriho and since then he has gone from been out long term left back solution to been washed up and going to leave on a free contract..... even if you arnt Shaws biggest than everyone surely must admit Mourinho has utterly ballsed up his man management in that case.

Yeah, but that's what I mean. Of course you don't park the bus all the time, but the general strategy was the same as always. Get a draw, if you're lucky a win but in no way lose. It just doesn't make sense to me. Mourinho seems so paranoid in his approach.

Today's game didn't look like we wanted draw. It's just our offensive game is poor right now and we're waiting Pogba to be back. I'm not saying that will solve all the problems but some of it will.

Ashley young stopped attacking from the left wingback position for large parts of the game so rashford got dragged out , mkh never takes on the players or penetrates and lukaku gets isolated.

So disappointing to see only one touch in the box for the striker.

It should have been a 3412 but it was a 3421 with no attacking presence inside the box.

Could be. Maybe I read your game wrong. But to me you always seemed hesitant and somewhat afraid. But I must admit that I'm kind of biased towards Mourinho's approach in general. He's too passive to me. Especially with the offensive personal at his disposal. Of course Pogba is out. But today you had an offense of Mkhitaryan, Lukaku and Rashord on the field, Martial on the bench. You should be able to get into the box at least a few times with that personal. You can lose a game like that. But you should get more chances.

Our style of play is a reflection of Mourinho's character. He loves being miserable and dull, and that's what I see when I watch us play. Yes, Pogba is a big miss but I refuse to believe that Pogba or even having everyone fit would solve everything. Our football at the start of the season wasn't great even when Pogba was fit.

- I think he has lost it tactically. His shut up shop approach, nick a 1-0 win plan doesn't work. (His record in his last 10 games proves that). He is still living off that Demba Ba goal. - I feel like he is being left behind. Ever since that dreadful LFC game every player looks like they are afraid of the ball. I can just see the centre-backs and full backs passing to each other and simple passes into the midfield but once the ball gets into the final third everyone has a panic attack. - There's no verve to our football it's very dull, we play with zero risk. Some players like Herrera and Mkhitaryan have been very disappointing is that because they aren't very good or are they just suffering from Mourinho's system and tactics.

Pep is managing to get a tune out of his entire squad, young players look like they are improving and getting better they are scoring and passing teams off the pitch. Hard to really say Mourinho has improved anyone to a significant level.

I don't think we will win the title I did think that Mourinho left himself short. Especially at RB & LB. We probably have the weakest fullbacks of the top sides. Very uninspiring going forward. We don't have a winger like Perisic who can cross. Our set pieces and corners are pathetic. - Some of these things he should be able to fix.

Why he persists with Herrera-Matic as a pair I do not know. Every game they have started has been awful. Why not stick another midfielder like Mctominay in there to give better support. We were playing with ten men with Mkhitaryan today. He has been terrible all season but people were looking at his last minute goals and assists thinking he doing well. He has never played well for 90 minutes. He has contributed in the dying minutes of a few matches but his performances have been mostly poor.

- It kind of feels like once we go one nil down. We shut down. We resort to hoof ball. Making ugly clearances as opposed to clever counters.

Mourinho has some serious work to do to convince me he knows what he is doing in these big away matches. I see a lot of fear and trepidation in his approach and our style of play, which makes creating chances harder than it needs to be. Regardless of whether he wants to believe it or not, his football is insipid. Considering he has got most of the players he wanted bar one in Perisic. I expect better performances. Doubt we'll get them though.

Problem is or one of the problems is that Mickhi is completely out of form. And he's our nr. 10.

Wich is no surprise. Jose doesn't seem like the right guy to get Mkhitaryan going. He is just extremely sensible. If you play him out of position and the team is not looking good, it just gets to him. Mourinho's style in general doesn't suit him. Mkhitaryan needs a more constructive, aggressive and active style to shine. He needs the ball a lot, needs quick transitions and teammates who make a lot of runs. And he's lost in the middle.
