Our style of play is a reflection of Mourinho's character. He loves being miserable and dull, and that's what I see when I watch us play. Yes, Pogba is a big miss but I refuse to believe that Pogba or even having everyone fit would solve everything. Our football at the start of the season wasn't great even when Pogba was fit.
- I think he has lost it tactically. His shut up shop approach, nick a 1-0 win plan doesn't work. (His record in his last 10 games proves that). He is still living off that Demba Ba goal. - I feel like he is being left behind. Ever since that dreadful LFC game every player looks like they are afraid of the ball. I can just see the centre-backs and full backs passing to each other and simple passes into the midfield but once the ball gets into the final third everyone has a panic attack. - There's no verve to our football it's very dull, we play with zero risk. Some players like Herrera and Mkhitaryan have been very disappointing is that because they aren't very good or are they just suffering from Mourinho's system and tactics.
Pep is managing to get a tune out of his entire squad, young players look like they are improving and getting better they are scoring and passing teams off the pitch. Hard to really say Mourinho has improved anyone to a significant level.
I don't think we will win the title I did think that Mourinho left himself short. Especially at RB & LB. We probably have the weakest fullbacks of the top sides. Very uninspiring going forward. We don't have a winger like Perisic who can cross. Our set pieces and corners are pathetic. - Some of these things he should be able to fix.
Why he persists with Herrera-Matic as a pair I do not know. Every game they have started has been awful. Why not stick another midfielder like Mctominay in there to give better support. We were playing with ten men with Mkhitaryan today. He has been terrible all season but people were looking at his last minute goals and assists thinking he doing well. He has never played well for 90 minutes. He has contributed in the dying minutes of a few matches but his performances have been mostly poor.
- It kind of feels like once we go one nil down. We shut down. We resort to hoof ball. Making ugly clearances as opposed to clever counters.
Mourinho has some serious work to do to convince me he knows what he is doing in these big away matches. I see a lot of fear and trepidation in his approach and our style of play, which makes creating chances harder than it needs to be. Regardless of whether he wants to believe it or not, his football is insipid. Considering he has got most of the players he wanted bar one in Perisic. I expect better performances. Doubt we'll get them though.
