Jorginho

I agree, I don't think Pereira himself feels he has a future here. After being shipped out on loan again this season, when there was space in the squad for him has done that. 2nd season doing well in La Liga, no trust in him from jose I think he'll go in the summer. Which is a shame, because he would fit in here and develop well. I'd be in favour of us signing one CM and using Pereira more next season, he would come good.

I disagree with the second part of your post. All players go through spells of inconsistency, and I'd certainly put Pogba as one of our worst when it comes to consistency. Pogba has moments in games when he is sensational, but to call him consistent is simply not true

Rashford is rarely used as a striker, he is young and learning the game as it is, without being shipped to LW then RW. He isn't a winger so you cant blame him for not having the best of games out there. Lingard is hot and cold, but its clicked now that he is best centrally, again using someone out of position is bound to hit the consistency.
Pereira asked to go on loan.

He wasn't really shipped out. Mourinho wanted him to stay and fight for his place.

Based on last season and conversations with the manager, the player decided he would get more first team football elsewhere. So he went on loan to a good team and is doing well.

If Jose wanted him to stay, he should have assured him he would feature in the first team more. But Jose's prefers Fellaini in midfield. So that tells you everything you need to know

It tells us that Pereira wasn't willing to give it a chance and fight. And with our big injuries in midfield he would have had them but has probably tossed that away now.

Believe what you want.

I've heard theres talks but im no ITK or anything so I believe when I see, Im hoping :)

I think (and Im no ITK either) we've discussed the chance of him joining us. Believe it or not, not every player in the world would want to do that. Roberto Baggio was demonised in Italy with all the estabilishment there wanting him out. Despite all he preferred to stick to Italy and play with smaller clubs then making some serious money abroad.

Irrespective of the answer he might have given signing Jorginho wouldn't be easy. If you think that Levy is tough then you haven't met De Laurentiis. Imagine Levy if he was as crazy as a horse....that's De Laurentiis in a nutshell. Not to forget that after the Pogba deal we came across in italy as being fully loaded and kind of dumb. Hopefully that mentality had changed thanks to how we acted in the Perisic deal and the Blind deal.

The only way we might get him on a realistic fee is for Juventus to bid for him. You might think it would be bad news for us since it would turn the whole thing up into an auction but its simply not the case. Juventus is De Laurentiis cryptonite. He would rather see him join us for less money then them.

If I remember correctly Jose wasn't fond on letting him go on loan, and he decided for it, being able to be called in january if necessary. I think he knows he need some dust in his boots before fighting for a regular place. I think it's great he's getting experience in La Liga.

Jose asked him to stay. You've a very selective memory on the subject. Jose in no way wanted him to leave and asked him to stay. It's a tad hard selecting a player who's at another club, so your theory that he'd have prefered Fellaini over him this season is pure speculation.

Jose has publicly said he believe Fellaini to be important, I've never seen any evidence of Jose favouring Periera, It maybe somewhat speculative, but its pretty accurate

So his agent has spoken out on the transfer speculation surrounding Jorginho

Joao Santos told Radio Crc on the transfer talk surrounding Jorginho: "From June he'll have two more years on his contract and maybe we'll start discussing it then, it's pointless messing with his head.

"The contract isn't expiring any time soon, there's time.

"He's happy in Naples, Jorginho is happy and the city is very beautiful.

"Manchester United and Manchester City? When you're playing for the Serie A leaders it's only logical that important teams will ask for updates: for example the length of the contract.

"I'm glad to come here [to Naples] too, it's a very Brazilian climate.

"In Manchester it rains too often."

I find this to be the most ridiculous and the silliest reason to reject transfer to one of the biggest clubs in the world.Hopefully its just his agent trying to calm all the transfer talk because I feel he is as good a Carrick replacement as we can hope for.

Im sure 200k a week will make him forget about the rain.

I agree. On the other hand the club could try to sort it out. Maybe creating sort of greenhouse and an artificial tropical environment.

I think that his agent is acting smart. Irking De Laurentiis is never a good idea especially since the player doesn't seem to have inserted a minimum fee clause in his contract. Hamsik tried to force a move to AC Milan once and he ended up being harassed by Napoli fans and humiliated publically as he was forced to dance at 'chi non salta Rossonero e' tune in front of the fans.

I know people make fun of the rain thing, but if you can play for a top team in a country where the weather is great, and you have no real personal connection to Utd, I can see why you'd consider other options.

Jorginho's pass for the first one for Napoli is great, Napoli's 4th was magical.

Until you see the size of your salary in comparison to what you’re being offered elsewhere and then the weather doesn’t seem so bad in Manchester.

As someone who has made the choice, obviously not to the same scale (sadly), I've taken the option of living in a wonderful climate on half the pay as to what I'd receive in rainy old England and not regretted it. But everyones different.

I'm sceptical about him being a good fit. Napoli's style is very different to ours, their attacking patterns and plays are very well coached and he thrives there. Not to say Mourinho is a bad coach but it seems like he takes a hands off approach with our attacking play and leaves it to the players. Our attack hasn't got the structure Napoli does and outside Sarri's system I'm unsure if he would flourish.

My thinking too, I wary signing any players that only ever delivered within the certain systems as you never know how they would manage outside of that scope (unless player is elite level: Kane, Ronaldo, etc tier) Dortmund, obviously, springs to my mind but you get the idea.

Isn’t that the personal opinion of the agent though?

Jorginho created at least 3 very good chances in that highlights video, the weight on his passes are perfect. And also Mertens, that guy is so good, link up and movement and finishing, he has 18 goals and 9 assists this season in all competitions.I wouldn't mind him being our only attacker signing this year as he can play on the wings and as false 9.He has a 30 million release clause IIRC.Triple swoop for Jorginho, Mertens and Ghoulam (provided he recovers well from his ACL Tear ):)

Yeah I also thought this when watching him. He passes between the lines really well but the attackers always find an angle for him. Ours are far too static and I could see him falling into the routine of passing backwards and sideways very quickly if something doesn't change with our attackers.

Think he’s also recently dislocated his knee. Absolutely no chance anyone is signing him

You turned down 60 pieces of silver?

He is for me the best Pivote in Europe at this present moment. His positional play is nigh on perfect in almost every game. I am surprised Manchester City have not tried to sign him.

City have been linked with him a couple times since Pep came in. A lot of that probably just has to do with Sarri and Pep having similar styles. My guess is City thought Napoli would for sure ask for a lot more than Fred will cost, and decided that Fred was better value at that price (if recent reports are to be believed).

A few updates on him from his agent :

JORGINHO COULD BE SACRIFICED BY NAPOLI, ADMITS AGENT

“If a player like Torreira arrives from Sampdoria, then that will require an important investment and Jorginho could be sacrificed to make way,” Joao Santos admitted to Radio Crc.

"I think they’d rather sell Jorginho than Amadou Diawara, who is younger.”

Napoli star Jorginho is perfect for the Premier League, says midfielder’s agent

“I follow the Premier League," Santos told SunSport. "I’m sure Jorginho has the characteristics to play there.

“He runs more than 13km every game and he has a great technique. I don’t have a figure in my mind, the price is set by the president.”

“We’re waiting for May. We hope Napoli can win the league. Then if Napoli wants to renew the contract, we can talk about it.

“The same if they want to sell Jorginho. There are no official and concrete proposals for him from UK"

Looks like he is on the move and hopefully he's coming to Manchester.

Looks like they are open to leaving this summer.

Yeah, the agent is definitely putting him in the shop window and that's a slight change of direction from him, so the club must have given him the nod to do so.

Our top summer target apparently.
Although ours are constantly changing , see Brandt Texiera etc

I kind of feel United have already agreed a deal for him especially with Rai TV ( which is apparently the Italian version of BBC) reporting that United had met with his representatives back in Dec or Jan and Mourinho going on and on about a Carrick replacement.
