Was absolutely immense today, is playing with real confidence and has grown as a player. Didnt know he was capable of this, if he can improve on the physical side to his play it will make him a monster.
I'll say it again, he's been our best defender bar Vidic this season.

I thought he did pretty well physically against Carroll... Absolutely raped him and Suarez.

Fantastic performance, took up some great defensive positions and you could tell he enjoyed himself.
Best I've seen him with the ball in the air. Seems to have added an extra inch every time I see him now. Confidence a marvellous thing.

Can we all accept that Evans is a pretty good centre half now? The stick he gets at times is ridiculous. Chuffed for him, he's gonna be a superb centre half when he reaches his peak.

His form started improving in the second half of last season.
In fact, he pretty much had a horror 12 month period from January 2010 through till January 2011. His form up until the former was great, then he had those shocking 12 months, then slowly but surely his form improved last season and he's been great almost all this season. Probably been in our top 5 players to be honest.

We almost don't miss Vidic. That's how good he's been.
I've got to admit that he was very impressive today. He may not be a world class defender, but he's been solid for a while now and isn't making as many rash decisions as he once did.

Sir, like any other members of the team today, you deserve my respect. Take this as an example everytime!
He was quite brilliant today.
There have been the occasional moments where we miss having Vidic or Smalling in there who are more dominant in the air, but otherwise we couldn't ask much more from Evans this season. And if anything, it's Rio that they would be replacing, not Jonny.
Evans plays always fantastic if he plays a lot of games in a row.
Evans had little to do and fecked up twice losing the ball in a very dangerous position under no pressure and losing the header for the goal. He's always got a mistake in him.
He's 23 and looks a lot less mistake-prone than, for example, the 27 year old Koscielny or the 26 year old Vermaelen

He'd walk into your side, and be your best centre back...by a mile.
And that's not even mentioning a 27 year old Mertesacker who should have given away a penalty today (although here's hoping for a speedy recovery).
1st time I've popped on to the Caf for a while and, true to form, Peter is talking out of his arse.
Delighted with him this season, proving people wrong. Some forget he's still quite young and has quite a few years ahead of him.
He's already one of the best in the world.
Problem with young defenders is they can go from a top player to "not even conference quality" at the drop of a hat. I think during his time at Sunderland and for us in his first 1.5 seasons was awesome, he had a bit of a dip which happens with young players and everyone was writing him off.
Hes a good player who has the ability to become a key player for us in the future, not got a bad collection of young defenders we have at our club

He's great but he has to be careful when he's on one of his beckenbauer surges up front....there were couple of times his touch was heavy and almost lost it with him out of position...
But those touches were ambitious touches, ones that if they worked out would have allowed him to glide past the opposition player in one slick move...sometimes i think he even believes he is beckenbauer.
