I like him, and I really hope the crowd get behind him for the rest of the season as he's going to be fecking vital.

Did well for the most part today but on 2 occasions made stupid errors. He has to eradicate these before he can even be considered as a first teamed at Utd.

I can only think of 1. Where he underhit a pass to Evra (not helped by Evra being on his heels) it then led to an attack through Mark Davies I think.

I think it was the shot that Ngog put over the roof, nevermind row Z.

Delighted to see Evans looking good again this season after a poor season last season.

Still not convinced.
I will concede I do see some improvement in the lad but he just does not "look" confident in possession to me, and his indecision leads to mistakes. (not just by him)
All's well when we play against a 4 - 5 - 1 but I fear the Arse would rip him a new one.

Rio and Smalling next week!

Great game from Jonny, I thought he was second only to Valencia today. Dominated most things in the air as well.

I still rate Smalling higher and hope he's the one playing most games, but Evans isn't far behind him. And having them both playing well is great for when Rio needs a rest or gets injured.

Evans was absolute class yesterday. When he's confident and error free he's calmness personified and that's great to see.

Smalling-Evans is the future...actually, it's pretty much the present. Better pray neither of them get injured.

His type of game, he usually is at his best when the other team isn't a threat in the air.

Some of his passing was very good. He seems to have the best eye for a long ball out of all of our defenders. I think him and Smalling are nailed on for the future CB roles. Jones will have to make a position for himself somewhere else on the pitch.

To think people were slating him and wanted to get rid of him a few weeks ago. Where are those people now?

Very solid game again today, I actually think that he has been quite reliable for some time now. One of those players that will always come in for critisisim when the team is under-performing, unfairly at times.

He's strung a few decent games together which is good to see, I still worry about him against more physical forwards.

Jonny Evans is vastly underrated by a lot of United fans. When playing regularly and on form he's a very good centre half, and a good footballer too.

A lot of people will look at this season and remember nothing about Evans apart from the red card against City, but that's really been the only huge errors he's made. Overall he's been very consistent.
