All 3 United
His tinfoil hat protects him from the Glazers.
I think you're watching him so closely you're seeing things. He's great positionally. Not dominant in the air though.
He lets men run off him, which is not good positionally!

...how come the guy who scored the third who he was picking up was a different player?

So defenders have to follow their attackers everywhere? Riiiiiiiight.

On a different note, that touch to bring down the ball that lead to us getting the penalty
FFS - yes when defending set plays!
You didn't say that though.
Absolutely shithouse today. Soft on setpieces and really just gets bullied by most attackers.
Apart from Carlton Cole and Andy Carroll and Maiga in a long ball system ?
Aces opinion there.
Reactionary bollocks is another way of putting it.
Was dire, seeing as he seems to be a confidence player, I'm worried how he'll fare against City.
He did 1 thing right all game, which was an unbelievable first touch that won the penalty. Just about every other choice he made during the game was the wrong one. Couldnt mark from set pieces, couldnt head the ball forward and he looked incredibly weak physically today. But as mentioned Ferdinand was almost invisible and Evra seems to think its someone else's responsibility to stop his man crossing the ball at will. So that didnt help. Still a dreadful performance and unfortunately not his only one.
Who kept a clean sheet against West Ham on Wednesday?
Must've been Smalling's influence, letting Evans dictate his positioning.
fecking knee-jerk bull-shit aimed at a player rarely out of the MOTM votes.
He was a stalwart in the record run of clean-sheets, a couple of years ago.
Some people can't seem to get over the five goals City scored AFTER he left the field.
And why did he leave the field?? Another massive cock up! The fact is forwards are now aware, if you put him under he WILL make a mistake.

He has come a long way since that sending off, your making it sound like he gets mugged off every weekend which clearly isn't the case.

'Stalwart' is a bit of an exaggeration though. While he was important in that run of clean sheets, the fact was that Vidic, having the season of his life and one of the best defenders in the world, and Van Der Sar, again being incredibly solid in goal and one of the best goalkeepers in the world at that point, were a lot more crucial to the team than Evans was. No doubt that Evans did play well during that run, but circumstance benefited him massively. It's not a criticism; just that he's not as crucial for that run as people say.
And nobody is unable to get over that City game. Of course, his rash sending off was a reason why City could cut us open towards the end easily, meaning he is partly to blame, but it's not as if it's the only bad game he's had in the past year. He's come on massively and is now a good defender for us who will continue to improve, but he still has plenty of flaws to his game as well.
Get a fecking grip!
Is he the only player sent off like that?
I suppose Vidic is shit for getting a red against Liverpool?
Keane must've been bloody awful.
What goals have we conceded this year, that you consider to be wholly down to Evans?
And it's just a coincidence that our defence has gone to shit since he's been a regular? Stop looking at the glory clearances and look at the 90mins of each game he plays.
He was goal side and some how managed to reverse that to then take Balotelli out, it wasn't just a mistake it was a catastrophic cock up. To this day I don't know how he managed to get into that position!
Yes if a team sits off us and he has time to bring the ball out of defence he looks great but like today when he's put under pressure, he makes mistakes. Lets also look to the 4-4 home draw against Everton last season, not just the odd mistake but mistake after mistake.
Wake up he's not ever going to be a top class defender, another poster suggested a comparison to Brown, personally I think that's very harsh on Wesley.
First goal v Everton was Rafa getting out-jumped at the far post.
Second, Fellaini volley after ball went over Rio in no-man's-land.
Third beat Fellaini in the air, Jelavic beat Rafa to the loose ball to score.
Fourth, gets done by Fellaini who squares to Pienaar with Rio flat-footed.
To choose that game to have a pop at Evans, shows how clueless you really are.
