I meant in his age group, at 16/17. We bought him when he was 18/19 from Porto. He was considered a massive talent at the time.

I know you didnt mean this - but everytime i hear Anderson's performances as a joke then I like to to tell people that the guy was a good player for us.
He didn't maybe achieve the levels that were initially put on his shoulders - but this is a guy who would start our games against Arsenal & Chelsea as well as some of our UCL matches and was a good player who helped rotate possesion well for us whilst others were more dictative. The guy on his day could put a performance similair to how Park did - the latter just did it more often and was visibily obvious.
Anderson was a good player for us; just at the time - not worth the money we bought him for.
That's just the ultimate vilification of Anderson then.
Out of all the players we're linked to, along with Sancho, my muppet dream this summer. He looks a fun player, could blossom under happy Ole.
Thats because park was literally the best pressurising attacker in football. Anderson was playing deeper in midfield
He definitely had some great performances for us but his base level was very low and had a lot of injuries. Just read an article about his 'decline' and it's sad. He can't even get a game at a 2nd tier Turkish side, aged 30.
I thought him and T Clevz were going to be our next great midfield pairing in that 10/11 season... didn't quite turn out that way.
Where would you play him? Instead of Sancho, or together? I think his best position would be AM but then we would need to seriously strengthen DM. We're not short of forwards either.
I know it's not the most obvious move, but he'd create a tactical option that we don't have now. His versatility could allow him to play false nine in the favoured 433. But if we have aspirations to create a strong midfield, allowing for the tactical possibility of playing a midfield two, he'd be a great option supporting the striker.
Mainly it's just because he looks outrageously talented for his age and going for this type of player would signal a move towards a great style of play.
Yeah don't get me wrong, I'd love him here. Looks brilliant, he's young so we wouldn't have to crow bar him in straight away. Hopefully it's exciting times this summer and beyond.

He was a good player, but unfortunately his later years of being 'fat' and his inconsistency mars how people remember him.
He was what, 20 in his debut season for us? He played almost 40 games for us and never looked out of place, and scored a penalty in the CL final. In the 2008/09 season he played a similar amount of games and started the CL final against Barca for us.
If people want average players they should look to the midfielders we've had post Fergie. Snchiederlin, a past it Schweinsteiger, Fellaini when played as a DM.. yeah Ando had a huge drop from his first 3-4 years with us, but he had pace, was able to beat a man and had a good pass on him. The only thing he was dreadful with was his shooting. Bellion or Djemba Djemba he was not.
Anyone saying Nani never reached his potential needs their head checked. We could badly do with the Nani we had between 2008-2012 in our team today. The guy in 2016 won the European cup ffs and he was Portugal's second or third best player behind Pepe and possily Renato/Ronaldo.

Sign this kid up! Great performance so far against Frankfurt. Reminds me a lot of Ozil at that age, so mature and intelligent when on the ball. Created, and scored the penalty and then a strong shot from long range for his second.
SIGN HIM AND BRUNO FERNANDES! Don't care if they don't fit in the current formation, we can adapt them. They are clearly talented and its worth the risk.

He shouldn't be a target for United unless we're planning to use him as a goalscoring forward or False 9 who has a great deal of freedom — no need to sign a talented player and then utilize him in a sub-optimal scheme. Same deal as Griezmann/Dybala when they were suggested as targets for United, Mata on the right wing, or indeed Pogba when he was throttled in a fairly conservative central midfield role in José's choice 4-2-3-1. Folks propose a forward trio with Rashford and Martial, and while that does look enticing on paper, playing with 2 goalscoring forwards will detract from Félix's production unless we reconfigure our approach quite significantly and make him the center-piece.

Our front line will be very inconsistent if we sign him and sancho plus we have rashford and martial, I feel like we need more experienced attacker.

He is a creator and a finisher. Martial and Rashford are as you state, both finishers. We need more creators.
For me, the best thing about him, is not his goalscoring. It is his touch, timing and seemingly understanding of how to unlock "parking the bus" defenses. Also, i like seing a technical gifted youngster not backing off in aerial duels.
Problem is if this makes City/Juventus/Real Madrid go all in for him. And if i'm not mistaken,he has stated that his dream is to play alongside CR.
I don't know I'm not scout, but we all know our attack lacks consistency. I don't see how we're going to solve that by signing more young players. With good scouting I'm sure we can find someone.
He seems clever and creative, which is something our forward line is lacking. I think he'd make a great addition and a good foil for Rashford or Lukaku.
This is why I think we will go for Bale over Sancho.
Ole will try sell sanchez & Lukaku to replace them with Bale - an experienced left footed right sided forward. Let Martial & Rashford compete for the left sided forward. Get felix for the false 9 role. Greenwood can shadow bale. Martial can play false 9 for felix on rotation.
Our attack finds a balance with Martial, Rashford, Greenwood, Bale & Felix.
