Yeah let's sign Bale instead. Winner and all that. Now our club transformation into Arsenal could be complete. Always going for youth, and top 4 as the target.

If we're buying promising players let's aim high.
Martial
Rashford
Lingard
Felix
Sancho
Greenwood
Now that's a proper attack with huge potential.

He'll never do anything yet for you as long as he isn't in the first team. Hopefully he makes the step up next season. I have listed him as the sixth option. That's a very inexperienced and underwhelming attack . Also we need to chill about Greenwood. I am sure he is a very talented younger player but he has not done anything yet to make it to our full fledged attack .
If there were elite talents who suited our team who were 24/25 years old and available I would have listed them. I bet Sancho outperforms any supposedly available 25 year old you can mention. How about aiming for the League title instead of another 3-5 year "project" while celebrating Top 4 trophy; like Arsene-Arsenal always did when he's getting senile and old?
We’ve lost one player in about 15 years who moved to a bigger club and went on to be a big success Or as the poster put it “used us as a stepping stone”This pathetic negativity sums up the mentality of our fans at the moment.

We got nowhere 'aiming for the league title' and signing star names. Then again, let's go for another Sanchez because established players mean you win stuff.
Ok. So the 3-5 year project since SAF left, we’ve bought:
Fellaini
Di Maria
Schweinsteiger
Scheniderlin
Mhykitarian
Zlatan
Falcao
Sanchez
Bailly
Rojo
Mata
Matic
Pogba
Herrera
Lindelof
Martial
Lukaku
Dalot
The most exciting players out of that group are the young ones, Lindelof, Martial and Dalot. The rest are either overpriced stars who flopped or decent squad additions but not first 11 PL winning sides types of players, with the exception of Pogba.

Lukaku - decent
Dalot - too soon to call
You missed Memphis. Worst I've seen wear the shirt in years. And I saw BebeOk. So the 3-5 year project since SAF left, we’ve bought:

Nobody wants to celebrate the top 4. But chasing next year’s results at the expense of building a generational side loaded with top talent is folly. We’ve done the star chasing, and it hasn’t worked out for us. It’s not who we are, and if you look at our history back to Sir Matt Busby, you’ll find that that our periods of great success coincided with large influxes of youth that built platforms for CL and PL titles. It’s who we are. If you want instant gratification, go support PSG or City.
Missing out Zlatan there, wtf?
Matic and Herrera were fine additions, the rest... you have a point.

No, for explaining the logic. Clearly there's no guarantee that an experienced player will produce better short term peformances and a young player will produce only in the long term. It depends on case to case.It has to be a mixed between young and established. There are plethora of established good players out there that can help us win the league, without being another 3-5 yrs project.
Why do you keep mentioning shite established players like Sanchez and Bale? Just for point scoring?
Damn it looks bad when put it all together, no one can be considered a real success, and most are flops or only squad quality.
I'd be more jubilant if we signed Leon Bailey than Felix and Sancho! Plus he would cost less.

I'd argue that it should not be case of how we play now. Rather it's about what Ole is planning for in the future. And that to me is more promising than simply replacing player for player.we've got too many vital positions to fill to spend a wad on a luxury like this kid, IMO
he looks skilful but he doesn't play in a position we need or regularly use

He's been playing as a false nine though, and that's something we definitely need as neither Lukaku nor Rashford are good enough up front.
Between Felix or Sancho who do we need more in this team. Felix could play in Lingard's false nine role as a creator with very strong awareness which our midfield and attack really lacks while Sancho would play on the right add some pace and create chances.
I think Felix would improve us creatively while Sancho would give us more options to attack with occupying the right hand side
We wouldn't have to get rid of Lukaku AND Martial. Look at City's depth in attack. If we were to pinball wazzard Lukaku...and dare I say it, possibly Martial, why not both?

Zlatan is under Mhykitarian.... Fine addition, gave us our swagger back a bit. But still.....
Agreed. He's been the only signing post fergie with the right mentality, consistency and technical ability to back it upI meant that Zlatan should never be in the ”flop” or ”decent squad additions” list, if anything he’s been the biggest success of them all, the one signing that was truly World Class. Only shame with Zlatan was the injury cutting short what would have been a brilliant couple of seasons.
Although I wouldn't mind him, feel Dybala is a more ready made player for that false nine position.
Funny how Felix is overtaking Sancho in people's transfer wishlist ever since his hatrick or the people thinking we can get both of them which is just impossible
I'd take Sancho over Felix... Why? Because he's young, talented, creative and a right winger and English. Sancho also seems more realistic in the sense that he would prefer a move to England
I also think Sancho is the perfect winger to get if we're going with Rashford as our main striker simply because he tends to keep the ball on the ground rather than send in crosses as Rashford isn't capable of heading. Sancho also seems more physically ready than Felix who seems more of a la Liga type player
Maybe it's possible to get both of them but definitely not this summer. We have to get one though because the longer we wait the more clubs will come after them

I've always wanted to get Felix ahead of Sancho well before he scored his hattrick. He could be used in varying formation as opposed to Sancho. Felix could be used as a second striker or a false 9 apart from the wings. Sancho will be found out after his first season in the PL. I also think Felix has few more gears to be a much better player than Sancho. Dortmund will hold us ransom to some crazy money unlike for Felix. I think we could convince Benfica to sell him for 60 odd million as opposed to 100m that's being quoted for Sancho.
Young players is who we should be signing. Look at how much of Utd's recent business has been signing big names past their best, often on big wages. The only area I'd probably say we should be going for experience is CB where we need someone who can actually organise the defence and be the leader at the back, something which generally comes with a bit of experience. Otherwise I'd be happy for Utd to fill their attacking positions with hot prospects building for the future.
Look at what Bayern are doing, their team has come to an end of its era but they are signing up top youngsters to build their next generation rather than going for established stars which a) are even more expensive and b) often aren't even attainable as most are already tied up at top clubs.
Sign both Felix and Sancho.
Any ope they both fulfill potential because our attack is gash.
