He isn't a forward and I doubt he will get anywhere near the top 3 scorers of all time for Portugal. He is one of our next bug talents but he has no where near the hype or ability a Ronaldo or quaresma at the time did. If he could have the same impact Nani did for Portugal that alone will be great. I dont see him as the answer to our goal scoring problems at all.

I think he's overhyped as yet but he's clearly a forward, he has great movement and finishing. Outside of that I don't think he's anything special for now in fact.

Ah well, of course....every club is subject to circumstances. But where I disagree with you is on your assumption that their dip in form is going to lower the prestige those clubs have on South Americans. I think they are always going to be the two clubs with the most draw for not just South American players, but many players of European countries as well. Every top player in the world seems to have either a dream of playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid, and even without CR7 it is not changing for Real Madrid.

Barcelona has also always been a draw for players as well, even before Messi or R10, and they now have far more money than they used to so they can at least compete financially with Real Madrid which they couldn't always do in the past. Things can always change, Serie A is not the draw it once was for many players of the world, but I have a hard time seeing Real Madrid or Barcelona losing their status or prestige in the eyes of up-coming players in football, not just in South America. I still very much believe they have an edge on every other club in enticing players to come play for them.

I agree with you. I understand the draw that these clubs have over top players, specially South Americans. It's the lack of enthusiasm shown for other top clubs that bugs me.
Serie A really has a mountain to climb in that regard. But the PL, with all the money rolling, and success in Europe, should also be in that "player's dream" club.
What I mean is that I want players in the PL to be really excited about playing for their respective clubs, instead of seeing them as stepping stones for the Spanish giants.
The size and relevance of the PL clubs warrant that respect.

A classical nr.10 playmaker. Who can both set up chances and score goals.

Sancho - Kante/Longstaff - Pogba - Martial + Felix + Rashford

in a 4-1-1 formation

Sancho, Kante, Felix are mine dream signings if i was United manager.

Having there a defensive midfielder wouldn't make up for the lack of defensive work of Sancho, Martial, Felix and even Pogba. It's just not how it works.

I think him moving to Wolves is a lot less insane than the idea of United/City buying him.

Wolves will have a better team than us by the time the season starts

If you bare in mind that Boly, Vinagre, Jota, Hélder Costa and Bonatini were midtable to lower table players in PT, it makes it even more depressing.

Not a chance. Do you see Wolves spending 120m on him? If we go by what Benfica's president said, i doubt he will go there. He is good enough for a top club, why go to Wolves and fight for Europa League spots (currently), when you can win titles with another top team

It could work if he want's to play in the premier league and they want some money now, 60 million now and 25-30% sell on clause and everyone is happy as he will surely move on for a bigger team and bigger fee in 1-3 seasons.

Why would the latter be insane? He looks like one of the best attacking talents in a long time.

Not for me. Big talent? Yes. Overhyped? Yes. I'm not even sure he would make the bench at City for example but people seem to think they will smash their transfer record for him. I consider that insane.

THe president will always say things like that to drive the price up. Doubt anyone is willing to spend 120m on him.

60-80m range(EUR) I wouldn't be surprised. Considering the TV deals and how much Prem teams can spend I wouldn't count against it whether Wolves can afford him.

For that price, different teams will be in for him. Us, City, maybe Liverpool or Spurs and Juve. He will cost double that in a few years if he succeeds. While Wolves got some under the radar deals done, the stock of these players wasnt as high (the likes of Neves for example).

It really depends on what Mendes plans are for Wolves...

At Wolves he'll get 100% playing time. He can sign a 4 year contract with nice wages, spend 2 years there and make the step up. He's still 19. If he doesn't make it at a big club straight away most likely he will be relegated in the pecking order.

Wolves also have a pretty good team and IMO the conditions will favor him, whilst not enduring the same pressure and expectations. At big club he might burn out.

All in all it doesn't sound that ridiculous IMO.

wolves are doing great stuff with their squad & fair play to them . It makes sense to me for the player to make the move into the premiership with a team like wolves that play great football as said above and make a bigger name for himself , but could we see united step in and offer bigger money ? I hope so .

Yeah id be shocked if he went to wolves, not just because they could afford him but the fact that the other big clubs will just stand around and watch that happen. Marca has him linked to Atletico, they want him to replace griezmann. I think that's where he'll end up.

I would go all in for him. He looks like the next big thing. Time not to miss out young talents again.

Aren't both Benfica and Wolves basically owned by Jorge Mendes?

Wolves! Now that would be a coup. I can't see it happening but Wolves will probably finish ahead of United next season without him anyway

Anyone who things it can't be isn't considering Mendes

As said earlier, he’s going to a big club for a lot of money.

Wolves will not come close.

Edit: unless what you’re saying is he’s got something sewn up. I’m thinking about an earlier post suggesting he effectively owns Benfica and Wolves.

Looking at clips etc he looks so mediocre, how is this guy gaining numbers like £100m?

Because Wanderers owners have money to burn. They are richer than PSG. They had a 4 year plan. next season (year 3) is when they challenge for the title and year 4 the Champions league. They will spend what it needs to do this.

Wolves-Benfica and Atlético are all part of Mendes silk road so both are perfectly viable destinations for Felix.

Surely not?

I wasn't aware of this, very interesting. They have a good squad and if they really have owners that want to spend they can challenge. It does feel they have a plan, not mindless wasting money on players but buying players who fit the team
