Who do you think he actually knows to get that kind of information? More importantly, as if you'd come on to a fan forum and post cryptic clues if you actually did...
I've no idea but I'm not going to slate or mock him like others have, he seems a very knowledgeable guy if you read the youth forum.

They'll find space to shove another midfielder in there if necessary. They'll just loan Foden out or play KDB less, we don't know the extent of the damage of his knee injuries yet.

They don't pay very high prices for players. I see no Reason what so ever he will become another body in the crowd of players who all can start. I think he's too good to miss, although he is a lot skinny at the moment, still this summer we should prefer him over huge priced Sancho who's price will be justified if he succeeds another season in Dortmund in my opinion.

City doesn't even have space to add any more attacking players.

That's what we all think and then he just ends up there as well. Btw, Chelsea could very well be in for him as they look to deal with the Hazard exit. He would solve their striker crisis as well. Liverpool could probably be looking to boost their attacking line as they look to offload Sturridge and Origi. Either way, we need to sign this guy up at United NOW.

Its a modern trend to have 2 players in every position who all can start, depending on form and fitness. They have those now after Mahrez purchase.

City will get him of course and we'll settle for our 'second choice'.

City are ruthless.

They will dump a player if they have to.

For the first time in years, I feel we have a really good chance of attracting young players. Even without CL football, I think we could be a real alternative to players going to the top clubs in the CL because we have a manager who will play youth and they will get lots of game time.
It’s an easier sell than when JM was manager.
Unfortunately, I feel this lad will be too much of our budget and we need a good few players.

I would love to see both Felix and Fernandes come here, but City are sniffing around also. They will be watching our every move in the transfer window.

We signed Fred and Alexis ahead of city inspite of city interest, forget about how shit Alexis for us now, but just saying if needed we'll get the player.

I think it's the opposite. We are the ones who have repeatedly gone after City targets. I hope we steal at least one of these two before City get them.

Who have city actually snatched from United?

Wasn’t that more about Jose than Utd? He had the personality to persuade them and we backed it up with ridiculous money.

Right now who would players rather sign for: Pep or Ole?
Players need to buy into the project that Utd is and want to be part of it. City along with Liverpool are bigger attractions right now and we have to deal with it.

Long gone are the days when we went after players knowing we could get them. They are spoilt for choices with UCL being top of the list

I think a martial style fee would be appropriate for the lad. Bonus related. He’s not going to cost his release clause.

If you believe the press;

Bernardo Silva, g Jesus, gundogan.

I think it’s fair to say that once a club have their mind really set on a target then it’s pointless getting into a war over them.

Whether Bruno Fernandes/felix is wanted by both clubs, the only winners will be their clubs.

Jose was never in for Silva and Gündogan has never really hit the form pre injury so not sure we were ever after him. Jesus, I’ve no idea

Now a days it's more to do with money than Jose or Club or another manager for that matter.Project could be attractive but final say goes with money and their agents. There are very few players who would look into the finer matters but finally it all comes to agent and he pushes the player join certain club.
There are certain clubs that looks more attractive when compared with money for eg,Real Madrid, but same can't be said with other clubs like City or Liverpool.

I honestly don't care if we have a talented player who plays in his position, like Rashford, Joao Felix should be our priority if he is available. I've only seen him once play live, against Frankfurt, but I think he has Balon D'Or talent and we simply cannot let him go to a rival.

Given his style of play, he can easily play behind the main striker like Kaka used to and I think that's also his best position. Him behind Rashford would be a dream for me; put a pure DM and deep playmaker behind him and you'll have your midfield sorted as well.

I know it can be construed and dumb to judge a player on one appearance but the way he played, given his age, I just think he's set for the top. I've had similar feelings about players before (Ozil, Kroos, Hummel...... K. Richardson ). We will regret it if City take him.

Yeap, can't see Sancho leaving this year either.

ps. Grunningen?

Same.. Dortmund already sold that American kid to Chelsea so i doubt they need to money or want to lose another young wing player.

And yes, the club to bring Luis Suarez to Europe!

Against Frankfurt he was anonymous. But he’s young so not unexpected

The idea that he’s a future BOD winner is premature

Yeah exactly. First Dembele, then Pulisic and now Sancho? I'm sure they don't want to bring in new wingers every year. It will only get harder for them to find replacements.

Cool, I work there but am from Leeuwarden myself.

I was referring to the first leg when he scored a hat trick :p I didn't see him in the second leg.

Still, I understand it may sound pre-mature now, but for me personally there are some players who you just see and think they will be world class. It's a mixture of not only their ability but also maturity and intelligence. It was the same when I saw Ozil play against Valencia in 2007 and Kroos when I saw him in the U-17 World Cup.

I think he will make it to the very top so I would love it if we sign him.

Would he choose us? Would you right now?

Iirc his son is in the academy or something. Either way he spends time at Carrington and knows people in the youth set up so he has a better chance of hearing stuff than 99.99% of people.

There was nothing cryptic about his post. And people literally do it all the time so I'm not sure how you're surprised about someone posting info they heard. Jack Grealish's brother would go on a fan forum and post "clue" before his highly anticipated debut for Villa. A guy called the Kohler sponsor months before. People love to share inside info that is exciting.

I man can dream. But honestly I don't know why people are so negative about players wanting to join us at this stage, me managed to sign Di Maria and Falcao at a time when we were in the Europa League. The image of United is still very strong throughout the world. Joao Felix is very young so he can see us as an opportunity to grow himself and the club back to the heights we once were at.

Whatever happened to Acquire Me being the resident ITK?

 I remember that summer he called the Mkhitaryan transfer spot on.
He predicted Weigl or Pulisic to Utd the next summer, was harrased a lot when that didnt happen and vowed never to share his insider knowledge again

I dont think he can cut in England. He looks like more of a player for Spain or Italy to me. Even though he develops his physical side it will take time and we cant afford that at this min. We need players to come in and help us straight away. I am not sure even we can afford players like Fred who might need more time to settle in.

Seems pretty obvious we're looking to build long term again, and actually not go for the quick fix players, and I like it personally, its certainly got the potential to be more fun to watch than signing more "superstars" only to see them flop. Although a mix of potential and experience would be ideal.

Alright then, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and I do remember the Kohler one from Reddit. However, I would also doubt that United go around telling their youth coaches about potential transfer business or that the people who do know actually let them information slip as it will be a very select group who will be easily accountable if it gets out.

We get a lot of posts this time of year about people's hairdressers who know someone who cuts Ronaldo's hair...

Hence my skepticism.

Neither team has anything left to play for. I could understand if there were important upcoming games and you wouldn’t want to lose focus. That’s just not the case though.

it's not about focus or games left. Lot of things have to be considered. Clubs agreeing about the price, agents agreeing about fees, holding out for better deals. So many things need to be aligned!

You could literally choose any player we are being linked with and create an ITK persona out of it - as in "I can't reveal my sources, but the player definitely wants to come to United and Ed has been in regular contact with his club and agent" etc. If it happens then you are the star ITK. If it doesn't then you can fabricate another story about how the deal was virtually done but agent fees got in the way etc. It's not particularly hard.

Well you just have to agree a price you’re willing to go to as an overall package, as a buyer and work around that. If they’re just holding out for better deals, we’re better off binning it off.

The original quote was that we’d go all out in the summer, if we’re going to go all out - ie pay whatever’s necessary, why would you not just do it now?

I can only think of Nasri and I guess Tevez, that was obviously when they were in the position we are now though

It's like one of the pundits (I forget who) said last weekend, when you're at the top you don't have to throw money at players who aren't 100% about joining you, it's only when you're tying to catch up that you need to do that and that's why City then found themselves with the likes of Nasri and Tevez and why now we have the likes of Fred and Sanchez

As for Felix, I know nothing about him but he seems like a risk we could do without based on how much money we've wasted in recent years. If he goes to city and becomes TBITW then so be it

This is a seller's market, no matter what we offer Benefica/agents will use that to negotiate. Also, just because there is a release clause doesnt mean we should pay it and make it quick, there is so much risk involved.

I’m not saying we should, I was just questioning the “we’re going all out in the summer” point. Seems a stupid thing to say only to wait to the summer.

There's the small matter of reaching agreement with a prodigy that might be wanted by any club in Europe.

The relevant parties: selling club, agent, and player, have a very vested interest in reaching the best possible outcome for their own reasons...
