Joao Felix / on loan to Chelsea

He was better than Felix at the WC though and you’re suggesting we replace him with Felix..

Go figure

I wouldn’t bother. Apparently there’s people out there that would rather Amad played instead of Bruno next year. I’m not even sure some posters actually watch football matches.

Typical muppets on here, creaming themselves at some big names instead of actually understand what the team lacks. We need a centre forward, Felix is not one.

This is not happening and the recent links smell like bullshit to me. At those terms, I imagine other teams would also be interested. Why would we be ahead of anyone else? Also, Weghorst seems pretty much done, so where does that leave Felix? If he came here, he'd have to contend with Bruno for the 10 position. And let's be honest, he is not going to be replacing him anytime soon. So he is going to come here to be backup? Not happening. And I'd rather have Weghorst than Felix.

Yeah but we can do multiple loans . Felix will be good addition

This would be a great deal. Probably have owners who let us spend money then, therefore we’d afford it with ease
Sounds like a terrible deal. Loan fee is ridiculous and the commitment to buy makes no sense unless it's conditional. I know Felix is a flashy name here but his goalscoring record is not good at all and he is simply not what we need. Would rather get someone else for the remainder of this season and properly identify a target for the summer hopefully with the new owners in rather than do any rash decisions and commit to something we will likely regret.

How could we agree an obligation to buy deal when Glazers won't even be our owners next season? Sounds like bs to me. Also don't think Felix has figured out how to master any specific position yet despite having talent. Don't see where he would play for us and he's certainly not reliable enough in front of goal to be our starting striker in the long term.

Yeah it doesn't make a lot of sense and no chance at the figures mentioned. I expect there will be stories to say we're done this window if the Weghorst deal goes through.

I can imagine Felix not being happy playing for someone as joyless as Simeone.

Glazers can easily do it. It's just factored into the purchase price for the owner.

If that tweet is correct, then we can’t as we will have an obligation as part of the loan deal to sign him for £70M. It’s different if it was an option to buy.

Obligation’s don’t really work like that. Otherwise we’d just sign him now and the issue would simply be down to payment structure.

‘Obligations’ are typically conditional. For example, the move becomes permanent if he plays more than 1000 minutes, or if he scores more than 8 goals. Otherwise everyone would save themselves the hassle and just announce the 5 year deal now.

Obligations are used to delay the transfer for FFP purposes.

If we signed him for £79m in January that goes on the books along with the £250m(ish) in the summer. If we pay £9m for his loan and an obligation to buy in the summer, the £70m goes on next years books which can prove very useful indeed for FFP.

Both can be true.

I don't think hes coming especially if the Glazers etc don't want permanent transfers agreed. Other than that though is there any reason we can't get both, wasn't it reported there was like 20 million left during Gakpo?

There will be nothing permanently about it though. It’s a loan. If permanent, that will get made in the summer in which hopefully they will have sold the club by then, so that will be one for the new owners.

Doesn't feel that simple though

If the Glazers approve a deal for him with obligation to buy for X amount. What's it to them ? The club surely be sold when that comes around so it's them not paying it correct ? (I know it's not them if they were still there, they rob it from United but u know what I mean)

Atleti play Barca today (Sunday). I imagine if it’s going to happen it’ll happen just after that. We won’t drag on a loan deal.

An incredibly small sample size so pretty much irrelevant. Felix has a much higher ceiling than Bruno. My opinion.

Sun rotates around the earth. My opinion. Just sign me some players every window.

The commitment to buy clause makes no sense for us to consider. If we’re interested in making such a commitment, just buy the man now rather in the summer. And if we’re so broke now we can no longer consider players who cost more than 10-20m, we’re hosed.

Yeah Luke Edwards from Telegraph is reporting that we have been put off by the loan fee,not sure how reliable though

Utd will try to bring this figure down but may find they get nowhere whatsoever
