Arsenal are "stepping up" their interest in Félix according to both Matt Law and Sam Dean, which (to me) hints at them preparing an offer to submit to Atletico Madrid. That's all, though.

Feck now Matt Law is involved

18/19 Benfica (21 starts & 5 subs) = 15 league goals & 7 assists
19/20 A.Madrid (21 starts & 6 subs) = 6 league goals & 1 assists
20/21 A.Madrid (14 starts & 17 subs) = 7 league goals & 5 assists
21/22 A.Madrid (13 starts & 11 subs) = 8 league goals & 4 assists
22/23 A.Madrid (6 starts & 7 subs) = 4 league goals & 3 assists

Based on the amount of games he started, his end product in the 4 of his 5 professional seasons had been good. Pretty much 12 G&A contribution in 13-14 starts in La Liga. He offers both goals and creativity.

Could do with the 18/19 version of him

I wouldn’t worry. Neither us or Arsenal will be willing to gain an advantage by paying Atletico’s outrageous demands. Felix would only be short term for both us and Arsenal and that money for Arsenal would be best used in the summer getting their long term target.

The price will have to come down which we will both be able to compete for and he will choice United over Arsenal anyway.

Do you think he will be left out of squad on Sun

I hope so. Apparently he’s not been training due to picking up niggles. But that’s more to not wanting to injure himself out of a move. He missed the last game so let’s see.

Yeah me too but feel this will drag out past the Arsenal game due to the complexity of the negotiations involved with Atletico

Loan him in and see if he’s up to it. Sign him up this summer if so. Go all out for Kane if not.

We are in no position to stand pat right now.

If we are only offering max €4m and they are wanting €12m, then logically we’d meet in the middle? We are even offering to pay his full wages for the duration of the loan as well.

Then again, I suppose football negotiations don’t work as easily as just meet in the middle and shake hands. This will most likely drag no doubt.

Yeah this has saga written all over it

fecking Chelsea will screw us over here. They'll sign that Mudryk guy and United will get Gakpo'd by Arsenal again

And if it drags out it’s almost a pointless move in terms of impact. We need him in the difficult games coming up in January and then against Barca. This is a move that would ideally be finalized before the Arsenal game.

Why is he so often on the bench?

Yeah I agree & I hope it doesn’t but just feels like it is. I just hope we have alternatives lined up like a Thuram if this isn’t going to happen.

Does he actually solve what we currently need? Fair enough, we shouldn't judge his output for Atletico harshly, but he's not exactly pulling up trees for Portugal either?

A little underwhelming this one, but probably as much as we could hope for in the January window.

Blimey if he's underwhelming

Maybe I'm being too harsh.. What's the word on the deal? Is it purely short term? If its a stop gap loan till the end of the season, it could be shrewd business. If there's an obligation to buy, that would be definitely underwhelming as I don't think he's what we need.

Supposed to be loan with no option I thought

I just feel like it could be a stroke of genius or a massive flop. Pity there's no Cavani-type option out there. You just knew he was nailed on for 10+ goals.

It's a potential loan. It's only a saga if you make it out to be by continually reading clickbait merchants like Romano.
The irony of Romano being called a clickbait merchant when A) he doesn’t have a website & B) you have 1000’s of people hounding him each day forcing him to put no-update updates out.

He does though have a youtube channel outputting multiple transfer rumour vids per day averaging between150k-350k viewers per vid, which is where the real money is made. He's also learnt quickly that the United videos do the best. The man is as click baity as they come.

C'mon, this isn't the 90s anymore

It becomes a saga when it drags on far longer than it should. We have had more than our fair share of those, and long before Romano and chums were on the scene. :)

I'm not particularly confident we'll end up with Felix, yet somehow I'll still be disappointed if we don't.

Just think this player, although a risk, could offer the greatest rewards.
